Am I the only one who liked this rendition of paradise regained...? :spotlight:

Longtime forum lurker here. You're not the only one. I liked paradise regained quite a bit, thought Wakana gave a great performance. [Wakana on Hikari no Yukue though... ehh]. I love Wakana, but it has honestly been a while since I've gotten the feels from her. This performance struck me hard. Her delivery in the beginning of paradise regained harkened me back to Haru wa Kogane from the Red Moon live.

That said, I've been lurking here long enough to know that Wakana can elicit some pretty -strong- feelings one way or the other regarding her current voice... The way I see it, as long as she "sounds" more-or-less in tune and doesn't strain, I'm not too bothered by the "honk" she has undoubtably developed over time. But I do miss how she sounded back in 2009.

^ Oh, yay okay! :ohoho: Well, I'm just glad she seems to have improved since her 'bad patch' in 2011/12, I mean, I thought she sounded pretty good in Type Moon and in this YK live...but I have some suspicions (based on purely on speculation, mind you) that her current voice is less tiring for her to sing in than her old one, even though it might not sound as nice (e.g. comparing the older version of SH live from the 5th ann. live CD and the newer version of SH live from Type Moon, in the CD version where she uses her old voice, her solo sounds awesome, but straight after that she seems to run out of steam and barely gets some of the notes in the next verse out. In Type Moon, her solo doesn't necessarily sound as good but she is able to sing every note afterwards without dying out). But probably I am mistaken. I don't think anyone really knows what the real story is except for Wakana herself.

@Animexcel: I think dando meant edited = Studio magicked rather than something cut from the song...
Although...both performances sound almost the same to me? :desksweat: *has insensitive ears* :ohoho:

Thanks for the mp3s, Kith! And isn't that arq's youtube? :ohoho:

By the way...dando and grunty, how does Wakachan not sound like herself in MLFCS? :confu: (once again...I can't hear anything lol...) :spotlight:

aki's rip is slightly out of sync between video & audio (or its the same as in the original dvd/bd?). but thanks so much for the upload aki!

I see. I wasn't sure if vol 7 was officially released in any form, but seeing this "leaked" version; I don't know why you would see it edited in the first place.

What I meant was lyric and melody wise were the same, not performance. Sound quality is obviously different.

It's just a matter of taste. For me, the unedited live vol.7 has this cheerier atmosphere, and the girls sang it more freely (at least it was, for me). And the fact that live vol.7 has a LIVE flute, and not a pre-recorded one.

And I say it was unedited because the "leaked" live vol.7 is a concert bootleg, without post-recording process whatsoever.

I'm leaning toward vol. 9 because it felt more controlled and it sounded more crisp and hearing the instruments clearer. I heard sounds I didn't in the bootleg. I wasn't aware of the flute thing, it still sounded awesome though.

That live vol.7 recording was a bootleg, so most likely the person who recorded it only use his phone voice recorder or standard recording device, so it's impossible to get a crisp and clear instruments record. Like what I've said, I prefer the live vol.7 one because of the song atmosphere and the way the girls sang it.

After all, it's a matter of preferences. Why does it seems like it's bothering you A LOT that I love the live vol.7 bootleg more than this one?

It's not bothering me. I just want to say why I like vol.9 over 7. It's all cool.

^ Well, we will get a live flute in volume 10 (-:.

Yes! and with Eri Itou! hopefully :)

:plz: first of all.. thank you (again) Aki for the share..
i don't think i need a blu-ray rip.. this is enough..
but i still want the rip of blu-ray's behind the scene..
hehehe..

:glower: for people that have a problem with the A/V out of sync.. try to watch it on VLC media.. WMP won't play the rip perfectly..

