No, we certainly don't want the disaster known as "Natsu no Ringo LIVE"! :XD: I meant to be more specific with the lower range notes that WAKANA is assigned :p

Lower range, sure. Wakana's voice is barely audible in her lower range, like in Magia when she sings "toki wo koete". But noo, let's have Wakana sing that, even though Keiko is clearly ideal for that line! :stupidbox:

So what? That is my opinion
okay spongebob squareihaveanopinionpants, calm down. i obviously agreed with your opinion because i liked your post. duh?
however, there are a lot of members on this forum who have extremely opposites of yours and will actually get hostile towards you.
like seriously, it was so damn obvious.

that ain't wakana in the recorded version. don't care what anyone says. kajiura always does some weird stuff for live versions of songs just to put wakana in the spotlight i just don't see the purpose.

Oh I know that. I should've specified it was the live version. Hikaru sings those lines in the rec version.

About the second thing, could you tell me some other examples? Can't remember any other times it happened.

Put Wakana in the spotlight? You mean giving her a single line in a song she would pretty much otherwise have no lines for is putting her in the spotlight? Did Wakana kick your dog or something?

What the hell happened to this thread. It's the YK12 thread and we're here talking about how Wakana spat on Hikaru and locked Keiko in a room somewhere while laughing in Kajiura's embrace.

Her part in ARIA lives. She's not powerful enough at all. Kajiura gives her parts that are too big for her.
And I'll never get over the image theme of Xenosaga II. *sniff*
I mean, she has a nice voice hence why I loved where the lights are and some other songs but she really cannot handle powerful songs at all.

Did I hurt your feelings? Good thing I don't care. Bye Felicia.

ARIA: I don't like how she sings it either. Maya was perfect when she sang it in YKL2. I wonder if Keiko would sound good. She tends to be a bit shouty on higher notes.
Image theme: Her voice is indeed weak for this one. It's weird because in YKL2 her voice sounded full, like it could handle this song, but then the live album came out and it was kinda sucky. And it's even worse now that her voice changed. Keiko would definitely be a better option for this one.

1. The first and the main rule is to respect each other. Don't be rude and don't insult the others (being passive aggressive counts).

You don't have to agree with someone to respect them. Some of us are hoping some day to get to a live performance, and some of us have seen several live performances, including ones that haven't been released on CD or video. None of us have seen every live performance by Kalafina or FictionJunction, so it's good to qualify opinions by what recordings or performances you have heard.

Back to the subject of Yuki Kajiura LIVE vol. #12 / "7days" "Orchard" Special...

Exactly. TRal is right, her falsetto is great...when its not too much for her. Like I'm not gonna expect her to be able to sing with as much force as Kaida or Kasahara but she can do the softer songs. Like saints, she'd be perfect to do that live since we know darn well Kajiura isn't gonna sing it herself. But if they were to perform something like "walk on your destiny" NOPE.

And Keiko got singing problems too. Probably can control her voice better than Wakana but she can go crazy. Like Live Vol. 2 in Houseki...Houseki isn't that type of song. Thats why Live Vol 4's version was magical.

Hikaru sometimes screeches like that change from the recording in destination unknown.

They all got problems.

"Your tone seems very pointed right now."

Lol. Should i start snapping my fingers and go "yaaaaas qweeeeen"?
Can't tell if racist or not.

As much as I like the girls, I really think it's time to add more singers to the group. I truly believe that a part of Kajiura's current stagnation comes from the fact that she just works with the same voices over and over again.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure grunty's remark is just a reference to a reality TV show with very sassy competitors.

IMO her problem is that she's so obsessed with certain voices that she doesn't venture out of her comfort zone. Like she can try some other stuff where Keiko is the melody with Hikaru as lower harmony and Wakana is higher harmony, or stuff where Kaida uses her operatic voice as lead with the other girls supporting her. Its the same thing over and over and thats why some people are fed up. They're all talented and they all have the strengths and weaknesses so why not utilize them? She really can't expect us to accept that "Keiko's strength lies in her ability to support" stuff while I'm pretty sure Wakana gets tired of having to lead so many songs while singing live. She's not Kaida. Keiko has the most powerful voice out of all of them but barely gets to show it off. She should also try some new stuff like I dunno what the hell I loved about those believe verses but they were new and fresh and thats why its one of my favorites. It even shocked the hell out of me that I liked it so much.

And OK, thats acceptable. I thought he was just using racist stereotypes.

Not just to the groups, but also for her soundtracks. As much as I adore Eri, and love Yuri and Hanae, she really does need to work with new people. I wouldn't even mind if she worked with more classically trained singers, like Yucca or KOKIA, but just try something at least slightly different.

One major example of this is "Mizu no Akashi".. I was gravely disappointed listening to her rendition. The vocal range is lower in this song for her and it's so plain... She did NOT deliver the song for me. Same with "I have a dream". The first half of the song being just her was dry as the Sahara.. I admit it was "peaceful" but I just felt no dynamic in her voice.

Her head voice (i.e. liminality, where the lights are, hikarifuru, love come down) is where she truly shines in my heart.

I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with you and TRal there. I've always been fond of Wakana, but with the way her head/falsetto voice sounds now, I just don't fangasm over her high notes like I used to before 2011. These days her upper range is like a skinny vanilla latte: one-note flavor, with little color and no oomph. It gets boring after a while, and it just can't compare anymore to the dynamic & full-bodied macchiato that is REMI or Hanae Tomaru's voices, for example.

As for her chest voice... I'd like to hope I'm not the only one who enjoys her lower voice. IMO it took less of a hit compared to her upper range after 2010. Her lower range still has qualities of her old voice that I fell in love with so many years ago. Though it can be just as stale as her head/falsetto voice (gaika & kimi ga ita monogatari come to mind), her chest voice is still certainly capable of expression, if Koibito is any indication. It's not a surprise to me that she wept during the recording since the palpable desperation in her voice goes above and beyond her typical sad tone. I'd love to keep hearing that kind of voice from Wakana, not so much the skinny vanilla latte version of Wakana's voice that I've grown weary of hearing in songs like historia opening theme (after 2010), RYB or TTB.

Anyway... to try and connect this with vol.#12 so that this isn't totally off-topic... uhm. A release would be great?
:groucho:
