I've only seen Sprinter and Natsu no Ringo, and I think they're amazing.

The way Keiko played with her part in the bridge of Sprinter (mukidashi no hontou ga) going up instead of down with the melody was fantastic! This Sprinter was a little more sedate-sounding than the album version, probably because of the different drum line, but it still had that wonderful mood of...sprinting

Natsu no Ringo was very similar to the album, though I noticed a more obvious bass line in the live version. Hikaru's chorus (fue no ne ga, kimi wo saratteku...) was a little loud, not as gentle as Wakana's, but it wasn't that bad. I wish Keiko was featured more in this song, but Hikaru and Wakana do a great job :shy:

Can't wait for more :sohappy: :sohappy:

i'm really happy seeing ongaku live once again :sohappy:
that's my favorite part, i guess

i really like a lot, Red Moon, Sprinter, Hoshi no Utai and TE TO TE TO ME TO ME, and ilike the dance part too :XD: :XD: :XD:

they're so cute! and some of their songs, I like their natural voices more than the recorded.. xDD

Things I didn’t like were first Hikaru’s voice in some songs like in Natsu no ringo. Honestly, I think she sounded quite awful there But she improved later.
hmm.. agreed..

and..
ohh yeah... I don't know why but i like the I have a dream's kajurago part in the live than in recorded.. xDD

bleh i have to say the more i listen the more i dislike mata kaze and ongaku.

the arrangements and accompaniments and everythign were perfect, its just that keiko and hikaru sound overly harsh in it, hikaru was basically just screaming some parts. It just sounded as though they were trying too hard to be "rock"-y and the result is not ongaku to my ears =_=

i much prefer how they used to sing those two songs in previous lives, even though the accompaniment for previous lives sucked total balls.

what i want now, is for Yuki to write a rock song for Wakana. I really wanna see how that works out (hikaru has mata kaze and keiko has Ongaku)
classical operatic voice + metal rock = lolawesome?

I don't think Wakana's voice is suitable for a rock song.

^ thats why i think it would be interesting to try

u never know, i dont think any of us thought the girls would be doing rock songs at teh very start.

With Wakana singing a rock song, I can only imagine a weak song, seriously. Her voice isn't strong for this kind of song. The parts she sang in sprinter live that she doesn't really sing in the original and that penult chorus in ARIA can only make me cry at imagining her singing a rock song. :XD:

Agree...TT. But...it's still an interesting idea in the aspect of.."how will it come out.." (The same idea as why I think "it would be interesting if Yuki composes a song for vocaloid"...lol.) It may turn out to be an interesting song if Wakana sings a kind of rock song, but I think it wouldn't sound rock..may become a new genre of music..lol.

Try to wrap up my extremely long review after listening to .mp3's&watching performance..lol. (ok..I started from listened to mp3's, commented song by song, and added commented for some song after watching.)

Rockera genre is born :ayashii:

ooh i'd love to see ur proper review, i think im the only one so far whos bothered with a song by song impression lol

The same thing that happened to me when I listened to YK live4 happens again when I listened to this live dvd songs...XD... Ah.. I can't stop listen to them again and again even all songs are the songs that I have heard before...

Should tell you before that I don't like the keyboard playing style in this live..it sounds too much pop-ish..even it's matched with some songs...

Another thing to tell before..I'm really Konno-san biased...XD.

Red Moon: Even there is something in that song made me feel lack when compares with the recording version, but Hikaru did better than I taught..her voice is powerful and not annoying as I was afraid.. why I feel like I heard Yuriko voice in the last phrase of Kajiurago parts...why... Must be Wakana's or Hikaru's falsetto voice that sounds like hers...= =... Keiko's and Wakana's Kajiurago sounds so awesome at the end!!!

P.S. Konno's san violin made me crazy...>////////<!!! It made the song more emotional when comparing with the synthesized string sound in the recording.

After watching...I think I like how they express their emotion during singing..lol. (I feel like violin's voice is softer than when I listened to mp3...may be because the girls catch my attention..XD.)

Te to te to me to me: I don't like the live version very much..= =.. It's too far from the recording one... It's lack in many many things..not only the vocal, but also the music..= =. Even Konno's violin can't fulfil my feeling..Orz... When I watched the performance...I'm ok with that kind of dance... at least, it's matched the song (except some part near the ending that I feel that..it's a bit..too funny..= =.) and it's just their attempt to entertain the stage.., but it made me feel only..a bit better than when I listened to mp3. Instead of that dancing, I need more energetic and powerful feeling from this performance.

Fantasia: It's also one of my favourite in Red Moon album, but not for the live..TT. Similar to Te to te to me to me, I feel lack in many things..especially for the music. As for the vocalists...when I watched the performance.. I can see that Wakana seems so tired...it's the last songs before the first MC segment..so..maybe it can't help that I feel that everyone 's voices sound not as energetic as I expect. And I've found that the voice that I think it's similar to Yuriko's is Hikaru's...lol.

