I'm a bit late to this but @TheEconomist's use of Bowie song title headlines is a work of pure genius. #Bowie

Does anyone know if the Yuki Kajiura 2008 DVD is region-locked? I can't find a quality picture of the back anywhere...

Sorry if this is the wrong thread to post it, but I couldn't find another place to post it.

@aki interested in your thoughts on:
Exam Hell and the Crisis in History Education http://www.nippon.com/en/in-depth/a05103/
sounds a lot like public schools here (though maybe worse). interesting that it says it's because of the desire for "fairness" in grading; I always thought it was bc history teacher is usually spelled c-o-a-c-h.
eternally glad I went for the IB diploma. essay questions > multiple choice any day. also I wouldn't be near as prepared for college-level courses. tho, the 100-level classes are pretty much the same as those in hs... (maybe that's why I prefer 400-level)

Gaika is a pretty standout one along with:
Fantasia - from the AE and RM lives
Kyrie - From the AE live
Falling Snow - From the AE live
Lacrimosa - from Buokan
I Have A Dream - from Budokan

For songs where she isn't the main part
Progressive - from the RM live
Hanamori no Oka - From YK volume 4
In The Land of Twilight Under The Moon - From YK volume 2

She isn't expressive much so it's kind of hard but I hope I helped

These posts made me realize I wanna see Wakana rock out more. :XD:

Off the top of my head: Parallel Hearts from the same live is another song Wakana really gets into imo (I think she was pretty awesome to watch in YK Live vol 4 as a whole). Also, Lacrimosa from the Red Moon DVD.

Thanks guys!
I love how Wakana stands out from the others in Vol 4. Like they all wear blue color except Wakana.

Edit: I watched the songs except the Budokan ones. I feel only the fire in Parallel Hearts. Fantasia only a little bit.

Did some shameless promoting of Yuki Kajiura this week :ayashii::punched:

One of my friends is interested in watching Pandora Hearts, so I told her that the music is awesome and that if she likes it, there's plenty more where it comes from :XD:

Just saw your edit. I guess Lacrimosa from the Red Moon DVD wasn't what you were looking for, but glad that Parallel Hearts performance was! Do check out the whole concert. I'll keep looking because this is fun and I love seeing Wakana on fire.
:XD:

I overlooked that you posted Lacrimosa! I watched it and yes she is strong there but does not come close to the Mezame perfomance imo. But I like the song didnt heard it before.

For me finding Kalafina and FJ was like a perfect storm. I was watching the anime K-On. (Girls with guitars, grrrrrls !!) (Check out Scandal's version of the first ending song.. GRRRRRRLLLS !! Rock) That show ended and the production company made a new series: Sora No Woto. And there was Hikari no senritsu as the opening song. That flute intro blew me away. A new fan is born. Had it not been for perfect storn of K-On, I wouldn't have discovered Kalafina and (re)discovered Yuki Kajuira and all the other artists I now enjoy.

So, PREFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED,
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY TO COME :sohappy:

Apparently this year there will be multiple audition pieces (ensemble, as always. Duet and solo) I asked the PAF house captain how the audition sheets would work but they must've misunderstood me because they didn't answer my question.:TdT:
Some houses have started Auditions, Mc Grath's is apparently happening this week:omg::omgz:
However my house, Mulhall only just told us about it.:touched:
Hopefully they'll be an email with the details soon because I'm NOT doing a solo, I don't wanna mark my sheet wrong.

However due to the fact there's more audition pieces I have a higher chance of getting in:love:
I remember them saying auditions would be held around week 6/7 since it's week 3 now I have 3 weeks to practise.
Thank You @Westkana with the song you transcribed for me I hope to win my audition.
So practise for me starts now. I'm very excited. I've auditioned two years in a row and my auditions seem to get better in quality every year. I know I can do it this year. I WILL GET THROUGH, I WILL GET A PART

part of me is tempted to cancel this meeting with my prof even though I don't feel that bad - yet
