There are many examples when people start disliking something only because they consider it overhyped (Touhou, anyone?). :...:

there's a huge chance FFV and FFVI be ported to 3ds

anyway, me NEW  copy of FFTA2 OST arrived.
I will not part with it again... :knife:

It was said that remakes of FF5 and FF6 were considered for DS, but Square Enix wanted to make it more spectacular than the system could provide sourses for. Now, with 1,5 Gb storage and a more powerful CPU at hand... a huge chance indeed. :stars:
I want Faris to be voiced by Chiwa Saitou or Maaya Sakamoto
AND I REALLY HOPE THEY MAKE THE DESIGNS BASED ON SNES SPRITES, NOT ON THE ALBINO NIGHTMARE THE PSX VERSION MADE OF AMANO'S DESIGNS. :listen: :knife:

I disagree. I think they should just adapt Amano's designs (aka they don't need to put purple lipstick in the male characters), but some SNES sprites are...stupid, to say the least (Celes, I'm looking at you; although Amano's version was stupid as well...a yellow point in the map).

Ah, I have nothing against FF6 designs, I was referring to FF5. While the character sprites might seem a bit childish, they can be reworked into something more mature and elegant for ingame models and cutscenes - but please, no more of what I saw in PSX version intro and what then made its way into GBA version portraits. I generally like Amano's designs, but FF5 was a fail on his part, imho. :uh..:

Ahhh, the FFV's CGs from PSX were a complete fail, with or without Amano's designs. I like some designs from FFV, like Bartz (although I surprisingly like Nomura's adaptation from it) and Lenna. Krile was a tragedy, though.

Dunno about Lenna, I'm more used to the hairstyle and colour her SNES sprite sported. And since when did Bartz start wearing earrings? :XD:

Agreed :desksweat:

I missed old FF.... 8 is one of my favorites.. in fact i like every FF before 10.
12 is too short... or maybe i didn't go deep into the story.....

XII is by no means short, in fact they cut some parts of the game. I'd say you didn't go deep into the history that, although a good one, wasn't well shown in the game sometimes.

^ Then i need to re-play the game. when i completed the game i was like.... :confu: ... haha!
But 12 is still better than 10.. and i yet to play 13... i wonder when is that.... :uh..:

currently finishing crytal chronicles ring of fates

next echoes of time :XD: :XD: :XD:

Can they be played without beating the original FFCC first? I usually opt for playing a series in order, but Gamecube emulation is tough for my PC. :XD: And the DS installments interest me, they're very Landstalker-esque. :dote:

the ffcc series is only by name, i think?
the story's different for each game

@nick: I play FF7 then 6 :XD:

Anyways, I really want to play Itadaki street special.... But can't find it.

The only Final Fantasy games I like are Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy IX and Final Fantasy X.

(Touhou, anyone?). :...:

My friend likes that.

^ many people do, but there are also lots of haters. :uh..:
I've personally just started digging this franchise... and I still can't beat the first game. :@_@: :XD:

Oh, I don't really like it. The characters aren't fleshed out enough for me, and Deathsmiles is a good enough bullet hell in its own right if I want to play a game like it.

I love the soundtrack and the character designs, though, and there is some wonderful art for it.

That's true. Characters are shallow (although that didn't prevent me from liking Reimu and Orin :psst: ), but considering that the universe already counts more than a HUNDRED of them, and that even shallow character development is a rarity for shoot'em'ups, it's quite nice. Touhou's value, though, does lie more in music, art and other related stuff than in the games themselves. :ayashii:

Thanks! But er... how to play it? Emulator?
It's been a long time since I last installed an emulator in my PC....

Well, you can try burning it to a CD, if your PS2 is able to play such ones. Can't advise anything with emulation - I don't emulate PS2 because my PC is a bit too weak to provide good speed with it (meaning it'll be a long time before I can play FF10 and FF12  ).
Btw, I resumed playing FF8 yesterday. :sohappy: Just reached Galbadia Garden, so there's lots to do.