Sapphire: It's great! It seems (for me) that they did better for slow songs. Wakana did a great job!! Even she still has a problem with her breath taking, but it isn't that bad. Ah..I really really love Konno's violin..>//////<.

Hoshi no Utai: I like it..lol. It's another song that Hikaru did a good job. The keyboard player style is absolutely different from Yuki's one, but it's matched the song. I've just relized when I watched the performance that there are no ones playing woodwinds instrument or sth like that on the stage and I so wonder that where did such sounds come from in this song (and I think in Te to te to me to me, too.) I think their movement during the performance gave more feeling for the song...so I like it..^ ^.

Yami no Uta: It isn't bad, but I expect more from Keiko... I know that she can do better, but she may be quite tired in this song because I think that she lead almost all parts in Hoshi no Utai and her power sounds dropping from usual. The part that they sang quite fast is also quite messy... By the way..their choreography..(?) in this song is so....weird..= =...Kalafina renger...???

Natsu no Ringo: It's good..even there are nothings prominent, but the whole song is ok for me..except Hikaru's solo part in the middle of the song.. her voice is..too sharp..? (I think they did some MAGIC with this part and it may be worse in the live..lol. I can see that she put so much force in that part and it may seem...too aggressive..?)

Fairytale: It's so awesome..I luv it!!! Even love it more than the recording version. (and even it uses so obvious STUDIO MAGIC for one of Hikaru's part..., but it isn't the big part. She did quite well for the other parts.) I didn't realize that they didn't sing the Kajiurago intro in the live..TT. Hikaru's falsetto...in some part, it reminds me Yuriko's voice... (Ah..I miss FictionJunction live..) By the way.., her chorus in this song is so soft and sweet (which I haven't expect from her..lol.)..., but isn't much powerful.. I think Hikaru has a potential to improve her falsetto in the future...

Aria: I think their is the better part and the worse part comparing with YK live2 opening esp. for Hikaru. Powerful, but not too much aggressive. Her singing last time is a bit..awkward..? I don't know how to explain it, but I think she did better in this live. By the way.., in the first hook, Keiko's chorus is a bit too loud and it dominates Hikaru's main voice.

I think Hikaru's power dropped in some part...= =. I also like when Wakana's sang Hikaru's part..:p. It's one of my favourite from this live..>//////<. May be because this is the first one that I think "It's really good!" since after Red Moon (even Fairytale is so cool, but it has a big flaw in Hikaru's part...)

Progressive: Good job! I like it!! Not too much aggressive like in some of their live perfs, but so energetic and powerful... Even I think Wakana's voice in the first and last Kajiurago's part is a bit lack of power but it's not that bad. The whole song is still awesome. The fast part that they sang Kajiurago together isn't so messy like the part in Yami no Uta. It blends well.. I think the rearranged music is also so cool. (Korenaga's guitar is so cool and Konno's san violin in this song always made me crazy..>///////<.)

From Fairytale to Progressive...umm..it made me feel better..really love these three performances.

Haru wa Kogane no Yume no Naka: Good song.. their voices are blended well. Have just seen when watching the live that Wakana has already changed her costume. Her voice is great!! Seem like everyone gained their energy back after the long break..^ ^.

Storia: Not their best Storia performance...why their sounds so aggressive..= =. Not much aggressive.., but too aggressive than it should be. It isn't only Hikaru's sound, but Wakana's voice also sounds..weird...like she's very tired, but still tried to push her voice out. By the way..I don't know what's wrong with Wakana even after I watched it..

Intermezzo: At first, I so wonder that would this song come out because the recording version used some technique with their voices. But the live version one is good, even it's different..^ ^. For me, difference doesn't mean "bad".. I like it..:).

Lacrimosa: Not bad. I think that now, they have much enough experience for live performance of this song..

Mata kaze ga tsuyoku natta: I like kajiurago's part..lol. Hikaru's voice sounds a bit lack of power after that part...seem like she tried to shout out even she's so tired. Konno's violin is so awesome! and the keyboard playing is matched the song!! The whole song is ok for me. Again..someone's falsetto in some part sounds so similar to Yuriko's..lol. They did so cool at the ending part..(By the way..my written file has only the last part of this song..TT Most of the song is disappeared.)

Kyrie: I like this song performance..^ ^. Even Hikaru did some mistake in the middle, but the whole is ok... May be one of the best fast song that they performed in this live besides progressive.

Ongaku: A bit arrangement in this song sounds cool for me...^ ^. Keiko did well in this song! One of my favourite in this dvd..^ ^. (Even I don't like that Hikaru's chorus voice is so louder that it dominates Keiko's main voice in some part.)

After watching the live, I like the stage formation..^ ^. Let Keiko&Wakana be on the upper stage when they did their PEAK solo. Both Keiko&Wakana had chances to show their powerful voice...^ ^. All of them seem so lively and energetic..^ ^ especially Keiko.., and even Wakana..lol. Love the guitar&violin solo..!!! lol..

This perf reminds me the awesome Nowhere live in YK live4/1. Both songs can light up the stage and brought the lives to their peaks!! And this one is better coz I like Nowhere live because the song, the arrangement, the chorus, but Yuuka couldn't sing it as good as in the recording version. But Ongaku's perf sounds even a bit better than the recording one..^ ^. I also like the ending when Keiko ran cross the stage and said Arigatou to everyone..^ ^...so cute!!

Hikari no Senritsu: They did a good job even I feel that there is something lack in the melody... I prefer the previous one which I found on youtube, but I'm not sure where did that live come from...By the way, I love when they sang the bridge part. Also..during the hook parts when Wakana's solo...the chorus sounds so similar to Yuriko's voice...so it's Hikaru's falsetto??..O_o. (I heard it only when Hikaru raised her microphone...and that voice disappeared when she didn't) I also don't like the beat that they put in the music in the last hook..It sounds so..pop-like..= =. Their singing is good for me.., but what made me annoys is the music arrangement..= =.

For me...from Kyrie to Hikari no Senritsu are EPIC of this live!!!

Love come down: Umm..for me, Hikaru's sound is a bit annoying..quite like it isn't steady and smooth as it should be... Again..love Konno's violin..>//////<. I saw him leaping up&down with their song...lol. They moved and walked and jumped a lot..!! That may be the reason why I think that Hikaru's voice wasn't steady.

Sprinter: Wah.. I still prefer 4-vocal version..but all of them did a good work in this song.. So crazy with Konno's violin..again&again..Orz... For Keiko's high note part, I think it's ok..neither good nor bad. The girls did well, too...an energetic&lively song..

I have a dream: It's sweet...I like it more than the recording version..lol. I feel that the live version is more emotional..^ ^. Love the violin at the end.

I can't tell that who is the best between Wakana and Keiko. Both of them have their own role. Wakana can't sing the powerful alto voice like Keiko can and Keiko can't sing a soprano-style chorus like Wakana can. But if you justify from the prefectness of their singing, Keiko did better, but her singing part may be considered to be easier when comparing with Wakana's..

As for Hikaru, it's obvious that her voice is so different from Keiko's&Wakana's smooth polyphonic voice. But the difference from her voice gives some colors for Kalafina's song.., but the (very big) drawback is she's usually unable to blend her voice with the others..her voice makes so much difference that often break the equilibrium of Kalafina's voice..= =. (By the way, compare with many previous lives.., I think she did good in this live..more than 50% success..(but it's still not a large ratio..= =.))

Again...I can't watch the first part of the documentary...T T. By the way..I can watch their Ongaku perf in Hongkong... ah... I prefer Red Moon version...^ ^.

So..my favourites are

1. Ongaku
2. Red Moon
3. Kyrie
4. Aria
5. Intermezzo

However, it's based on my biased..., coz these are also my favourite song..lol. By the way, if you ask for the most impressing LIVE performances..songs that they did better than I expected, it may be I have a dream. I don't like the recording version, but I really think that this live version is so sweet and touching.

I too was pleasantly surprised by Hikaru's falsettos throughout the concert. Really, it confuses me as to how she can nail those falsettos perfectly yet never seem to be able to hit the right note at the end of her solo in progressive :uh..:
sometimes i wonder if hikaru should be the main falsetto part singer as her falsetto is probably just as good as wakana's while wakana has a better track record when singing the main melodies

funny, i think im the only one who cant tell if the singers are tired or not :omg:

and the only one who dislikes ongaku and mata kaze still... *hides from haters*

LOL I don't like Ongaku, neither live nor recorded, so I should be the one hiding :XD:
But Kagaribi no Hanabira pointed some interesting facts that I also noticed. I think she only mentioned it for ARIA, but Keiko's voice sometimes was higher than the one of the main vocal, be it Hikaru or Wakana. That shouldn't happen at all.
Also, they did perform better in the slow songs...well, because it's easier :XD: In slow songs, you really don't have to move around and what you really have to do is control your voice.
As for the comentary about them, well, I also agree that Keiko's role, in a sense, is easier than Wakana's role. Even if some backs from Kalafina's songs are sung in a different melody and all, you are still doing the back, so you don't have to use your voice as much as the main vocalist.
And Hikaru, from all three of them I think she is the one that has great potential. But she needs some kind of "monitoring", someone that will help her to develop her skills and soften her mistakes. A.K.A. someone that will tell her to stop shouting at songs like fairytale and Natsu no ringo :XD:

I'll never ever put my review here...:tea:
As pikachuwei said, do it :sparkleguy:

I also noticed these falsettos. I think I heard them even when noone was holding a mic near her mouth. And the voice... it didn't sound like Hikaru's at all, but like Yuriko's. That makes me think it was just a pre-recorded chorus by Yuriko :uh..:

My favorite:

Fairytale
Hoshi no Utai
I have a dream
Red Moon
Sprinter

(I really hope they would sing Seventh Heaven & Serenato in their live)

:rain:
