Kalafina new single ひかりふる

To those saying that Wakana sounds totally fine, please, go put on Ashita no Keshiki, listen to it and then immediately shove on Hikari Furu and TELL ME that she sounds just as good. Can no one else hear the honk? The first word "Hikari" should be enough...

Actually, like once ninetales have said, I think Wakana's voice became like this not because of some sickness, but because she changed her singing technique. Ah, I'll leave it on this.

This single is essentially a big recycling bin.

how true :XD:

I was really hoping that hikari furu is an original piece
since mirai is already like that
and magia was just remixed

Incidentally, I can't find Ashita no Keshiki on youtube, anyone can direct me to the video? :)

Also I agree, this entire single is just a bunch of recycled tracks.... But made better by Kalafina, so what's to complain about? I only wish they used Sis Puella Magica though....

Just watched quattro live. Since the first time I've listened to Magia, my opinion stands still. The best part is the "yehehehehe" part.

The strings is random. Ruined the fierce feeling of the song. The strings doesn't go well with the chorus for me :/

^@Glare: sorry, this is from some Chinese site - it's just the quickest one I can find... http://www.xiami.com/song/play?ids=/song/playlist/id/3559592/object_name/default/object_id/0

Hikari furu: Ohhh I wept... :TdT: I'm a sucker for big swelling ballads and Seventh Heaven is one of my favourite Kala songs so I really like hikari furu :shy: :shy: though I still think Seventh Heaven is better hehehe

Hikari furu live: A few slipups and harmony problems here and there, but not enough to detract from the performance overall, for me. I still think it was great and I loved it :shy: Didn't hear enough Hikaru to really say anything...but Keiko was totally amazing :dote: Wakana also sounded really good, a lot more like her old self. She still sounds shaky when she transitions into and out of falsetto (or head voice or whatever it's called), and her falsetto does still sound sharper than I remember it to be. Regardless, I'm still loving the way her voice sounds now. True, it's not necessarily back to its perfect original condition, but it's getting there, I think. :shy: (if it is, however, a change in singing technique rather than physical condition like dandy said, I have nothing to say. But I wish that she will return to her old singing technique, unless of course she switched because it was a bad or damaging technique, which I somehow doubt anyway...but I still love her and her voice whichever way she chooses to sing :shy: )

Mirai Live: Not as good a hikari furu - for me, Hikaru seemed to be a bit uncertain at the beginning but otherwise did a great job throughout the song. Didn't really hear enough keiko to be able to say anything meaningful...Wakana was fine for me, but looking as though she was having more trouble on this song than hikari furu. Still, I think she did a decently good job with those high notes in the middle. There was a bit of trouble holding some of the long notes but they didn't sound too off to me. So, overall, good as well, but not as good as hikari furu.

An unrelated to their singing, let me just say that Wakana's smile made my heart constrict and die :hearts: :hearts:

Magia quattro: Well, first of all let me just say that I don't particularly like this version of Magia much because for some reason the strings accompaniment doesn't seem to fit the vocals when I hear it. (does anyone else here get that impression? O.o) With regards to the singing, it just sounds like any other normal magia performance of theirs. Pretty good. :goodjob:

Also, I really like the way the three of them looked~ :shy: I really wouldn't mind if they dressed in normal clothes like this when performing (to be honest they sometimes look nicer in their normals clothes than in some of their Kalafina dresses :blood: ) Also, Hikaru's waist is so tinyy! :omg: Hope she's eating well... But she's gotten so pretty :dote: Keiko always looks beautiful. And Wakana was blooming, I tell you. BLOOMING.

In conclusion, I'm quite happy and satisfied with their performance, looking forward to this single, and actually this time given up hope on them having a plotline to their PVs. :ohoho:

^ seems like Kalafina is turning into Yuki's new cover group with Hikarifuru/Mirai/MagiaQ whilst FJ is starting to transition into a more Kalafina-like image with Distance/EB? :ayashii: (though it was mostly the dresses in FJs case XD)

If you look at the live on niconico douga, I can tell you that something is wrong. She is way too tense when singing, which is hard on your vocal chords. There are places where I can see the veins in her neck pop up when she's singing. I have also noticed that her voice has changed, and I'm worried that it might be due to improper singing technique based on what I saw in the most recent live. She could also barely hit the lower notes. She always struggles with those, but they were worse than usual.

Keiko in Hikari Furu is AMAZING in that live, though. Keiko is just <3.

^ I guess she was almost inaudible in her 'toki wo tomete' line in Magia...

I also just realised that Mirai sounds almost like Eden's long-lost twin to me :XD:

also, guys, I don't mean to be bossy but if we're going to start talking about Wakana's voice issues again we should move the convo to the vocal discussion thread so we don't clog up this one and potentially annoy people...

Why do I feel like most Kalafina threads nowadays end up inevitably on this topic again? :XD:

I didn't mean to continue to derail the topic, but as a vocalist I was just concerned at how obviously tense Wakana is in that performance. And I mean physically tense.

I hadn't noticed that Hikari Furu sounds like Eden, but I didn't listen to it super carefully.

As for Mirai, I really like it, but at the same time I really like the tone of the singing in the original. It's just gorgeous.

I really love the strings in Magia Quattro, but when I listen to it again I will listen closely to the chorus to see if I agree with other posters who think that they do not fit well there.

Either way, I'm totally psyched for this single. I'm also really, REALLY happy that they're finally including instrumental backing tracks for all of the tracks on the single. Usually I fall in love with the b-side and want to cover it, but there's no instrumental track and removing the center vocal channel often doesn't work. For example, one of my favorite Kalafina songs is Sapphire, but even with the fabulous center channel removal tool in Adobe Audition, the vocals are way too strong in the background, so I don't think I'll ever be able to cover that one.

^ I don't know why but there are some bits in the verses which I think sound a bit strange in the new Magia...it could be that I'm just too used to the original, though, and Quattro might grow on me :XD:

And I guess the instrumentals all being present would make up for the fact that all the songs are remixed/vocal versions of old tracks? :ohoho: I'm actually looking forward to Magia Quattro instrumental...I have the nagging suspicion I might even like it better than with vocals... :desksweat:

I really like both songs, but I'm going to have to say I preferred Hikaru Furu to Mirai in the live. . . So beautiful :shy:

Personally, I thought the lives of the songs were pretty good;;

Agreed~
The strings are gorgeous and powerful in this version of the song, so I feel the singing doesn't quite match up with it. . . I can't wait for the instrumental :sohappy:

I thought the PV was pretty excellent with the whole one shot for entire video thing (with KEIKO in the centre the whoel time and on screen 95% of the time teehee) until i realised at the end the setting was some darn church on the side of the street. -_____-

When the doors first opened I thought they were at the gates of heaven.

Okay, watched the PV of Hikari. It is growing on me I think. The beginning is still weird to me, but then it gets really beautiful. (Even with all the key changes and flats.) It almost made me cry, I think in the right situation it would. I do agree that Keiko looks weird in this, especially when the door opens. (heh a door and lamps, I wonder where this obsessions started with Yuki) (I like how "mirai" made it in there) The violins are really pretty. I really like from about 2:00-2:50, especially Hikaru's parts. But then it gets weird again. Maybe listening from the cd will be different. I still like Mirai better. The ending is really nice, even though it is kind of abrupt. :dote:

@oliver: I wish they would do something really cool and add wings appearing on them in the PV, that would be awesome!

^ the obsession with the lamps and the chairs is not Yuki's but Sony's since Yuki has no word over the PV making or the promotion in general I think.

:omg: I'm back and found out that the whole songs in HikariFuru single have already been unveiled during the studio live!
Oh~can someone give me any links where to download the HikariFuru PV?the mediafire one has already been deleted and I'm not a member of nico... :uh..:
Thank you in advance!

Yeah have little bulbs of light come down on them (like on the cover) and then wings appear :shy:

New Madoka Magica Song Versions!

:innocent: Hi, haha I'm new here, but i've been following this site for about a month now :psst:
You guys are seriously amazing :plz:

I thought I'd share what I found with all you lovely people, new versions of Magia, Sagitta Luminis, and a Japanese version of Credens Justitiam sung by Kalafina! :nosebleed:

Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYQ2YR8xauQ

Oh wow the PV was absolutely lovely! It really really reminded me of their performance of Oblivious in Seventh Heaven live - Goddesses in pure white, in a heavenly background, with ethereal music wafting.....

:sohappy:

After watching the PV the second time, I thought it was lovely. It has a mysterious and relaxing feeling to it. Like for a moment you went to heaven and met three lovely angels. (well that was what I felt XD) Though I was laughing at how boring it was during the first time I've watched it. BTW, they were amazing, I've notice that their movements and lips are so accurate. What I mean is that, it was as if they were really singing during the making of the PV or they are just great actresses.
:XD:

I can totally imagine Yuki-sensei standing in front of them during the making.

Yuki: Ok! Listen. You three will sing it properly once the camera starts. I mean REALLY sing, like you are having a concert.

Kalafina girls: Eeeeeehh.. :uh..: :uh..: :uh..:

Yuki: No Complaining! or I'll make sundays as rehearsal days as well! :glower:

Kalafina Girls: :omg: :omg: :omg:
:ohoho:
