Is the Historia Opening Theme just a Kaijurago storia???
actually, it's the reverse
The original was ‘Rekishi Hiwa Historia’ (NHK)’s coined word OP theme, this was made after I had the idea that it would be interesting to try covering it in Japanese. It was curiously easy to put it into Japanese, and because it did not come out solely as a ‘Kalafina song’ I think we were able to show another side to Kalafina that had not been seen before. I think it was a solid cover.

Cadbury Mini Eggs are just so delicious. Whyyyyy? Also Girlscout's peanut butter patty cookies and the cinnamon bun oreos (if they get rid of those Oreos I may have to kill someone)

I have to be aware of whom I'm joking with. All my candy jokes go right passed Amercians. Poor Merikens.. don't have good candy. They'll never know the answer to the question: When you eat your SMARTIES, do you eat the red ones last. or They will never understand that when I like my coffee, I like my COFFEE CRISP.... Never mind asking them how do you get the caramel in to a Caramilk bar.... Oh well.. I guess I'll just have a crispy crunch and sulk.

I spent ages trying to get the new android phone's camera to take a decent screen shot of white text on a black background on my computer monitor - the trick seemed to be setting the ISO setting to 100 (perhaps related to the LED back-lighting and monitor refresh rate combining to confuse the camera's light metering).

I am procrastinating on this semester by looking to see what classes I want to take next semester. typical me.
but finallyyyyyy there's a class about WWI!
also I may end up taking geology for my minor, which will make my mom happy, lol.

There is nothing better than talking to WW2 vets. You should do so for your WW2 class. If there are any left in your area. I talked with quite a few. They gave me the down and dirty of the war no history books will ever tell. "It's not a war crime when you're the winner." One said to me.

I agree 100% with @ghostreaper, though I think aki's post refers to a World War I class, not II. But, now that it has been brought up, I'm gonna randomly mention a class I took.

My last semester I planned on taking a WWII class, but it was not offered. Instead was a Nazi Germany class. Loved the class. So in depth from the fall of Kaiser all the way through the end of WWII. I learned a lot that was previously glossed over in some other discussions on the time from the end of WWI through WWII especially. Now I want to gush about all the awesome history classes I took...

This has been a psa to take history classes in college. :XD:

Whoops, I originally came into this thread to post about cooking a meal that I made too spicy.

World Wars are very interesting. It makes one extremely fortunate that we live in a world were most of us are currently unaffected by war.

Last year we did critical reading on Night by Elie Wiesel. It's a famous text that documents the authour's experience in WWII from his town being turned into Ghettos to being liberated by American soldiers in Auschwitz.

I'm glad my teacher picked it for us. I feel like it's so important, to just even begin to understand what that was like. To have a greater appreciation and understand of our world now. To not take it for granted.

I remember my first history class. My teacher opened with a very important statement.

"Those who do not know the events of history are doomed to repeat them."

So true

The quote I remember is "those who do not learn the lessons from history are doomed to repeat them."
Considering how many people are blithely ignorant of any thing that happened farther back than last week, it's no wonder most people live on hampster wheel

I was once a history addict. I wanted to know every thing about every thing. Then I found the footnotes in books. Following the footnotes lead to very interesting "smaller" stories about history that give a whole new meaning to the events. Always follow the footnotes. And, if you can, talk with people who were actually involved on the ground.

I agree with pretty much everyone who's already posted. History is really interesting, especially the World Wars (really any war in general, though). It's also really interesting to even hear from people who were involved. Though I have not had the honor of talking with a WWII/Korea/Vietnam veteran (though there is a Vietnam vet at my church), it is still enough simply to hear their stories and see what version of hell they went through when they were deployed. I am taking an AP World History course next year, and from what I've heard from my brother, it's really interesting even though the workload is rather large. It apparently goes from "virtually cavemen" (where pretty much everything is theoretical and not pure fact) to modern day, all in depth. I'm really excited for that course.

Btw, more on the history, has anyone heard of a Youtube sub-channel called Extra History? It's made by the same people as Extra Credits (a channel talking about video games and how they're developed, in simplest terms), and has a lot of good information on it. Currently they're doing a series on The Battle of Kursk in WWII, but other series include The Punic Wars, Sengoku Jidai (warring states in Japan), and The Byzantine Empire, just to name a few. Here's the link to the playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhyKYa0YJ_5Aq7g4bil7bnGi0A8gTsawu

Ah history. It is always a favorite past time of mine to check random sources of information regarding certain events of the past, and you always find two different stories of the same event that are not reconcilable. I can't help but sigh with all of these biases of the past that lead out to the complications of today.

Anyways, on a different note, it looks like fripSide has switched labels from Universal to avex with their latest single. At least we finally have an iTunes entry for them, albeit with only their latest release which is white forces. In my opinion, the song is a softer version of KOTOKO's unfisnished, which was also composed by sat. At least a decent electronic trance song for me at least. Hopefully we get more of their older tracks in iTunes soon though (looking at you Geneon Universal).

I went to drink some water and my boyfriend said "can you also bring some more chocolate?". Intermezzo was playing at that point, and as soon as I came back, Hikaru's voice sang "chokoreeto mo oshimai" = "the chocolate is also over". Well duh, that's why I brought the new one! :XD:

Just saw this, but I haven't heard of it. I'll check out the playlist. Thanks!

I've been cooking a lot more recently. I tried some new recipes in addition to the ones I normal make. One was a kind of curry and the other a white chicken chili dish. Wasn't too bad, but both recipes need some adjustments for the kind of people I'm serving. Hopefully, the chimichanga recipe I found turns out good.
