Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Just watched ep.8. I'm shocked!! :omg:

Hitomi is a little bitch. Sayaka became a witch, for being stupid. Homura is from a different timeline where Cubey (a.k.a Incubator) made a contract with Madoka and something horrible happened. Madoka can become a god. All PGs eventually turn into witches :omg:

How am I gonna survive a whole week waiting for ep.9???

BTW... great music! can people stop complaining about not being 1000 tracks for the series?? I noticed it gets repetitive, but the few tracks there are, are being used very skillfully. Besides, the best (and new) pieces are probably reserved for the coming final eps.

My impressions for the coming eps is still very pessimistic... :uh..:

WHAT will Madoka do?
WHAT happened in Homura's past?
WHAT will happen to Sayaka?
WHAT is Cubey's true nature? (Since we now know that Cubey is short for something else we should write it with a C)

So it seems likethe pre-opening form episode ones is alctually fro m episode 1. So Kyuubey's job is to turn human into puella magi and then to witches, and he probably wants to do the same to Madoka to change the world the way he wants/ destroy it because she cvan change the laws of nature. [cliche plot] I'm so sorry for Sayaka  Sayaka's gem turned dark so fast, in just 3 battles (including the ones with the new girl)

I guess it turned dark so fast because she didn't really have the will to live her life (or whatever it is) anymore. She just fell into despair and gave up her life, making the process much quicker. Remember what grief seed was created from.

Also cuz according to the Incubator, she has no talent as a PM. :touched:

I wonder who is Homura actually :plot:

Kyuubey Said she isn't belong on the present time :plot:

I wonder who really is she :plot:

I guess I'll just stop speculating things and enjoy the final 4 episode from now on :XD:

@tsubasa:

Guess that she's from the future where Kyuubey already managed to do what he desires and she traveled in the past to undo what happened in the future.

[ eg: If you go in the past and kill Einstain before he invents the atomic energy, amarican would never throw the bombs in Japan, Hitler would win and the world would be much different]

Ok, while pulling from trolltube 25 minutes of
Sayaka's semi-funeral (     )
and desperately looking for a subtitle file to use (anime77, as usual, offers a whopping 200 Mb for the almost-Youtube quality... :ghost: )... I don't know whether to mourn or to laugh at lots of complaints about the script fulfilling one of the WMGs for once. :ohoho: :ohoho: :ohoho: cliche plot? yeah, right. :groucho: It just looks like it's THE evangelion of mahou shoujo genre, after all. :omg: :ohoho: And boy, does this episode spring a ton of questions. :plot: But I'll have to watch the episode to word them appropriately.

And no more Morning Lescue! Why?! That CM is the best part!!

it hasn't been around since episode 7, maybe the contract is over.

Btw, if the music will be released in order as they were played, soundtrack vol. 2 will be so boring, lol.

relax, it's one more third of the show to come. :tea:
The amount of tracks already approaches that of Aquarian Age OST (also a one-cour show). Of course, in the context of TWO volumes it's odd - we might either get a usual one-cour OST split in several EPs, get some bonus content (which I have to see to believe) or get the full set of BGMs as was the case with KnK. But it's not like we're at a loss in any case.
Of course, for those who disagree, there's Nick Hunter's Imagination Theatre:
enter Yuki Kajiura and Akiyuki Shinbo
Y.K. Shinbo-san, here's the freshest recording, vocal and instrumental versions. I think it might be fitting, ne? :waii:
A.S. Well, what can I say... This song alone could easily make half the soundtrack! :V:
Y.K. Why, thank you very much... :shy:
A.S. Not at all. I really mean it. :sparkleguy:
curtains :XD: :XD: :XD: :XD:

But despite my screwed imagination, I still trust the staff. If Akiyuki Shinbo were the man to go by one or two tracks per episode... good luck imagining what Petite Cossette OST would have looked like. :ohoho:

3. This show ended on ep4 for Yuki, lol.

She knew the script long before us. :XD: And it's the script Akiyuki Shinbo accepted without any changes (see what he does with most manga series Shaft adapts, and you'll feel the prominence) and the script Yuki herself missed her station reading. TBH, I almost feel like I could do the same. This show's definitely landing in my toplist. regardless of how many characters will survive it...

