Kalafina Best album

^Yeah, I couldn't really tell the difference of Maya's singing in sprinter... I know, hit me now. Is she the one in the very beginning? Or does she just sing in the background? Anyways, I am going to start to work on the scans, if anyone has the ones from the thicker booklets I would appreciate it, as I do not want to ruin them. And sorry if it takes me awhile to do them, this week has been filling up fast and is very busy for me.
 
Okay, I've got it. The 'bad' bit I remember starts around the three minute mark during 'Nohara'. I know that Keiko's voice is particularly powerful and resonant, but there's definitely some distortion/clipping going on. Maybe it's the so-so quality of mp3 that's at fault there?
 
Okay, thanks, now I recognize her voice. I thought at that part it was a different singer, but Hikaru sounds like her in this song, so it was hard to tell for me. I am glad that she got listed though.

heavenly blue is not as great as some of the more recent songs, like Tsuioku, but I still think it's okay. (Can't get used to Hikaru's parts, but love Keiko's loud part during the second verse.) There are some really great songs, like obbligato that I was kind of mad did not make it one of the best. (Still glad they sang it at ACen.)
 
^ Maybe because Yuki can make them however she likes and isnt restricted by the requests of the directors of the anime/game/other show the title song is going for (but I still believe that even on those she could do better... dreamscape is an example)
@grunty: is the album out somewhere or you're listening from the past releases?
 
So here are the scans for the Blue album, just the regular booklet that's inside the cd case. I will try and od the thick one without doing too much damage, but if I can't I am sorry. I only did the pics pages, since they are the best, the others just have lyrics with the stuff we already know.

I hadn't listened to the Kimi no Gin no Niwa single until, now and...I wasn't prepared for how good that song was. :@_@: The same goes for lirica and Utsukushisa...they deserve to be on an album!

They really do. Tsuioku, lirica and Utsukushisa are amongst my very favourite Kala tracks. The 5th Live version of Utsukushisa especially is amazing :love:.
 
Utsukushisa is one of my all time favorite Kalafina songs. It's just so sorrowful, I love it /emo
 
@Liana_Ilia can you scan the credits page alone in hope that letters will be more visible ?
(I have a 10 year old scanner from my father and does better job than yours seems to do, perhaps try to opt it a bit ? Tell me the model and I will find the manual and what you need to do :) )

Thats what I thought too. There was even a guy on youtube who made a rant on when people were comparing the girls singning aria live. His argument was that Maya wasn't even in the original aria recording so users shouldn't argue that the live sounded worse eg. The NHK 2009 aria live . Maybe Maya is inthe kajiura or in the chorus bit otherwise I have no idea >_<
 
^That NHK ARIA live is indeed horrible, but mostly it was Hikaru's fault (iirc, haven't watched that video in a long time, gonna watch it later). And the guy is my friend and an ex-cpm member, actually. But I do remember people comparing Wakana in ARIA and Maya in ARIA because of that video. Well yeah maybe she sings the Kajiurago in ARIA because the countermelody is done by Keiko in recording although Maya sang it in live vol.2 opening act/ARIA in SH DVD and that song is a solo by Hikaru, as Kajiura herself had said. Maybe she was credited as vocal because she's credited in the sprinter/ARIA single as well?

Hikaru may not have been great in it but IMHO it is Wakana who is quite something else there. Pretty sure that one triggered my Wakana hate train.

About ARIA studio version, Kajiurago possibilities aside I do believe Maya is only singing backup in "muzan na sora ga hikaru" and possibly "aria wo kasanete" in the 2nd verse.
 
^I think Wakana was bad but not as bad as in Hikari no Senritsu that they sing afterwards - really forgot about this performance, really have to watch it again later when I'm connected to wifi. I only remember HnS was that bad and only remember Hikaru was sometimes flat and sometimes sharp in the chorus and because she's the prominent vocal in ARIA I forgot about Wakana altogether. Maybe this opinion will change if I re-watch it, lol. (Edit) I actually have that video but I forgot where did I put it. Wakana was bad, and HnS is even worse, I don't think I can stand HnS after the 2nd verse. When was this performance held btw? 2009, 2010, or..?

Hikaru wasn't great but she wasn't permanently off like Wakana.

I'm sure everybody's hating on Hikaru mostly cause of that **** dance, lol.
 
In fairness though, their choreographer has never done a good job from what I've seen over the years. Whoever that person is, they need to be sent on the first train home and the girls told to just be themselves on-stage instead! :hide:
