They had early screenings of the entire movie? 1.5month early? Dang. I mean, I guess they (or was it even Kajiura?) did say that the movie was already done and they were waiting for the COVID situation to settle down with releasing it but still.

What I need to know is if they rerecorded swordland with real brass. Even though I dislike the original, I'd be interested in hearing if it makes a difference to me. :p (And don't link me the Overture live.)

Oh god I'm gonna rant so hard on this movie

-obnoxious and exaggerated sound effects i really hate this guy istg....
-late reaction but why tf they are using swordland on this movie when it should be Asuna's POV?
-i'm gonna say this but this arranger guy in theme songs keeps sabotaging some of the songs that can potentially good imo(sore wa chiisana metallic sfx on the chorus pisses me off and now I kind of hear his signature earr*pe on saop song-not like they got memorable songs for me on this franchise lol) :notlistening:
- the new character is definitely a fodder on this movie so most likely we will get dramatic ost cues that i might not enjoy cause sao tragedy bad execution and repetitive

The only good thing is early OST release, yay
 
Well, tracklist (with duration) was added on vgmdb, and... I guess there is nothing surprising here. Some rearrangements of famous themes and a majority of (very) short tracks (and a lot of SFX too probably).

Im waiting for the time when the series has progressed so much that one of the rearrangement will have a #10 numbering next to it

i wonder if those ~ progressive mix tracks are lazy ones like just adding some extra beat or SFX to them, or something more sophisticated and enjoyable.
 
At least there are 3 tracks above 4 min, and they may be the ones we heard in the trailers so I'll take it anyway.
And I was also expecting a 50 min long soundtrack so it almost made my day.
So what do you think are the tracks from PV1 , PV 30 sec and PV 15 sec ?

TBH if these "progressive mix"es have real brass, they're a welcome addition. But being called a new "mix" doesn't really give much hope for that...
We can hear her working on "death game" and "the first town" in the 7 Rules program but who knows if that was progressive mix or the original... "the first town" didn't really sound any different.

So I'm perplexed that I still can't find a single shop listing with the tracklisting of Progressive OST updated.

Does anyone know where VGMDB got it from and feel like sharing? :)

progressive mixes are a disappointment. nothing new. brass still synth.
other than that, some decent arranges/usage of old themes. seems like another decent SAO disc, not Alicization tho.
looking forward to the whole thing.
