I also noticed these falsettos. I think I heard them even when noone was holding a mic near her mouth. And the voice... it didn't sound like Hikaru's at all, but like Yuriko's. That makes me think it was just a pre-recorded chorus by Yuriko :uh..:
rly? i only noticed them when the camera pans to hikaru LOL

(I really hope they would sing Seventh Heaven & Serenato in their live)

:rain:

Yes!! I'm hoping for that as well!

I think I'm the only one here whose favorite song in the live was intermezzo :XD:

funny, i think im the only one who cant tell if the singers are tired or not
In fact..I just guess from their voices whether they're tired or not..coz I know that what happen to my own voice look like when I'm so tired from singing almost continuously for an hour or more... :uh..: and if I heard the similar voice from them, I guessed that it's because they're tired. :XD:

And Hikaru, from all three of them I think she is the one that has great potential. But she needs some kind of "monitoring", someone that will help her to develop her skills and soften her mistakes. A.K.A. someone that will tell her to stop shouting at songs like fairytale and Natsu no ringo
lol..Agree!! :sparkleguy:

Ah..this is another possibility.. :omg: ..., but for me, it doesn't sound like pre-record voice.., but..I know that I have very low skill in voice discrimination... :blood:

Ah..I really love Intermezzo, too, but since it's too short.., my impression wasn't that big..it may be my No.1 Favourite if it's as long as other songs.. :XD: ..(The similar thing happened to me when I watched Piano short version in FictionJunction Live4#1)

For me..the song that I want to watch them singing in live is Ashita no Keshiki, Gloria, Lirica..lol. They performed Lirica in some live, but I haven't watched it yet. I think Lirica is a bit beyond Wakana's ability when I heard the recording one..so I wonder that how perfectly could she sing in live performance. And Ashita no Keshiki is my favourite new (in the sense that it hasn't been released in any single before) song in 7th heaven.

I finally watched it! I like the slow songs too, especially I Have a Dream. All the others weren't bad either. This live was so long compared to FJ. I guess the FJ ones had more MC. They did sound a bit tired before Love Come Down compared to Red Moon.

I lol'ed when they were walking around looking at the stars/snow during Fairytale. They also did this funny leg bob thing during either Storia or Hikari no Senritsu, forget which. :uh..:

Sony cutted some MCs

well ive never sang for a long time before so i cant tell

and i agree someone needs to stop hikaru from screaming :uh..:

the falsetto does kinda sound like hikaru, iirc in the Oblivious live she was doing falsettos as well. Its more that Hikaru's falsetto doesnt sound like her normal voice.

I reckon Wakana can pull off Lirica, after all, her performances in Mezame, Liminality and especially MATERIALISE were nothing short of astounding. The highest notes in Lirica is at most perhaps a semitone or a tone higher than everythign else shes sung before (in fact i think her parts in MATERIALSE and Liminality were just as high, iirc)

I just want them to perform Oblivious as good as the one in YK Opening or even better and im satisfied.

funnily enough i reckon that my favourite songs of the JCB live are different from the "best" songs, Sapphire and intermezzo were probably "better" than Red Moon/Yami no uta which were my 2nd and 3rd "fav" songs of the live. Good to see that Kyrie performance is universally acclaimed here though, for me it was definetely the highlight of the Live

They definitely still had pre-recorded tracks of Yuriko's and Hanae's voices in songs, but they weren't that loud, so it wasn't too noticeable.

Personally, I don't like Hikaru's falsetto. It's just always sounded so... strange to me.

Definitely agree there. She's my favorite because out of the three, I love her voice the most. It's so colorful and spirited but she undeniably has the least control of her voice and needs a vocal coach. She's one of those raw talents that needs buffering and polish.

btw i noticed there are some difference for backing instrumental in Progressive between the red moon live one and the single/album version :ayashii:

in red moon live i heard some missing lines in the guitar....

hmm..... does studio version of Progressive actually uses 2 backing guitars or Yuki rearrange it for this red moon live ? :confu:

I don't know about Progressive, but I think that this happens in sprinter.

Yes, you're right.. MATERIALIZE is a higher one and she can deal with it. So..that's why they should release some of Lirica live..XD.

Ah..in fact, my favourite voice (in an aspect of characteristic of voice) among 3 is also Hikaru, but she's still lack of voice controlling. I like how you describe her voice..lol. For me, Wakana's voice is white and creamy while Keiko's is black or deep blue/purple..only Hikaru's has a vivid colour like orange or red..lol..(Just my imagination about their voices... :ohoho: )

So my favourite (as a vocalist) in Kalafina is Wakana because her characteristic of voice and her skill are very proper with the songs that Yuki composed for Kalafina.

But among 3 of them, Keiko is the one who I admire the most. Because she has the low voice and is able to deal with the chorus part&the fast song nicely (someone is easily confused in melody when singing chorus or can't deal with the breath in fast song.), which are the abilities that I'm really really lack in singing..lol.

1. Praising Wakana & Hikaru
2. Bashing Keiko

Sure...Keiko can't play violin... :ohoho: .

I noticed this especially in Hikari no Senritsu. Hikaru seems to be singing the highest harmony in the chorus, but it doesn't match her voice. Plus, I was using headphones and in the chorus, the vocals come from the right speaker...but when Hikaru sings 'Hontou no itami ga', her vocals come from the left side since she's on the left side of the stage! I think they just had her lip-syncing along with the prerecorded vocals, which is a little irritating. It's fine if they're going to have prerecorded vocals - I didn't mind them in the Lacrimosa from a year ago - but having Hikaru pretend to sing is a little weird.

Aside from that, Hikari no Senritsu was nice. They all sounded very good, but I found that 'dancing' thing they did halfway through (during the flute solo) pretty strange. Whoever did the choreography needs to be replaced for the next show, I think :XD:

Also watched Ongaku. Epic! :sohappy: I love Koichi-san's guitar solo, and how Keiko ran back and forth at the end. I never really cared for Ongaku, but I love the live version :sohappy:

-intermezzo

Okay, I will finally post my review after watching it a few times (since I just received the DVD for Christmas.) It's a little long, so bear with me. heh

1. overture~Red Moon
I absolutely loved the live version of this song, it’s one of their most powerful songs I think, and it was one of the most powerful ones on the live dvd. I could listen to this one over and over, and I have been listening to the studio version of it more because of this version. heh
2. Te to te to me to me
This one was fun. I loved how the girls were dancing and were so energetic, and now it makes me want to dance that way whenever I listen to it. It amazes me that they can still remember the words as they are dancing so much like that. I loved this song before hand but now even more.
3. Fantasia
I wasn’t as impressed with this one as I was the studio version, I liked it live, but it didn’t have the same impact. I don’t know why.
4. Sapphire
I loved this song to begin with and I even played this song for a recital, so I already thought it would be great live. I liked their serious expressions and they really put a lot of passion into this song.
5. Hoshi no Utai
One of my favorites from the red moon cd, so I liked the live version.
6. Yami no Uta
To be honest I did not like this song until I saw the live version, and I don’t know why I didn’t before, maybe just because of the way it started. But now I love all of it, and the live is probably one of my favorites on the dvd. It’s a good song to be sung live, and I could listen to this many times.
7. Natsu no ringo
I actually liked the live version, there were a few parts of the song where Hikaru was a little loud, but maybe it was the microphone or the echoing of the room. She does do well on other songs such as ARIA and Mata Kaze ga… I was pleased with the song overall.
8. Fairytale
I liked how the song started, where the girls were looking around, and then were slowly moving throughout the song. Again Hikaru was a little loud in the Sayonara, but I did enjoy this one.
9. ARIA
Another one of my favorites on the dvd, it is so moving. They have the right pitch and everything. I’m glad this one turned out well, since it is one of my favorite songs of their’s.
10. Progressive
It was good, just not that impressed with it, I did like all the dancing again though. hehe
11. Haru wa Kogane no Yume no Naka
This was really pretty. Wakana has such a beautiful voice in this song, I agree she could pull off lilica (live), because of songs like this. I would like to see more slower songs done live in the future.
12. storia
I really love storia, and the live was as I was expecting, very lively. I was pleased.
13. Intermezzo
This one was great too even though it was a slower song, had a lot of emotion put into it, even though it’s such a light song.
14. Lacrimosa
I did not watch this one again, I may give it another chance since I’ll be watching it with better speakers.
15. Mata kaze ga tsuyoku natta
I really loved this one. I actually liked Hikaru’s aggressiveness in the song, this was another song that at first I did not like, but it grew on me.
16. Kyrie
Probably my most favorite one on the DVD. I absolutely loved the song to begin with, it’s in my top 5 list. I love the lights that start out the song, and all the way through it was just amazing.
17. Ongaku
Ongaku was good, another really energetic one.
18. Hikari no Senritsu
I liked the light-heartedness of this song to begin with, and the live was good. I did notice the lack of flutes until this song, when they actually had the flute but you couldn’t see it, probably because it was prerecorded. But it worked out and I always want to dance like they did for this song.
19. [Encore] overture ~ love come down
Since it’s my favorite Kalafina song I enjoyed it, especially the longer version. A couple of parts were a little rough maybe, but maybe since it was so late in the concert.
20. Sprinter
I actually liked this version of Sprinter, even though it was still not as good as the original. I couldn’t really tell if they were tired or not, although you could see it in their faces a bit, but not in their voices.
21. I have a dream
This one was amazing. It was a good way of ending the concert and I loved that they switched the flute with the violin, I think it would have been better that way in the studio version, even though I liked the flute. (I just really like the violinist heh) And I liked the shirts they were wearing heh, it was cool that even all the band members had them on too.

The DVD was spectacular overall and I enjoyed it all the way through, even though there were some parts that I wasn’t impressed with. They really did a good job and I will be watching this live many more times.

Well, I was trying not to do it, but here's my mini-review about the show.

(note: I will probably not make any comments about their stage performance, the review is solely about the performance itself)

Red Moon - This song used to be my favorite in the past, now it is the 3rd or 4th one :XD: But anyway...Keiko bothered me a bit in the song, mainly in Hikaru's part. Sometimes it was easier to hear her back than Hikaru's main vocal. I love her back, but I like Hikaru's part as main even more...so, yeah. Aside from that, the song was good. Wakana was good through all the song, and Keiko's wailing in the end was marvellous :shy:
Te to Te to Me to Me - Meh. This song did take it take to grow on me a bit, but it did. Nothing out of ordinary, but loved the beginning with the bass.
fantasia - Meh². Something was lacking, but I think it was the arrangement rather than the singers.
sapphire - Very good performance, in a way they performed the best in the ballads.
Yami no Uta - I already loved this song, but the guitar was just so epic that I love it even more.
Natsu no Ringo - Hikaru, don't shout. I like you so much, why do you keep doing that? :uh..:
fairytale - Wonderful, aside from Hikaru's sayonara. The kajiurago in the middle was just so beautiful, really moving.
ARIA - My second favorite song by Kalafina. Loooooved the arrangement to death, but I don't like Wakana singing that penult chorus. Hikaru also sounded a bit weird in the "kodoku no..." but the rest was great.
Progressive - The older version was better. The bass, the bass!
Haru wa Kogane no Yume no Naka - read sapphire
storia - I really don't know why, but this live made me really like this song.
Lacrimosa - Nothing out of ordinary here.
Mata Kaze ga Tsuyokunatta - Here, I didn't like Hikaru's performance at all. I like singers that have strength in their voice and Hikaru's definitely one of them, but she exaggerated.
sprinter - I didn't like the arrangement live. There's one guitar missing, and they were quite tired by that time. Still, it was better than I thought it would be.
I jumped some songs because:
1 - I didn't really hear the recorded version of the song before so I didn't in the show as well :XD:
2 - I did hear the song but didn't do it many times, so I wouldn't be able to make a mini-review of it.
3 - I like the recorded version of the song but for some bizarre reason didn't have the volition to hear it live :XD:
Overall, the show was good. In some songs, they really showed us all of the capacity for singing. In others, well, they failed a bit. But overall, I think what I like the most in the show was the bass :XD: I really love bass, it's so wonderful :dote:
