And what do you think about Yuriko, Pika? You haven't mentioned her at all :ayashii:

i havent heard that much of her singing so at first i was going to refrain from commenting

but then i heard Materialise. Dammit she and wakana are good enough to be opera singers. Imagine if they had proper training. :nosebleed:

but still i cant tell the difference between the two in teh song, its too high pitched :XD:

anyone mind giving me a detailed description (times etc) of when who sings?
beginning & ending = YURIKO
main = WAKANA
you can easily separate them by their vibrato in MATERIALISE

Define Beginning and Ending... T_T

i cant really tell when they start and end, because it just sounds like it was the same person singing the entire time X_X

is there like a time where wakana comes in and out etc? also in the main chorus, does wakana or yuriko sing the top part. As much as i try, i can only hear 3 people singing, the high top part, a middle part (which i assume is kaori) and keiko in low part.

I thought most of Yuki's singers are well trained Vocalists :ayashii:

I.... honestly don't think so. Apart from Yuriko, Wakana and Hikaru, I suppose.

well they still beat most singers :ayashii:

From my not-so-sensitive ears, the high range part changes between Yuriko and Wakana from time to time, and there were parts (e.g. in chrous verse) where Yuriko joins Kaori in middle part.

What a complex song it is...that's what puts the girls to their limits, and times where you need opera singers like Yuri Kasahara to master it.

Yuriko sings the lead until 1:06, and then Wakana takes over, while Yuriko does back-up. Yuriko comes back in the end though.
Listen to the higher notes at 0:53 and then the ones at 1:25, and you'll hear the difference. Yuriko has a much more pronounced vibrato while... well, I'm sorry, but Wakana sounds kinda like a chicken to me in this song. :uh..:

to me the entire song sounds like a chicken XD

awesome chicken is awesome though

and i think wakana sounds more like a chicken partially because the notes she sings are lower pitch and more "chicken-like".

Chickens normally cant make sounds as high as Yuriko :XD:

okay after many days of listening to materialise over and over again until my neighbours probably hate me now i think i can discern Yuriko and Wakana's parts.

I actually think Wakana does as well, if not better than Yuriko on some of the parts, as imo Yuriko's super duper gigantic vibrato doesnt fit as well with the melody.

However its clear Yuriko does the Chicken parts better (the Yabeheee or hobehee or bok bok bweee, watever you want to call it) as the long notes give her plenty of space to vibrato to her heart's content. Plus when teh notes are that high, Yuriko is more in tune and more powerful. (I think Wakana's voice is better when its not the uber high parts) I mean, the REALLY high part that yuriko sings at the end of the song blows me away literally every time i listen to it
:hero: :fan: :fan: :fan:

If i was to remake Materialise i actually wouldnt do much changes, i think the arrangement is good enough as it is, just i would give ALL the chicken parts throughout the song to Yuriko but Wakana can keep her other parts.

I love those parts most of all in the song :dote:

I know its supposed to be Yabe hee or habe hee or sumthing but

No matter how i listen to it, it just sounds like BOK BOK BWEEEHHHH

which basically is the sound a chicken makes :uh..:

revived :stars:

Yuriko Kaida
i don't have to explain why and how great she is
Yuri Kasahara = Eri Ito
Wakana = Yuuka = Keiko = Kaori

I'm actually really fond of Wakana.. There's just something about her voice that just hits home to me... so much control and charisma...

It's impossible for me to compare them all together. :XD: So:

FJ/Kalafina vocalists:
Maya >>>>>> Kaori > Wakana >> Hikaru > Yuriko >>>> Keiko > Yuuka >> Asuka

English vocalists:
Margaret Dorn = Deb Lyons > Emily Bindiger > Johann Sara Jr. > Clara Kennedy >>> Emily Curtis

Older vocalists: Haven't listened to enough to rank them all definitively. I know I don't like Eri Itou's voice, and I like what I've heard of Hanae Tomaru's so far.
