With the name "Incubator"... I'm thinking Kyubey's real form is like the one from the ending scene... Like that huge shadowy face, having madoka "incubated" in his eye...?
EDIT:
And about Sayaka and Homura... I have this hypothesis...
In Homura's timeline, Sayaka was probably not even a friend of Madoka... Sayaka may not even be involved... One proof that I thought of is that Homura didn't know that Sayaka was gonna become a puella Magi, thus she failed to prevent it.
Back in Homura's timeline, Homura is probably the one in Sayaka's place, Madoka's best friend.. Homura probably became a mahou shojo and got her soul corrupted as well, then Madoka also became a mahou shojo and asked kyubey to make Homura's body back to the way it was (same way she wanted for Sayaka in the current timeline). Then as time progresses, Madoka herself becomes a witch, and Homura learned about the tragic end of all puella magi. So she travelled back in time to prevent Madoka from becoming a mahou shojo.
[rough translation]( ◕ ‿‿ ◕ )←Kyubey kun a friend of mine showed it to me yesterday~. The person who made it is great, they do look alike, right?![/rough translation]
Kyuubey approaching Yuki?!!!!!
@Yuki.n.: your speculation sounds interesting.
Me? Oh, I've read the subs today. Now my mood's as dim as a grief seed... :uh:
According to Homura's words, there's no conventional way back once the Soul Gem is shattered (at best, she may simply not know of one, but how much would you bet o it?). That leaves us with a wish as the only possibility. Or Madoka's acquired power as a Puella Magi, which Kyuubey claims to surpass his own. And that's where the danger lies. Madoka may well go overboard neither through a curse nor through despair, but through "I want Sayaka-chan back!" possibly followed by "I want Mami-san back!" - goddess-level powerup or not, it may just exceed the capacity of her Soul Gem. Which may even end up like Madoka's dream.
No wonder Homura breaks down. Concerning her attitude to Sayaka, she doesn't seem to care for her personally (she may be sympathising with her deep inside, but her goals and intentions are obviously Madoka-centric), but her regret for not having prevented Sayaka's recruitment may be genuine. Same as her trying to covince Madoka to give up on her friend. Sayaka is THE potential catalyst for Madoka just like Kamijou was for Sayaka herself. Heck, she nearly BECOMES such a catalyst during their last conversation (and regrets it later... Oh, the irony of parallelism)! And when confronting Sayaka, Homura loses her temper due to frustration - but it's unlikely she would really kill Sayaka - at least because it would have pretty much the same effect on Madoka. So now Homura's in a pinch. If Madoka does wish for power capable of bringing Sayaka back, there's no stopping her.
One might say, of course, that Homerun-chan's partly brought it on herself. In terms of keeping info to herself she almost matches Kyuubey - and since ep 6 phrases like "no one would believe me" are as plausible as "you didn't ask". If she was that desperate about Sayaka, maybe she should have told Sayaka outright about the latter's nearest prospects. Whether she would be believed is another matter, but since she chose not to even try...
If we add Yuki.n.'s speculation in, it looks even more hopeless for her. Madoka's fate is going unchanged since she got another friend and another catalyst in this timeline - meaning Sayaka's path might resemble Homura's even more than Kyouko's.
Well, we'll get another episode soon. I will at least hope for Kyouko's survival, against all odds.
Yet another double post. but there's a full-grown epileptic tree of a theory sprouting in my mind. It has a 99% of proving wrong (or I don't know Urobuchi), so I don't feel like telling it... But in case someone might have similar WMG mode, here's the thought that led me to that theory...
Every Puella Magi obtains a gift connected with the wish she made. While it's not clear in Mami and Kyouko's cases, we know that Sayaka got fast recovery and Homura [presumably] got the ability to stop time. Well, I couldn't help linking it with my recent blabbering here and think...
If Madoka's wish is to restore Sayaka's soul, what gift may she get?
And here's something mentioned throughout forums, the show's wiki and tvtropes long ago: "puella" may mean some kind of divination technique...
^ It's time to lay back on your couch and just "enjoy" watching it. I bet the 4 final episodes will now focused on Homura and Madoka's relationship as well as Kyuubey and Walpurgis Nacht.
Surprisingly...there are nothing worse for me..when comparing with the end of Epi. 7...(I think that can tell me much enough that what will happen..TT.) It seems that my most moving scene in this episode is different from many one here..
who are really moved with Homura's tear. The ending scene when Sayaka turned to a witch is so moving for me...

thank you subbers~
I REALLY wanna know what Hitomi and Kamijo were talking about! The whole muting-during-conversation thing was bugging me a lot.
Me too.., in fact, after everything turned to be like this...
The theory of Hitomi trying to force Sayaka to tell her feeling to Kamijou came up to my mind again..lol. If that muted dialogue is Hitomi telling him about how her friend loves him and he accepted it..planning to talk with Sayaka when they meet again, but Sayaka didn't know and transformed to a witch...it's tragic enough for this series.... . But after I thought about it thoroughly...well...the possibility of that event seems so low...

As I have yet to read the whole dialogues, his modus operandi remains unclear. A demon filling the world with witches? Doubtful so far, due to the ratio. Sayaka alone finished off three or four witches - and then there are Puellae Magi who can avoid becoming witches - we've seen Kyouko who's a pro at getting grief seeds and learns to swallow her despair, and Mami who... uh, you get the point. Of course, witches spawn familiars, but those are much easier to squish. So, it looks like a vicious circle. Heh, for all we know, Kyuubey may believe he's upholding the natural order of things.
bring about an expected lot of questions. I intended to wonder if Puellae Magi are the only sourse of new witches, but Kyuubey's last statement seems to make it true enough.
Nick's comment is so long..lol. I have a guess for your question..
As for your ratio concerning...I believe that PM is not the only one source of a witch. The witch who killed Mami and the one who haven't been a witch yet that was saved by Kyouko didn't seem like they're formed by a PM. It's surely that if you are PM, you'll end up as a witch, but the converse may not hold. BTW, I guess that the witch transformed by a PM may be stronger or having some special ability that be able to arouse births of other witches.. spreading the dispair and activating the growth of proto-grief seed..sth. like that..lol.
In fact, I have my own theory about Homura&Madoka relationship...lol.
Homura met grown-up Madoka in the future (present time for Homura, but it's a future for all others) and she have some impression with her. (I think of the long-pink-haired Madoka in the OP when Madoka turned into a PM..lol.) I think Madoka may even save Homura's or some other lives by sacrifying herself..coz Homura said that Madoka are always sacrifying herself, but I think she hasn't really done such thing in the previous 7 Epi. (well.., she just think about it, but hasn't done)..., so I think she may have done it in Homura's timeline.
I have a question..? Do you know whose voice we heard in the preview for the next episode..? I'm not sure..
and if it's Kyouko's...I'm afraid that...she may die for the attempt to save Sayaka...
It just occurred to me... Maybe the profetic dream from ep.1 is no prophecy at all. It's Homura's timeline, and Madoka visited it in her sleep. So, desperate to change things, Homura sees the time-displaced Madoka and has the idea to make the jump to her timeline.
I don't know if someone mentioned this thoery before, it's just too much posting.
Tired of invisible texts... if you haven't watched the latest episode stay out of this thread.

Better be prepared; this show has been offering wham episodes with the frequency, rarely heard of in a one-cour series. And the last third is usually the most intense...
if you haven't watched the latest episode stay out of this thread.
the problem is, it's a general PMMM thread here, throwing in discussions, spoilers, music appreciation, interviews and goodies. We'd need at least a separate spoiler-warning topic in Otakuland to discuss the show itself, but I'm not sure if it's worth making.
@Kagaribi: you have a point, so far I also suspect humans can turn into witches. The idea of "enhanced" witches is interesring, too. But still,
not all Puellae Magi may become witches... even if the alternative is dire. Nonetheless, Mami must have dealt away with quite a number of witches... and didn't turn into one in the end. A sensible blow at the ratio, one might say.
As to the voice in the preview... I wonder myself. I'd bet the first lines are by Kyouko, but the one defining next episode's title (and the one to be pronounced by the same character there) is almost screwing my mind,
sounding rather like Sayaka but it's probably Kyouko... I'm also worried about her. It's even questionable if she would be really able to fight Sayaka in case of confrontation...
And as to the scene that touched you most, you're not alone.
While I like Homura, she practically BEHAVES like pure background, so until she finally spills the beans (I expect it in the form of a whole episode ), revealing her backstory, motives and intentions... she remains as vague as Kyuubey. Albeit not as sinister-looking.
The Homura/Madoka line development is pretty expectable, although it basically leaves even fewer chances for Kyouko. So basically, the major points I'm concerned about while waiting for Friday are:
- will Kyouko survive at least this episode?
- what will become of Sayaka?
Regarding the latter, I can't but feel Madoka having evolved into a big pink McGuffin by this moment.
With the name "Incubator"... I'm thinking Kyubey's real form is like the one from the ending scene...
