Akiko Shikata

That short Comiket song, Sorso, is so bleh. The opening instrumental is good but then the vocals start and it goes to mehville. She seems so into it and her Turaida singing style yet I feel she's singing about nothing... BLEH. Orgel track seems to be a preview of Okashi but it's hardly "inspired", just traditional...

funny I haven't listened to the actual soundtrack. I'm fine with my orchestra versions :)
I just listened to Flower Garden or 花帰葬 and the vocals are bland though instrumentation is good.

Well, while I also like the orchestra arrange more (the arrange wasn't done by Shikata if you didn't notice BTW) I think the soundtrack is a fascinating look into Shikata's musical journey. It is worth remembering that Hanakisou is a doujin game originally and the OST was done even before she got signed on to a major label and did her first major album, Navigatoria.

Heres the game version of the opening from the OST (2003) and the full version from Navigatoria (2005):

I have a lot to discover still. I will listen to the whole soundtrack soon.

the fact that it was doujin is important, it might have allowed more freedom to pour her creativity and perhaps naivete. yeah I noticed it was arranged by someone else. a commentator on youtube compared the music to Bizet's haha.

Ya, she only arranged like two or three tracks on the Symphony disc. As for the doujin status, well, creativity is one thing but it also was one of her first works and it sure sounds like that, lol.

No diss.

Up until Turaida I was really hoping she would re-record her first two doujin vocal CDs for some anniversary cause I can't listen to them despite considering the music great and incredibly ambitious. Her singing and overall quality of the recording on those CDs are... Ugh. But then Turaida came and I didn't think much of it ever since. :p

Turaida is bliss indeed.

just started listening Leyre now. I like the vocals but I like instrumentation even more. (but this could be due to the fact I value the instrumentation in a song more, in general)

what's the realise you are talking about for a while ?

Turaida is bliss indeed.

Turaida is the most disappointing thing she's done for me (other than the live DVD we shall never speak of again of course). ;P I always skip the first 4 tracks and then the rest is hit/miss and. A very unpolished and empty album, IMHO.

We were talking about this orchestral arrange https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBT9WmbWtbE and the original soundtrack for Hanakisou.

really? I quite enjoy it haha :D although my familiarity with her earlier works is almost non-existent so I can't make a comparison although Hanakiso orchestral album is much better.

New version of 永遠語り~光ノ歌~ this episode, as sung by Embryo (Toshihiko Seki)

Going by the new key art and OP I think it's safe to say Salia (Eri Kitamura) will sing a song. And with the above Embryo development I'd say it would be a shame if they didn't get Tusk (Mamoru Miyano) to sing one as well, lol.

Also from the OP, so are Tusk and Embryo destined to be lovers and enemies like Ange and Sala? LOL.

my question was about Embryo and Tousk, I dont remember any scene where they look like lovers :XD:

Well, maybe not yet... What I was saying in my post is that I'm curious IF they are implying that they are the male equivalent of Sala x Ange (who may be destined be lovers/enemies no matter the time, as far as the ridiculous montage in #11 seems to suggest ).

Reasoning: OP shot below + Embryo singing + Tusk recognizing the song in #13.

:nophoto:

This is also the shot (along with the new key visual where she has a new outfit) that tells me Salia is probably going to sing a Towagatari, too.

^ I dont remember well but in the episode in whih he was alone with Ange on the island she had sung it and that's why he's recognising it, but if you see he doesnt know that the robot loads an attack when Embryo sings that, and that's why Ange sped up to take him out of the target area. - which probably means he has no past with Villkiss kind of robots ?

I even went back and checked cause I didn't remember it and nope, couldn't find such a scene.

What does this have to do with anything I said? lol.

I don't know how you can even say that, considering his past (child to a norma from Arzenal and seemingly one of the Ancient People) and him being pretty tech savvy (fixing the Vilkiss in #05), his relationship with Alektra and then her past and her knowing more about DRAGONs than she's letting everyone know...

^ well, being able to fix it doesnt necessarily go along with knowing all its functions considering that even Alektra didnt know how to fully unlock the weapon, so we can assume Tousk doesnt know either. you're right about the first part.

Dude - does Ange have any clue about the Vilkiss or anything else in this show? She has the ring, she sings the song which she knows from her mother and magic happens.

Tusk knows more than Ange.

PS. What I said was just my SPECULAH and expecations based on what I stated, IMHO it has basis in the show. ;) Just like Salia joining Embryo (like Nina joined Nagi in Otome). Doesn't mean it's going to happen...

^ haha yes I know :)) OP / EDs tend to be misleading sometimes

no she didnt, it just happened, but I was talking about Tusk. :)