Hitler would win

Unlikely. :tea:
lol, it's the second... no, third time I hear about Hitler in a PMMM-related thread. :XD: :XD: :XD:

Wow, I never thought that the "best friend" would be the character made into a tragedy. Felt bad for Sayaka even though it's her own fault for not acting on her feelings. I don't think she deserved all of that pain.

Oh, another thing.

'kay, a no-subtitle watch so far. Whereafter I had to go to TVtropes for a bunch of translated spoilers. :ohoho:
Sayaka is painful to watch :orz:
her behaviour is one long suicide... she doesn't care about the end that may befall her (although Kyuubey, as always, failed to inform her about prospects worse than death).
It's even worse if you think about the consequences in the real world. Mami was alone; Sayaka's absense will leave her parents worried SICK. Possibly the double amount for Hitomi, if she connects Sayaka's disappearance with their conversation... :uh..: Madoka... anyone volunteers to bring her the news? definitely not me. The poor girl is getting through enough mess even without acccepting the call. As one speculation put it, "the biggest deconstruction of the genre would be in the guise of the titular heroine NOT becoming a magical girl at all".
By the way, Kyuubey.
He effectively remains the main candidate for barbecue, but barbecue is not likely to work (unless you want to barbecue him repeatedly for each of the past episodes :ohoho: ). He also gets more face animation than in all 7 episodes combined. :XD:
As I have yet to read the whole dialogues, his modus operandi remains unclear. A demon filling the world with witches? Doubtful so far, due to the ratio. Sayaka alone finished off three or four witches - and then there are Puellae Magi who can avoid becoming witches - we've seen Kyouko who's a pro at getting grief seeds and learns to swallow her despair, and Mami who... uh, you get the point. :uh..: Of course, witches spawn familiars, but those are much easier to squish. So, it looks like a vicious circle. Heh, for all we know, Kyuubey may believe he's upholding the natural order of things. :psst:
The mechanics of the universe
bring about an expected lot of questions. I intended to wonder if Puellae Magi are the only sourse of new witches, but Kyuubey's last statement seems to make it true enough. Then, what exactly will happen to Sayaka? More correctly, what will REMAIN of her? Is the personality called Sayaka Miki gone forever, or is she silently suffering, or is she lunged into some kind of sweet oblivion? The latter might evoke fridge horror - imagine her last dream where she reunites with Kamijou and enjoys brief happiness... before she's attacked and killed by some nightmarish creature she won't even recognise as Kyouko/Homura/Madoka. Or WILL recognise, for more tragism - yes, I'm seriously wondering about how witches percieve the world.
Now, a $1000000 question: can you WISH for a Puella Magi's soul to be restored? Again, I was wondering how screwed this wish may get concerning thier bodies, but on second thought, those are expendable magical armours - and we do see Sayaka's body simply going limp instead of exploding or mutating horribly. Also, we know from episode 6 that defeated witches practically remain confined in a pokeball Grief Seed. Of course, it seems they are only revived byabsorbing darkness, and Kyuubey keeps them to himself to boot (as if he didn't look devilish enough without that). But still?
This is a crucial matter, since if such a wish is possible, I'm afraid all Homura's attempts will sink faster than the Titanic. Nobody in their common sense would deal with Kyuubey after these events, but it's exactly after these events that I won't give a dime for Madoka's common sense. And now let's take a look at Homura's intentions. If Madoka becomes a Puella Magi, her current personality is the shortcut to witchifying (and Homura summarised it as early as episode 5). And if a witch's power corresponds to her power as a Puella Magi or even, God forbid, exceeds it... Remember all we've heard about Madoka's potential, AND PACK YOUR THINGS, WE'RE MIGRATING TO ANOTHER PLANET ASAP. :vortex:
It's still four episodes to go, and the world is already screwed. Sayaka witchified, Madoka traumatized enough to make Gendou Ikari take notes, Homura switching to heavy weaponry and breaking into tears (and that's the worst omen in the whole episode :omg: )... The only stable thing is Kyouko still chewing on... but I fear my second fave PM might easily meet her end in the upcoming Walpurgisnacht, if not earlier.

