Square Enix announces Final Fantasy 10 remake for PS Vita - and PS3

:omg:
I like PS game the best.....

I heard that.I was surprised because i thought they were going for VII first? Either way,it's good news for me,as i loved X.Everyone hated cry-baby Tidus though. :XD: (well i didn't mind that)

Sigh, no 3DS in the list, and it will be a lifetime beforeI set my piggy-bank on the Vita course. Well, at least FF5 and FF6 are rumoured to be remade on 3DS.
As to FF7 remake, it was said that it's only possible if the original team gathers again, which isn't happening anytime soon... Then again, I don't remember such conditions mentioned for FF8 and FF9 - and honestly, I'd welcome their remakes much warmer than FF10.
I'm on the second CD of FF8 now, and have a chance of becoming its big fan in particular, since I find BOTH gameplay and plot standing out in the series. :ayashii:

...What in Gods' name is a vita? :confu: And I really want a remake of Final Fantasy Tactics, hopefully one where you can design the appearance of your generics, both face/hair-wise and in armour/outfits...?

But they won't do that. :...:

^ Ah, I see. Thank you for telling me.

I need to play Soul Calibur 4 again and make some new characters. :spotlight: I like customizing.

^ I don't have a PSP. I really want one, considering there's also a remake of Lunar: The Silver Star Story on there, too, as well as Persona 3 Portable.

I find PSPs extremely hard to handle when I've used my friends', as well.

FFIV save file erased... gonna start all over again...
why is it that i alwys lost interest when it's the final dungeon...

:uh..: poor you,how many hours was it?

I'm playing a game right now that is very similar to Final Fantasy series (well,it's better than the last FF games..) Xenoblade. If you are in Europe (because they still haven't realesed it in US) and have a Wii,you should try that out :sparkleguy: It's too good.

When will that Versus XIII come out... :uh..: also 'cause it looks like a game that Japanese might keep to themselves after all(like they did many times).

Currently on the third disk of FF8. It has a chance to become [one of] my fave in the series. It's just that BOTH gameplay and story appeal to me A LOT. :dote: Also, while all of my fave FF characters are female, Squall is probably becoming the first male one. :ayashii:

But damn, trying to win a specific card with the Random rule present is SUCH a damn chore... :blood: :ohoho:

^I like the idea behind the gameplay for FFVIII, but I think the execution had way too many flaws. As for story... ... ...
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

True, the pacing is soporific. Especially at the beginning. :ohoho:
TBH, I didn't realize I liked the plot until near the end of disk 2. It also took me a while to get to like Squall. On the other hand, I liked Rinoa almost from the start. :shy: :XD:

The gameplay is faulty in some aspects, too, but it feels SO different from all the previous FF games while at the same time I considered the ultimate evolution of the ideas that were born in FF3 and raised since FF5. :dote: Maybe if there's a remake sometime (yeah, right), they'll polish the system and execute it flawlessly this time...

There's a new FF called Theatrythm Final Fantasy.. its for Nintendo 3DS...right?

I have a strong impression that Squeenix was heavily inspired by Osu! - and I mean the fan PC game, not the original DS one. :psst:

The "theory" is different but the execution is the same. Attack, attack, attack, cure at some point, attack, attack, attack. It was also extremely easy to perform a limit break, the Junction system made the game extremely easy once you got the gist of it and so on. I think it would have been an excelent system if many changes were made AND if the game wasn't as easy as it actually is.

Actually, the battles changed most drastically for me. Prolonging a fight just to draw more magic from the enemy... Leveling it up to get better loot (and fighting it in a much stronger form because you just didn't have a spare slot for LV Down command to use after :XD: )... Not using magic (including curative, which may get tough for traditional players in the beginning) as most of spells only give good stat boosting when stocked to the max... And then giving all these troubles a boot to the head by junctioning Diablos with his Enc-none ability. :ohoho: :ohoho: :ohoho: All for being able to gather more status bonuses later and use grinding better (although by that time the player usually gets access to such good magic junctions that he most likely doesn't need Stat bonus abilities anymore).

I agree that the game can become WAY too easy and disbalanced. But it completely changed the stuff I usually do in RPG battles. I think last time in the series it happened to me while playing FF2. Yeah, the game where you basically spend the fight wacking each other for better HP/defence growth and hope that the enemy won't run away in the meantime. :XD:

Then again:

I think it would have been an excelent system if many changes were made AND if the game wasn't as easy as it actually is.

Can't argue with that. :plot: Like I said, I really wouldn't mind Squeenix to revisit this system sometime and make [even?] better use of it. :plz:

The restriction of magics would have been fantastic if, and only if, the game didn't provide you with maaaaany options to overcome this difficulty. You can refine items and have your magic back (just to mention, those items aren't difficult to be found). Also, most enemies will die fairly easy with attacks. The curative spells will become useless even for junctioning later in the game. In fact, I don't even recall using Curaga. I mainly used items. You can even have Curaga by the first CD and just junction it to your HP, occasionally spaming Limit Breaks because you'll be in "danger" as soon as you have -1000 HP, and that by the first CD is actually pretty normal. There were plenty of magics that I didn't even bother drawing because they were useless for practical use and for junctioning as well. That's why I say: FFVIII becomes dull as soon as you really get the gist of the system.

It's not even refining magic. The biggest walking cheat engine is the ability to cast drawn magic immediately. Your enemy is at the same time your spellbook. :XD: And if they happen to have curative magic... :ohoho:
And later you get GF abilities like Recover, Treatment and Revive which do all the health care for free as well...
And later you can find magic to junction to element defence that will make you absorb a major part of damage...
And we're talking it all given that you actually still fight someone except bosses and Cactuars at this point. And level grinding is not that beneficial in the game.
Truly, it must look like the weirdest JRPG of all times.
:XD: :XD: :XD: :XD: :XD:

Dunno, maybe these issues appeared due to Sakaguchi & Co making two FF games at the same time (FF9 was being produced simultaneously, and judging by Sakaguchi's affection to it, he might have spent more effort working on this installment). Usually Final Fantasy games are more balanced (or swing to the other extreme like FF3 with its conspicuous lack of save points in dungeons).

EDIT: forgot another delicious thing - it's the first FF that gives you money literally for walking around. :XD:
Meanwhile... I'm past the space scene.
Screw it, I like this game despite whatever... :TdT: :TdT: :touched:

^Oh, don't get me wrong. I like the game as well...even if I'm not that fond of its story and its cast (what? lol). Its atmosphere (world + OST) is simply fantastic and some points are just too wonderful (love the Gardens' clash). But when I think of the system and about how it could have been awesome but turned out to be almost like a permanent "game shark", I get a little carried away lol

+ 9000 :sohappy:
The game features a lot of good tracks, including my fave variation of Chocobo song. And I really admire the setting - IMHO it's a textbook on how to create good non-medieval fantasy.
