Earthquake & Tsunami in Japan 2011: Pray for Japan

Same here. :leaf:
There is little info on Fukushima-2. From what I've heard, the situation at Fukushima-1 is thankfully unlike Chernobyl, being more often compared to the incident at some American NS in 1979. The reactor is intact so far, so instead of radioactive fuel it's vapor that leaks out. It contains mostly iodine izotopes whose half-value period is about 8 days, and this makes official statements about radiation decrease relatively more credible.
But the biggest problem now is to prevent a thermonuclear reaction in the reactor. If THAT were to end in an explosion, we might get another Hiroshima... :vortex:

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE? This news is nowhere to be found! God! :omg:

Kajiura-sama, please, bring Kalafina and FictionJunction along! Come live in Brazil! Run away from this chaos!

So far that seems to be a speculation rather than the news. Let's pray it remains as such...
And apart from Yuki and Kalafina/FJ girls, there is such a crowd of people there I'd wish to transportto Brazil or wherever, together with their families, that the only option would be hijacking the American aircraft carrier sent towards the islands.
And while we're on the utahime topic, what about Eri, Yuri, Hanae? :uh..: The ANN list is either omitting most singers or still lacking info on them. AFAIR Eri had a blog (at least two years ago), but I have no idea about the rest of them...

:uh..:

The nuclear situation isn't as bad as the one painted, really. Most of it are just hyperinflated speculah thanks in no part to media-hyped reports and interviews.

Too much play on "fear factor", really.

It gives audience. People love tragedies, blood-stained news and so. :uh..:

Now the media should let the rescue crew work in peace!

Please make sure that if you choose to donate, that the organization you're sending your money to is legit (ex: Red Cross is a safe bet, as are others on the CPM front page). Some people take advantage of disasters like these to scam others out of money.

PS: If you live in the US, you can text "REDCROSS" to the number 90999 to donate $10.

hmm, special_k looks like you know more about this Nuclear...

Can u tell us more about this Nuclear, K ? what exactly happened to the reactors and the plant ? :confu:

Re: Pray for Japan

I'm so glad the main site posted a link for donations. I gladly did my part - It's the least I could do.

I'm relieved that my friend in Tokyo is safe. She said that many were unable to go home that night and slept in gyms or outside where it was so cold, but they started to have a bit of 'normalcy' back. But I feel for those who were more heavily impacted in the north coast of Japan. My heart goes out to those who have suffered and lost. I pray for their well being... :uh..:

I'm also glad to hear that our beloved Yuki, ladies and gents are also safe. I hope they can do some sort of free Lives or something to give comfort and lift up the people's spirits. That would be cool if they could do that.

^ If there was an "Aid for Africa" or something, we must have an "Aid for Japan"! [I forgot the name of the funds-gathering project]

Ah, c'mon! Now we have an Emergency Situation at Onagawa NPP + Vulcan Eruptions? Are nature trying to obliterate Japan? :uh..:

:ohoho: :uh..: DAMN YOU ENTROPY! KYUBEY TO BE BLAMED! *trying to put a smile on some faces*

Oh, well... The press is a bitch. (Sorry for the bad manners)

The Onagawa NPP situation doesn't seems to be bad. Just an extinguished fire, and minor vapor released.

Edit: And there was a high level of radiotion, but they claimed :desksweat: :swt: :confu: it came from Fukushima!! I don't know this is even possible... There is some distance between them, according to the map I just saw.

Shinmoedake erupted. But that volcano is located at the South, far away from Fukushima/Miyagi/Sendai.

Oh, press, I hate you sooooo much. I don't wanna be that kind of journalist! :uh..: :blood:

And now I may sound cold and heartless, but, if the number of deaths ended like 2000+-, we can say for sure it was a miracle, since the strenght of both the earthquake and the tsunami.

actually more than 9000 people is missing... you know what happened in Miyagi and Sendai :...:

Re: Pray for Japan

Missing doesn't mean dead. :uh..: I'm being optimistic. And cold, heartless, maybe?

[I would be long gone if caught by the tsunami. I can't swim at all.]

I guess everything will turn up alright. If they built Nuclear Power Plant in an area prone to earthquakes and tsunamis, they already knew nothing major would happen. At least I hope so. :uh..:

[ :uh..: :desksweat: Just remembered I was planning to use a earthquake-user demon on the final part of my novel. SCRAPPED! ZETTAI!]

errr, looking at the scene in Sendai, particularly, I don't think there's any creature who's still alive.

:uh..: You are right, even though I will keep wishing for the opposite.
