New FictionJunction album "elemental" and YK Live vol. #11

I've watched it and I'm very satisfied. It's much better than I was expecting and now I'm really gonna buy it!
Absolute Configuration and Rising Up are so good, I'm impressed by those two tracks. I like the atmosphere and energy through all the live performance, I don't think they are so tired or anything like that.

The only thing I miss is the luminous sword + toki no mukou combo, because it was really fantastic in the Osaka live.

Yes, I was also going to say something about luminous sword, that George forgot about it. Gaaah I want mine to come tomorrow!!! heh I hope soon. I want to hear Gaika so bad. And storm sounds interesting too. (Kuga: did you do air mail? I think mine I can't track it with that, but what did you do for shipping?)

Edit: Oh, so it's not there Yukito?

Well, shit.

I got that error message too :faint: You guys are making me so want to watch it right away hahaha :ohoho: I guess the Digest vid didn't do the whole LIVE justice huh, from the good reviews from those of you who have already watched it :goodjob:

I shall persevere (distract myself with other things) and wait for my copy to arrive before watching :rain:

Edit: Oh, so it's not there Yukito?

Luminous Sword? Yes, it is, but not together with Toki no Mukou like in the Osaka live.

Guys, there's a part in stone cold where Keiko and Kaori are so next to each other... Kaori is so so so so tall hahahahahahha

sorry for being a party pooper:

no way near the charm of Vol9.

I elect Rie Akagi as the star, Konno as the cheater (or rather the strings playback), Yuriko as the unfortunate (otherwise still my fav in general). Would want to see more of Keiko too.

my favourite parts were Rie playing in Storm and M23 but with mixed feelings since strings had a playback. What's the use for Konno then?

I guess Kimi ga Ita Monogatari and Gaika are good too. Otherwise, tbh I was disappointed with both luminous sword and absolute configuration. People here really liked it but comparing to the live, I prefer the originals with Remi and Hanae, respectively.

Edit: Wait till it loads on Bilibili completely then download it. It seems it works better that way.

Edit: Goodness. Wakana at the of Liminality here and Wakana in 2008 live. ...

This part? :plot:

It was the same for vol.#9 as well :XD:

I wonder how these sort of Twitter events work for watching vids. If it's listening to music one can type while listening, but if it's watching vids surely you won't be able to focus much when you're busy Tweeting? :confu:

Yes yes. I intended to wait until next Monday so I can watch my own BD but I gave in and watched it. I don't care for the new album songs but storytelling is surprisingly the most enjoyable of all. I still /meh about that song, though. storm is okay, love the flute. Sato shouldn't play the drum at all in Hitorigoto. The single songs are weaker than they were in live vol.9. Hanamori is good, save for the drumming (again). Thank god for the live flute. Like what I've said before, with so many songs with her as lead vocal, Kaori's vocal gets choppier and choppier as the concert goes to the point where she's not actually singing but spewing those notes because her legato is nonexistent in sweet song, imo. Sato is really scary in the end of sweet song, it's like he's saying "WITH THIS IT'S OVER!!!!". I think he's too old to play the drum for a whole concert because it feels like he's forcing his body to do so. Gaika is okay sounds weird, especially those constant drumming with constant melody lines plus Wakana gradually losing power as the song goes (can't blame her, Gaika is a really demanding song) it becomes boring and tiring. Nohara is love save for the obvious mistakes Sato made. Agree with grunty regarding Kimi ga Ita. Wakana's voice just simply can't replace Chiaki, especially Chiaki sounds full of energy and enjoyable. This, not so much. The audio mixing is half-assed, imo but at least it gives more 'raw' feeling.

Dat Keiko and Yuriko engrish in Hitorigoto is probably my favorite part from the whole concert. Followed by M23, and then Nohara. sweet song is the most horrible performed song, what a way to end a concert lol.

I think my main problem with this BD is that I don't really like the new album song and most of the songs are repeat from their old DVDs and the previous DVDs are really good (or maybe polished, in live 2 and 4 case) I set my hope too high. Plus Wakana's voice isn't as lovely as it used to be and Kaori sounds sooo untrained without studio-polish. Add Yuriko sleeping/bored for most time of the concert, it leaves only Keiko to be the performer I can really enjoy the voice. Or maybe I'm just too biased, lol.

Favs :
The engrish and Keiko's solo in Hitorigoto save for the drumming
KnK Mirai Fukuin M23
Nohara save for the drumming
rising up
to lesser extent, Kimi ga Ita Monogatari.

All in all: the concert is boring. none of the utahimes look like they're really enjoying what they're doing. Kaori looks and sounds so unimpressed even though she's the main vocal for most songs. it really pales compare to how Keiko shines in live vol.9. Yuriko is sleeping, just like grunty said. Keiko and Wakana tried to enjoy what they're doing but it's not enough. Most songs sound emotionless, only Keiko puts emotion in Nohara but then again the drumming ruins it all. the drumming for most part sounds like sh*t.

@a-chan actually it's another angle, you can see Keiko front and Kaori's back. It's funny.

I wish I could listen to the original singers live version of the songs. I really wanted to listen to the Remi x Kaori version of luminous sword. Hanae isn't exactly my favorite performer, I prefer all FJ version of her songs, so I loved absolute configuration anyway.

@ritardando: With this review of yours, you will probably sell your BD to someone else or something, since you only like 5 songs of the concert :P

Τhey should seriously consider hiring all of Konno's strings quarter instead of just him, since they use it anyway for the strings that back up the violin, :uh..:

Ah no. I'll still keep it for eye candy in my room, ofc. I buy their stuffs because I like looking at the physical stuffs lol. Some of my CDs are still in their plastic wrapping.

Elemental, storytelling, forest, Luminous sword, Nohara, Gaika, stone cold and zodiacal sign for favorites of the live. Actually, almost the entire performance ranged from decent to goosebumps-inducing. Really enjoyed it a lot.

The only song I didn't like was Kimi ga Ita Monogatari. The problem is more so with the song itself than the vocalists; ie. it's boring.

I just wish there was more Yuriko camera shots, but I do love how the girls changed formation during some of the songs.

Perhaps it's a case of NewFans liking NewShit and OldFags liking OldShit...

PS. I don't really like the ~DreamField mix myself. ;P It's okay as an experiment (like oblivious Fukan Fukei mix) but I treasure the original(s).
