It's probably recorded + live.
It's really easy to notice that not all the the singing is exactly like the recorded version.

Wakana actually forgot her part and was late to pick up the mic.

I'm not sure whether it is post-recording edit or lipsync, though... but it looks more like lipsync

I just watched it! I actually agree with some of you here, this one seems to have something lacking. It feels like Vol.2 has more "oomph". Or maybe I'm biased because that was the first time I ever saw them together live. But I still liked Vol.4!
Mizu no Akashi was simply beautiful. Synchronicity was also awesome. I laughed out loud when during the kajiurago part, Kaori was rocking out on top of that stage. And then Keiko seemed to be like "omg I wanna do that too!!" and went up there as well.
But at times, other songs felt a bit long and repetitive. I also agreed about the encore songs. They are beautiful but I got bored easily.

I didn't notice Wakana lip syncing?

During the chorus, Wakana wasn't adding much to the song, you can hear it! the chorus was already recorded, and with her voice all alone she can't do a whole chorus! And also you can see the distance she has with the microphone when she sings that part. So yea, of course she wasn't really taking a big part of the chorus...
but I mean that part is not THE important part of the concert she has to be singing! @__@

To me, she's like participating in the live even if she doesn't add much to the chorus. Sometimes Keiko does that too, even if it's not her turn to sing, she's singing but not with her microphone, she's still participating.grunty said:

Whoa man, that's two different things you're comparing.
In my opinion what you say Keiko is doing (getting into the song and singing along with someone else without a mic) is perfectly natural, getting into your faking is a completely different thing...
Mind you, we don't know if and what was lipsynced on the live or post-recorded for the DVD so it's not like I'm hating on Wakana or anything. I love Wakana.
These are just my thoughts on what I saw on this DVD. Seemed very fake, distracting and disappointing. Unlike VOL2 DVD, during which I don't recall ever doubting it was performed live.