the only straw to grip is Eri Kitamura's words -
she did say that there will be a glimpse of hope for Sayaka. That might mean anything, from a restoration wish gone right to Madoka or Homura forcibly reversing things. Although time loops have never been quite a way out. :uh..:

Can't say much about music yet, since I spent the episode harking to the characters and trying to fish out familiar words (it mostly summed up to "watashi", "anata" and "mahou shoujo" :desksweat: ). But Sayaka's theme sounds downright tragic now...
like a soft, gentle requiem :comeback:

In short, yet another nail in the genre's coffin.

Re:

Loved the scene when Homura broke in front of Madoka, where's that emotionless girl I met in episode 1? :ohoho:
But I'm still in love with Kyouko for some strange reason. :nosebleed: She's so cute and wild! And looks like we're about to see the real form of Kyubey. :dote:

LOL! :XD:
Who wants some? There must be plenty more of them! :ayashii:

I think this is going to get some kind of a Star Wars ending.

Darth Sidious = Incubator/Kyuubey
Darth Vader = Sayaka

(Together, they would see the fruition of Walpurgisnacht.)

Obi-wan = Mami

(Obi-wan used the Force to communicate with Luke...Will Mami do the same to Madoka in the later episodes?)

Yoda = Homura
Luke = Madoka (similarly, Luke only became a Jedi in the final chapter/arc of SW)
Hans Solo = Kyoko

(Madoka is the one who brings the balance in the PM universe, however reluctant she may be. Time-travelling Homura thinks she has seen everything before, but is, however, still learning and therefore failed to understand fully the essence of Walpurgisnacht. Kyoko is just simply rogue PM turned good. The events of Walpurgisnacht was seen early on in Episode 1 of the series.)

:plot:

SW... As if Faust wasn't enough... :XD: Homura=Yoda sounds creepy, but I like the parallel between Kyouko and Hans Solo. :XD:
(Then, seeing as Lea and Hans ended up together, for Kyouko there's Madoka's brother Tetsuya... wait, WHAT? :white:

I vote this for epic win! :XD:

Can't seem to find any parallel with Leia in PMMM, though. :ayashii:

^it's only the relationships. Although if we stick to them...
wouldn't your parallelism make Sayaka Madoka's mother? :ohoho:

Meanwhile, episode 8 has brought Kyuubey ultimate popularity:
:nophoto:

If you read the news about someone trying to nail his/her desktop with a shotgun... You'll have your guesses... :psst:

EDIT: Some posts back, mentioning Gendou Ikari... I swear, I HADN'T YET SEEN these pics by then... :omg: :XD:
Actually, as this whole mini-gallery testifies, the views on Kyuubey's gender have changed. Evil females are coolah than evil males? :ayashii: :psst:

Heh...Fair dues. I was thinking only along the lines of the characters roles, though. Rather than the relationships each one has with another.

Kyuubey doesn't deserve that, a shotgun or Homura's pistol.

He deserves to be shot with a GAU-8 Avenger cannon.

I'd rather have him treated to Nanoha's therapy... Since he
can't be killed anyway
, maybe it's possible to befriend him into deep coma at least. :knife:
I've been looking through Sayaka's initial promo pics
and found myself getting teary-eyed... darn, this is almost worse than with Mami

^ It's still good stress relief to unleash 30mm armour-killing rounds at 4200rpm, though. Especially not forgetting when your target looks like this:
