Some stuff from Shikata's official site:
  • She will be doing the 2nd ending theme for Akatsuki no Yona. Will be used from January. (Edit: From January 20th from what I gather.)
  • Her first two doujin vocal CDs (Midori no Mori de Nemuru Tori & Haikyo to Rakuen) are no longer getting pressed. Get them while they are in stock in shops if you care.
  • Gust will release a special compilation of nosurge songs on Comiket. Only thing new is Mitose's Class::EXSPHERE_NOSURGE;～Original.
Still no news on her original Comiket release. Hope it wasn't delayed. :/

And yes, that Mizuki song is composed and arranged by Shikata. It's the insert song from episodes 1 and 9. It was in the credits of ep1. ;)
 
oh that's nice! I always love Nana Mizuki's voice but I dont like most of her songs due to the boring composition they usually have (except heart shaped love or eternal blaze and some others I dont remember :) ) so a song of hers with good composition is a nice change :D
 
New insert song 永遠語り～風ノ歌～ by the new character Sala (堀江由衣) and 永遠語り～El Ragna～, which is some mishmash remix of both inserts. Same credits as before, Hibiki on lyrics and Shikata compose/arrange.

Forgot to say that they sound cheap at first listen. :p

I do read but sometimes im lazy to search back XD

that's sweet, so far I really like the musics/songs and since I havent watched Gundam or Macross I dont have any deja-vu as others have, as for the plot :)
 
In ep 12 there's a HUGE plot twist, I am loving this <3

Also there's a bgm after that twist with Shikata singing "Angelise" and some other words that sound like italian

  • Shikata is providing vocals for the opening theme and BGM of NHK drama Hanamoyu. Composed by Kenji Kawai. The first OST is scheduled for Feb 4, 2015 (VPCD-81825). Full details here and copied below so I don't forget.
  • A 2-track disc called Sorso will be released during Comiket next week.

So I guess Okashi, the traditional Japanese inspired CD that got announced last Comiket, got delayed...

The PV on Hanamoyu's official site includes Shikata's track @1m50s. I think Kawai would be better off using an actual soprano, but maybe Shikata's voice works for the show.

Edit: About Cross Ange OST1. The first soundtrack covers the first two episodes only (but completely). Considering I was disappointed with ep3 music, I think this is a pretty good soundtrack. ;)

@ grunty: That trailer was interesting. I agree that an actual soprano would sound better, considering the rest of the chorus on that song is real

about ange: I havent listened to it yet so i cant say an oopinion yet, but im sure that music was used in more episodes :P
 
Of course the music from eps1-2 appeared later, but don't expect any music that started getting used in ep3+. ;)
 
hmm. mmm. it's really something. love the way every track has its own touch to it.she must be working really hard...
I hope there is/will be an instrumental for the second track.
while sometimes the usual shikata vocal tracks like Pianto seems a bit forced, they are ok.

my goodness. I've been listening to Ginshu's Theme and Hakoniwa no Soto de ~Agnus Dei from Hanakiso orchestra album for years without knowing it's from Shikata! Actually the whole album... it's sooo good.
