Unrelated question: does Yuki hold the rights for her soundtracks?

I can't say for sure. In most cases the author owns little to no parts of their work and the Label owns most. Yuki of course could be an exception.

I am sure that "houseki" is released under SMEJ,
as for voyagers... it surfaced first in the FJ live CD then later the original on WFS under SMEJ...

I don't dislike Yuriko's voice, but if Kajiura's intention is Kalafina = Wakana Keiko Hikaru then she should stop using Yuriko. It's not like she doesn't Yuriko in her other works anyway. I prefer she brings Maya back. :blood:
i get your point.since kalafina is just hikaru-keiko-wakana.but just as kagaribi said, sometimes or most of the time the song needs a voice with higher register,in w/c neither wakana nor hikaru can do.maybe yuki is inserting yuriko's voice to fill in the missing part in the voice harmony.since she is the one arranging it. .they can still use yuriko's voice via manipulator's help during live performances.or live performances should be different from studio versions.adding yuriko might be soooo FictionJunction wouldn't it?maybe :ohoho:

Huh, it's a bit odd. I assumed that the music playing in ep 3 was from the CD Sayaka had bought (and also the one she had heard him play as a child). But the CD i Claude Debussy, and Puella Wiki claims the ep 3 violin song to belong to Rachmaninov. :confu:
is that soo?i don't know,it was just my hypothesis since i saw debussy and he's his favorite.but kamijou didn't had a super duper vilon performance at all :XD:

I have to admit, I actually like Sis Puella Magica! a lot. :dote: Probably because Eri Ito's voice is layered, and blends in with the background...I usually like her and Emily Bindiger's voices more when they're not featured too prominently in a song.

But Puella in Somnio is still my favorite. I think it's probably my favorite instrumental OST track right now :shy:

By the way...are you sure that Koichi-san isn't credited for Credens Justitiam? I'm 99.9% sure that I hear him on the right channel throughout the entire song... :confu:

And I noticed that there's no information for Scaena Felix. It sounds like a real piano and acoustic guitar to me, so shouldn't the pianist and acoustic guitarist be credited?? :confu:

Not only that but there's no flute credit for Salve, tarrae magicae and Credens justiam too. I can bet that either Yuki made them in the computer or they forgot to put credits, justl like they did with Pugna cum maga's Fion :uh..: I am thinking of sending an email to Yuki to ask about these.

[EDIT] The coverart for the 4th DVD/BD is out :sohappy: Though no information for OST yet >_<

It's usually a while until they reveal tge Special CD content. :tea:
But as to credits, were there ones for each song? I only spotted generak credits, and those featured aciustic guitar, flute and all that.

They were specific. If you refer to our discography, at first I had forgot to put numbers but now they are featured according to the booklet.

Oh, I see.
Speaking of the cover... finally something close to the mood. :plot: Now, Sony, you ARE bundling OST 2 with that, I know it. :knife: :knife: :knife:

I love Vol 4 jacket It has references on both the chapel and Elsa Maria scenes

I wonder if they are going to update the Elsa maria scene :nosebleed:

AHHH....coming thick and fast!!

At the rate things are going, I would need to make a Faustian deal myself to get moar cash. :plot:

i also keep on repeating sis puella magica. .it's likfe floating in the air,i have that impression on the song :nosebleed:
anyway.i love the cover of the 4th dvd!

I just received my copy today, finally. I was waiting to listen until it came. hehe But here is my review:

1.Sis puella magica!: I really liked the song, and I knew I would even though it was played a lot in the show. I think it's the main theme and it's very soothing.

2.Salve, terrae magicae: One of my favorites. I love celtic music to begin with, so I was in love with it when I first heard it. It reminds me a bit of Magic and Sword from .Hack and a couple others of that series.

3.Gradus prohibitus: Was kind of boring at first, but then it grew on me. It slowly got quicker, and I liked that.

4.Credens justitiam: Ah, another favorite. It went great with Mami's transformation scene.

5.Clementia: So peaceful. heh

6.Desiderium: Another peaceful song. And yeah, it did remind me of the rain goes up from KnK. :dote:

7.Conturbatio: This song gave me chills everytime I heard it in the show, even though it was the theme again, but more creepy.

8.Postmeridie: A happy-go-lucky song, makes me think of spring.

9.Puella in somnio: Another one that gave me chills. I'll always think of Kyuubey while listening to this one.

10.Umbra nigra: Another slow song, but it reminded me of: In the Dark from Pandora Hearts.

11.Terror adhaerens: I loved this one, a little of Tsubasa and Historia I think.

12.Scaena felix: So peaceful again. I love the combination of guitar and piano.

13.Pugna cum maga: Listening to it now, wow. It reminds me a little of Kara no Kyoukai at parts, definately another great song. I think it's one of the best ones on here.

There is my small review. I can't wait until vol 2 comes. :sohappy:

I just got to look at the booklet scans now, and I noticed that the credits seem to be full of mistakes. I clearly hear Koichi-san on Credens Justitiam, and yet he's only credited for Pugna cum Maga...

I think you should definitely send an email, or ask her on Twitter. It's not fair to the musicians, or to Fion :uh..:

You're right! I knew that song reminded me of something, but I wasn't sure what :plot:
