^My favorite is still Grave of the Fireflies, with Princess Mononoke coming in second. But I do love Nausicaa, my friend Lisa reeeeally likes that movie too.

Saw a preview of "The Other Woman" last Friday (not my kind of movie, it was work).

Re-hired and re-watched Akira Kurosawa's "High and Low", a 1963 film set in Yokohama and Enoshima:

:nophoto:

They actually filmed from inside this train while it was moving.

The coastal railway from Kamakura to Enoshima "Enoden".

Mount Fuji prominent in the background thanks to a high-powered telephoto shot.

after relentlessly pestering me, my sister convinced me to see Divergent and I actually enjoyed it and I may or may not have also been comparing it to history and some dystopian books I've read :punched:

Just saw From Up on Poppy Hill, which was pretty good. Kind of ended abruptly. Then How to Train Your Dragon 2 on Monday, which was so good! Hope to see it again soon.

Transformers Age of Extincion - if you're looking for a popcorn movie or a silly summer flick you'll probably enjoy it enough.

Saw Interstellar last night, some good "hard" science fiction but a lot of tragedy (mainly things being worse than they seemed at first). At 169 minutes long it could nearly do with a break somewhere near the middle.

a few weeks ago I watched Battle Royale. In some aspects it was more terrifying than the Hunger Games.

Recently I watched The Maze Runner, Fury, and John Wick.

The Maze Runner is okay - there are some obvious plotholes in the movie though, since it differs from the book. I still like it.

Fury is good. The lead actors are Brad Pitt and Logan Lerman but it's Shia LaBeouf who really captured my attention. There are some funny moments in the movie so it's not all heavy. Like it.

John Wick is also good. There are some plotholes (again) but all in all I like it. Keanu Reeves did a great job on portraying a ruthless assassin here. I think this is the only movie I know that has so many people killed by one person.

I remember seeing previews for that movie. It sparked my interest, but I haven't found time to watch it yet.

Last night I watched Kaze Tachinu with my grandma for the second time. Miyazaki, your works will be missed.

Just got back from watching Mockingjay in theatres. Gawd. Makes me want to reread all the books again.
Also, it was my cousin's third time watching the movie. I think she saw the first movie in theatres five times though.

Detective Conan - The Dimensional Sniper (I got a free badge and a fan when I watched in the theater)

Lucy, and Interstellar...

BEST MOVIES OF MY LIIIIIFE !!! :wai: (with Mandela, long walk to
freedom)

EDIT : (Except from all the Ghibli movies, and all the Japanese films)

ahh I forgot I had watched this too. I want a free badge ;__;
this movie is now one of my favourite DC movies, because of a certain character  :TdT:

I just watched 'Johnny Mnemonic' last night. It's based on a story by one of my fave writers (William Gibson) but it's a mid 90s SF movie starring Keanu Reeves, so...yeah. A bit dated and silly, but the futuristic stuff is cool and it also stars Takeshi Kitano as a yakuza boss, plus Henry Rollins as a back-alley doctor. :XD:

I think the line "I! WANT! ROOM! SERVICE!" is one of my favourite movie quotes now!