:dote:
and here is my review for YKL vol#9

they should extended "let the stars fall down"

keiko in "I swear" is a big surprise for me because i hate the studio version and i never heard the unedited YKL vol#7 .. ... anybody could give me a link ?? hehehehehehe.. arigato~~~ thank God keiko made me love this song now.. i only want to hear keiko version.. period..

the numbers of english songs here surprised me the most.. all the girls really concentrated when they performed a song in english.. they work hard..

the 3 missing MC's make me tired.. feels like there's no break and i feel overwhelm.. and not in a good way.. i wonder what things Yuki talk about.. what joke that we missed.. an additional 10-15 minutes for the MC's wont hurt..

they should extended "Ensei/Himeboshi" .. a additional 5 minutes for this song won't hurt right ?? especially the studio version when at the end of the song, the melody went up.. i love that part.. it's a conclusion part.. it's the sweet part of the song..

"Duran Shoukan" .. i think the part when Hanae left keiko and yuriko to take the main melody .. yuriko messed up a little bit.. she supposed to sing the high part.. instead, both of them sing the low part.. but that's not a problem.. they still sounds awesome..

"Mezame" yes.. Hanae rendition is very unique .. the last part when she took the melody high.. epic .. i just feel sorry for her, because she got shocked by the bass+drum+guitar at the beginning transition.. hahaha.. you can see it on her face that she is genuinely shock.. but she pull her self together.. very professional.. i just wish that the editor didn't include that moment..
unlike what keiko did on vol.#2 houseki's end.. the dramatic loose my breath .. hanae is genuinely looses her breath .. but she is a professional and go on with it.. i salute her..

"everlasting song" umm.. could somebody tell me, what song that they sing before the real everlasting song sung ?? i have no idea i'm new .. i like Asuka, she's very energetic.. i prever her then yuuka .. .. this is my personal opinion .. .. don't hate me .. .. please .. .. .. love me ... ... ... please .. .. the strings that they pre-recorded for this live is well executed .. especially in this song ..

"Zodiacal sign" kaori missed her cue and start doing the rock star "everybody sing" unnoticeable .. almost flawless .. a little happy accident that made this one stands up .. she looked tired tho..

i feel sorry for keiko for standing on heels and sings more then 20 songs..
she is fierce.. what a true inspiration..

wakana didn't sing much here.. she took rest a lot.. need to watch kalafina to see her shine.. she got the voice of angle..

yuriko kaida .. the hell with her microphone.. the volume always low.. she yelled really loud during her solo part yet we could barely hear her.. she is so underrated.. wish to see her more..

kaori .. flawless .. i hope her solo album rocket up to the moon .. the girl got talent and she know it .. her diversity is out from this world ..

Last words:
~
i hope yuki will produce more and explore more .. and i wish she could produce music for top anime more and more .. vol.#9 is the oxygen that her fans need .. hope for more to come..

It seems to me that some people confuse the vol 9 Aug31 streamed with vol 7. The only common thing they have is that they are both non-post processed, oh and some songs too.

does anyone have vol7 in mp3?

@rita: How a chipmunk sounds?

Win:
Everything from Hanae,
I swear, Kaze no Machi he,
Hikaru no Yukue.

And although I don't like ASUKA's Voice nor the song, but it is nice to see the original singer appears. Hats of to her.
I wish she gets more songs from Yuki.

@George :
I think what grunty means about "chipmunk voice" is like the chipmunks in Alvin and the Chipmunks. Wakana's voice in my long forgotten cloistered sleep, AnimeLo Parallel Hearts and this live Parallel Hearts have that kind of voice quality. It's kinda high pitched and sounds like her voice-muscle being pinched (or something like that).

^ Oh, so that's you guys meant :XD: I don't really hear the chipmunkiness myself but I suppose she does sound different. (You had me imagining Wakana inhaling helium... >.>)

@george: do you mean that vol. 7 audio that Kowz 'bartered' from YT?

^ Oh right XD wait for my pm and I'll send it to you cbb searching for the original link again

EDIT: sorry, george, this might take longer than I expected ==;

Where did you get that? There's no high part in the CD version there so I wonder...

^the middle when keiko join/hanae sing solo..
the recording is a steady high and low, because it's a recording..
so.. yah.. i think yuriko supposed to go high, replacing hanae, when keiko came in..

don't worry about it.. it's just my opinion..
:uh..:
