Earthquake & Tsunami in Japan 2011: Pray for Japan

Beginning tomorrow, there will be energy rationing in Japan. In Miyagi, there's the possibility of 10.000 deaths. I wish I could be positive about the current situation but everything I read leaves me far from optimist.

Just suddenly hit me last night that Miyagi Prefecture is also home to the very special island of Tashirojima, where most of the local populace there are cats and elderly folk (the cats actually outnumber the human population there).

I hope they managed to survive the initial quake and move to high ground...

Speaking of the energy rationing, did anyone know that it's unofficially being called "Operation Yashima" after the Operation Yashima in Evangelion?

There is even a NERV website explaining it.

hey everyone. thanks to the people who wished my family well. most of my mother's family lives in kamakura, so no damage there, but my dad's family lives in miyagiken and tokyo, so that's frightening. i haven't been able to get in touch with some of my family living in miyagiken, but i was able to get in touch with family in tokyo. i am proud how people in my country are helping and i would fly there to help if it were possible. my flight to japan was even canceled, sadly. please keep japan in all your prayers and let's pray for the ones who have sadly passed away.

:uh..: According to Fox, the latest official body count estimate is up to 10,000...

I also want to send all my prayers to japan and to cpm. I hope that you're all fine and your families too.

If i could and were in the appropriate position i would come to japan to help. If i were able to teleport, i would be there!

This is so sad!!!

Jasmin, ganbatte ne! All the best for you and your family during this difficult period.

By the way, Sakurada-san (the Kalafina keyboardist) posted some Twitter updates, so he's fine too :cheer:

EDIT

And Ohira-san, the manipulator for the live concerts. I check everyone that Kajiura-sensei follows :plot:

Things are settling, by the way. Good to hear. The worst part is gone, for what it seems. :TdT:

Re: Pray for Japan

This is really scary... I hope Yuki, Kaori, Keiko, Wakana, Yuriko & all our fellow CPMer and their family are okay.... (and also pray goes to Arashi and Perfume and their family too....)

I'm not sure about this but I heard 19 March is the day that the moon is so close with Earth.... Ugh~ i hope no more unfortunate things happen to any country.... :uh..:

thanks everyone for your wishes. i really appreciate it! good news: we finally got in contact with some of my family in miyagiken. so happy right now! we're still waiting for some to get in contact with us.

a little off topic, but i really want to get this off my chest. i experienced the most racist comment ever today. i was with my mother at the grocery store today, trying to get our minds off the tragedy, but we couldn't so we were talking about it while getting groceries. a man walked by and heard us and said "remember pearl harbor? it says to enjoy your tsunami, you japs!" i broke into tears, while my mother told me to ignore it. how can people be so arrogant and racist? i wonder how many people think like that. :/

Re:

This looks cool! There's a livejournal community where users put up various things for auction (offers for drawings/paintings/arts and crafts/themed packages/clothing, etc) and other users can bid on them. The proceeds go to relief funds for Japan.

@Jasmin: That's great! I hope you can get in touch with the rest of your family and friends soon.

Geez, that man's remark was horrible... please don't take his comment too close to heart. Those sorts of people have issues.

@jasmin: omg Miyagi :omg: thank God they're fine :touched:

and about such kind of people... they can just drop dead. :glower:

Re: Pray for Japan

@jasmin: just ignore him... He's a moron.... I hope you guys can get through this... Ganbatte!! :dote:
