Kalafina 18th single "One Light" for Arslan Senki [confirmed]

must be from Kalafina Club. duh the guitar is really annoying, the drumming isn't as annoying as I first thought. as expected verses-chorus x 2 then Kajiurago bridge (that is nothing special, very standard even I mean Kajiura your bridges used to be at least decent but 3 songs with alike bridges really) and omg the song frustrates me idk just listening to it once makes me weak (in a bad way). oh I remember the song reminds me of in every nothing in their restlessness (and I don't like that song either. heavy, but the song doesn't go anywhere. only makes me tired). definitely worse than believe. on par with snow falling and Haru wa Kogane to me - songs I keep for the sake of completion.

whether I'll buy this song or not depends entirely to the B-sides. if one of those is as good as lapis I'll buy it. (and I hope there be more Keiko in those B-sides. lapis is from October 2014 dammit, it's been 9 months already)

A decent song, finally. Not much originality, but aside from the crescendo part in the refrain I already mentioned and that, fortunately, comes only once, I may eventually enjoy it. But there, for once, I can't help but join the Keiko lovers: where's our contralto? So far she isn't French so she can't be on strike, then...? :XD:

Sounds too repeatitive. Because: beginning strings used the melody of verse, then we get the verse itself and the chorus, verse and chorus, bridge which has a random chanting and even more random guitar which fortunately connects well with the next chorus, and thats it. no interesting parts in the song, apart maybe from the harmonies. One can get bored of it within 10 listens, even if likes it on the first :S

okay this song really deepens my frustration towards Kalafina in general so I'll give them a chance until far on the water album (that is, if the album really comes out in September). if nothing impresses me by then I guess I'll say goodbye to Kalafina and start searching for another singer/group to follow. Some people will definitely find it better to have one less person to bitch about them in the forum. I might still follow Kajiura though, especially if they decide to release live vol.12 on DVD/BD because see-saw covers are too precious to be ignored.

I'm trying to convince you to changing side, y'know. progressive4lyfe.

Lol.. good luck.

One Light (Interrupted) Full Ver.

Thanks. I only like Hikaru's first line in the refrain. The bridge chorus and strings are yudodisagainKajiuraplz...

@ritardando nooooez dont leave without meeeeeeeeeeeeee~ I doubt I'd depart again so soon though... Maybe I'll ignore Kalafina threads...

Ya know, for once, I can't fully disagree. That's a thought that came through my mind by times since the first One Light preview (= the CM). Not as categorical as you, but still, even if I finally don't find this particular song as bad as I was afraid of, if Kajiura keeps on that way, I don't answer for consequences.

@grunty I honest to god I have tried to ignore Kalafina threads but most time curiosity gets the best of me and I can't keep my thoughts to myself. I'll try harder. I have to. :XD:

now that I think of it again their next album will definitely be not as exciting for me as before - since I already don't like half of the album material - unless by miracle Kajiura decides to ditch all the single songs and fill the album with whole new materials.

After listening to the whole thing... it's just alright, though the autopilot bridge is a little annoying. IMO One Light is more or less on the same level as RYB and TTB. They're listenable, and although I probably wouldn't put them on repeat, I wouldn't immediately skip over them if they came up on a playlist.

As far as I'm concerned, as long as Kajiura can continue to deliver tracks like Signal or Koibito on albums & B-sides, I don't mind her selling out a bit to appeal to a wider audience when it comes to A-sides.

Okay... we get it, you guys don't like Kala, but this is a Kajiura worshiping site, as the main site says. Yes, I have said some criticizing things, but not as much as some here. *sigh* Maybe it's because I've seen them live a couple of times, and each live is different, so I wish there was a recording of each one. But sometimes hearing the live will make you like the song, at least it did for me and signal.

Anyways... back on track. I will not listen to the full version. But wow, it's not out until Aug 12th! I am not sure I can contain myself, although I don't really care for the song. I really like RYB and especially TTB, so I might like this song later on. Though it sounds like the full version is weird.

Here and now we express opinion for the recording. I agree that they sound better lately on lives, or other times worse, depending on the occation. Grunty has stopped watching the lives so he no more has opinions on them ;)

One Light has the same structure like in HB and RYB (and similiar bridge, it was hard to listen) - so no suprises... :rain:

But I like verses of Hikaru and full refrain  I hope that I'll listen full version live and I would love it.

I might actually like the Hikaru/Keiko stuff in the beginning... but I dislike all of Wakana's parts, and as a whole it just sorta gets worse and worse for me.

I don't think that it sounds outright bad, but it's not a song that I would choose to listen to on any given occasion

Why did they have to speak over the song halfway through D: ... but so far I kinda like it more compared to HB and Believe.
