1,5 month to release so maybe some promo pics will appear soon? (one light promo picture appeared at 9th June) I wonder which theme will be used: a boat, sea, lake, river, beach (mermaids :XD:!? It would look funny to see Kalagirls as mermaids)... It's a lot of ideas! I hope for beautiful, blue dresses :plz:

@nodame89 This happens when she catches one :plot::

Anyway, I think it would be cool if it had a lot of blue in it. And possibly a different Hikaru hairstyle...? She's had the same basic hairstyle since Heavenly Blue, and I think she's cuter with the longer hair, but that's just my opinion :XD:.

@sprinterXkyrie Yeah, the wet hair in the KSNSNW (hope I got that right :XD:) PV would be a nice touch for the FotW PV. And even though someone might have already touched on it, I think that Kalafina is re-releasing the heavenly blue PV with FotW because there wasn't a DVD/BD release for it when it originally released (only iTunes).

The wetness in the Kagayaku sora no shijima ni wa video always made feel uncomfortable.. Might be the nice dry-clean only dresses being drenched in harsh tap, possibly contaminated water giving me goosebumps :(

^I think they need to read our reports for the bday project first. I was reading them and I just got even more respect and love for Kajiura and Kalafina. They've traveled so much, and have so many songs now, that are successful even now.

At the core of things they're still a band, though, if the music ceases to be of any interest then that's a significant problem. It won't stop the girls from being amazing people nor will it change the fact that they've released numerous fantastic pieces of music over the past 7 years, but it will change how things will work out for future releases. If the new album does suck then I'll probably stop pre-ordering their releases, up until now I've done so upon the trust that there'll be something there I'll really enjoy and so far that's worked out, every release has had something great on it in my opinion. Even with Believe there was IEN and Lapis, I quite like RYB as it is, but Koibito is more the kind of thing I want, etc.

The pattern still hasn't changed, though, and that's why I'm hopeful. Even since their debut their a-sides have been the weakest part of their repertoire. Even back in the Seventh Heaven era where the a-sides were fantastic, they were outclassed by Serenato. I just hope that Kajiura pulls through with FotW and the album original tracks are at least as strong as After Eden's, if not better. That will be enough for me to keep interest. I'm a critical person and I'd say one who has a very wide variety of taste (pardon the narcissism) so even with my favourite artists there's always the chance that something will intercept if the quality starts to dip consistently. Will this change my opinion that their first four albums are near enough masterpieces? No, of course not. I still have albums I consider in such high regards from well over a decade ago, even from artists which have fallen far, far beyond where Kalafina is now. What the girls have done is done, and nothing will change that. The one worry I do have is that if the new album is awful throughout that their tour in October will likely play most of the tracklist and if I don't like any of it then that'll be taking valuable time away from vastly superior releases, but here's hoping that doesn't happen.

Edit: Since you brought it up, I'll just have to say that everything I wrote about the Japan Expo live in my report was fully sincere. That's how much I love what they've done, and that's what I want to see continue on. What I wrote when I gave the girls a note at the event was even more so, since at that time they were nearly faultless. I wish I had a copy of what I put down there since I wrote it in my hotel right before I met with them the last time. Being a critic and a realist though, I am worried and upset with the possibility of what is to come. I don't want it to end.

I couldn't agree with you more @Seasonreaper

Even though I love the girls, if the music sucked, I wouldn't call myself a fan anymore. Music is why I discovered them, why I stayed and will also be the reason if I left. My respect however they will never lose, they are talented and nobody can take that away from them.

Having said that, it's exactly because I love them so much, that I really want this album to be another masterpiece and it is still possible that it will indeed be that. I know Kajiura hasn't lost her talent or anything, the latest b-sides are all proof of that; the real issue is, what they want to do. Do they want to be as successful as possible or do they want to make the music as good as possible. Anison route is a pretty safe way to go, however it is heavily limiting their range of musical variety. In contrast to a lot of people here I actually didn’t completely dislike any of the latest singles, however it is a direction I really don’t want to see them pursue any further. On this upcoming album, we will see, which path they choose to go. One I will follow, the other I will not. It’s that simple.

On the topic of the album, I think/hope Kajiura will take this in a northern european folk direction. The album name reminds me of Scotland/Ireland for some reason, and her recent reacquaintance with Celt instruments leads me to believe that maybe we'll get a track with the hammered dulcimer. If we're lucky, we'll get something with the uilleann pipes.

Not really. Far on the water reminds of the other RHH songs after storia and as we know so far title tracks dont reflect the album style, see consolation and red moon
