Yuki Kajiura Birthday Project 2013!

Wow, I've been waiting for this project :sohappy:
I like casie's suggestion, and the landscape album :dote: Ok, here are things I can do for the project: playing the harmonica (I suck at this, so don't count on it ...) and help with stuffs related to grammar and/ or spelling check in English.
About the ideas, I think in the 2012 BD thread we did discuss some things to do this year, but all I can remember are:
1. collection of some YK-related statistics. Ex: How many times has the keyword "Kajiura Yuki" been searched on Google, how many countries have YK fans in CPM, etc. I don't know how it could be done specifically, but somebody did state that collecting that kind of data is possible.
2. a blank music disc from ... the Beatles' time (I mean, the big and black disc, dunno how to play it though) with certain songs of hers recorded in it. I think we can use this to store song covers in case we choose to cover songs.
3. An album with pictures of anything with captions related to her lyrics. Ex: pic of a moldy cake on a silver dish --> caption: "silver dishes for the memories for the days gone by" :ohoho:
I don't remember anything else, sr. May try reading the whole 2012 thread again for ideas but I'm only taking a short break from doing homework, so not now.
For now I don't have any interesting ideas for the project :bow: I'm trying to think of one.
Actually I do have one but my head is messed up right now so it may seem freaky. We can write her a message/ song/ give her a book in/ about Esperanto It's a planned language, also well-known (the most famous of planned languages and has native speakers) and is easier to learn than English and lots of other languages. This may give more inspirations to her Kajiurago at the very least. If u think I have a screw loose just ignore it xD I just learnt about this language in class this morning so I can't get the idea out of my head unless I write it down :XD:

do you mean a vinyl record? I know how to listen to them, but not how to record things onto them...
 
actually I think its impossible to write a vinyl record (since the pic ups that read them dont write them)

idea #3 of the one wormbook menthions is interesting too.

@translexia: We still dont know what still people are capable of (and there are still not many people participating in this duscusion, to have them answer this) but its a good idea to figure out what each can do before we start working on one of the ideas because I remember well that we had big problem in 2010 with the cover song since we coundltn find enough people to play the instruements XD

Okay, back to the topic.

There are so many great ideas, it's gonna be really hard to decide :uh..:
But I agree with those who say that we first have to know what the members are actually capable of!
Well... erm... I could sing something :XD: But I'm also capable of editing/making videos and I'd be able to mix a cover (more or less XD).
 
I do like the 3rd idea from wormbook as well. I think it should be a little easier this year (since the foodbook was a bit much, and almost did not make it in time) and that would be a good idea to piece together pics from different songs. Would it be a youtube video or a slideshow of some kind? Each person who is involved could pic a song, and try and find as many pictures as they can, if I am reading you right and that's the right idea.
 
^ alternatively we could draw sceneries or images discribed in her songs. Drawing humans is difficult but I think everyone can draw eg: some silver plates. :XD: Then we could combine these pictures in a book again or have them featured in a video with a cover song playing in the background, or have them in-between video where members wish "Happy Birthday". In second part of this vid we could put Kowz's suggestion too (landscapes from our countries to inspire he).

each of these ideas doesnt take much time so we could do them together.
 
^We could wish her Happy Birthday in our own languages, or say it once in Japanese and then our own, and have that playing while the pics are showing. I like the drawing idea, even though I am bad at it heh and then we should have the lyrics from the song on the pic as well.
 
I think these ideas all sound wonderful! I really like the idea of a cover song or pvs, even though a cover song has been done before.

I don't have a fantastic singing voice, but I am pretty sure I can sing in tune. I can play viola, but, again, I am not fantastic.

I would love to help with anything! =D

Just finished my Licensure examination today and I'll have so much free time from now on :ohoho:

Last year's gift was impressive. :sparkleguy: It was actually the deciding factor that made me join this forum. And now another gift is being conceptualize and I'm excited. I would love to get involved in this.

The idea of a PV sound interesting. Maybe it could work since we have lots of time to produce it.

How about we try something like:

But instead of pictures from the net, we could use pictures we took ourselves. Like someone said, it may give some inspiration to Yuki.

Sorry to come so late into the discussion.

I have just finished reading the topics and yours ideas sound great. However, I think the same as George about the lyrics translation idea.

This year is a very special one because it is also :
- The 20th anniversary of Kajiura's live
- The 10th edition of "Yuki Kajiura LIVE"
- The 5th anniversary of Kalafina

Maybe should we think about doing something about it. One idea would be to write a story telling the History of Kajiura-dono. But not a simple book. Something like an interactive book in which we would include the previously given ideas (pictures relative to the Kajiura's song, lyrics translation, PV,...).

I like the idea of making PV and multi-languages song cover.. :ayashii: . I've written Thai lyrics for many of Yuki's Japanese songs. And the translation don't need to be exactly the same as the original one. Just keep the main idea and paraphase them to make them fit with the melody... :ayashii: . (That is what many people do when writing different-languages-lyrics for the same song.)

Another idea if you want to do a unique cover with multi-language is....trying non-vocal or Kajiurago songs... :sparkleguy: . The original one doesn't have any exact meaning at the start. So we can discuss that what is the content we want to put in the song lyrics, and write the lyrics out in your own language...:). (Maybe about birthday wishes for her, how did you fall in love with her songs, the long history of her works as a composer, etc.)
 
^ Yes but the most difficult part is to match the new lyrics with the melody since some people dont have music education to explain to the others how the lyrics are supposed to be sung.

When we talk about landscape pictures, it would be nice if each of us put landscape pictures from our own country to present. :glasses:

For instrumental part, I could help with piano, but I still have a lot to learn.
And maybe a bit with guitar..

@George: I agree with you, but I think the most important thing here is the effort everyone is making so it doesnt have to be so much professional. I think we could fit it :sparkleguy:
 
I can help with multilanguage cover song also...I can write the song into mandarin and cantonese. :ohoho: And I have plenty landscape photo too. I cannot draw but I can write chinese calligraphy. I can play violin,grade one only. I can help with sing too,thats all... :leaf:

Yeah, that's right... but I think mistakes could be avoided when either the one who made the lyrics sings them himself (or sings a short sample), or the singer who is asked to sing them makes a short sample (without much effort) and the writer just says what should be different or so :sparkleguy:
Anyway, I think correct lyrics pronunciation isn't that important since Yuki-sama wouldn't be able to recognize mistakes in most of our languages... and neither do I :XD:

I like the PV with images/videos/pictures from fans all over the world idea, maybe we could combine that with FxMac's idea and make it a video kind of like a storybook telling Kajiura's history and then when we get up to present day have the images/videos/pictures from fans all over the world wishing her happy birthday and the best for the future or something like that? :ayashii:

I don't mind what is chosen, I'll help with anything to the best of my ability...however, singing is definitely out of my capability... :ohoho: :cry: *Cerise sounds like a ghost wailing when she sings in the shower, says her mum* :spotlight: :XD:
