wow they were spot on most of the time. wakana and keiko especially sound great. I noted no worries about wakana's high notes this time (e.g. signal) :)

storia live will never be like the studio version I guess.

why does Keiko hesitate/stop intermittently at the beginning of yami no uta? ..

I definitely prefer this over Bodukan. I don't even remember much from it, only that Hikaru was really out, Keiko and Wakana were not soo great. So this live is hopeful.

Sorairo no Isu has some really nice crisp piano and captivating strings. but drumming midway? is a bit problematic.

I couldn't care less about kaladansu but I think they were enjoying themselves.

I appreciated nightmare ballet as well. but perhaps a bit too much guitar there.

Overall, I am very pleased about this live. (Still, I want my full orchestra lives, more Hanae and Yuriko, more meaningful osts etc etc etc etc)

recently watched the documentary of fotw live in hongkong
what a precious 19 minutes video
eventhough i dont understand what they say but this documentary made me happy. they seem really enjoyed their live performance

I know it's still a bit early to ask this, but did the live change anyone's opinion on fotw? I was really down on the album when it first dropped but the Live has really made a positive impression on me. There are still plenty of problems, but I just feel more optimistic about Kalafina's direction after this.

It definitely gave more of a collective "meaning" to the record. I guess after observing the colourful visualisations, I was able to understand the work much more (especially usumurasaki).

It's unfortunate the b-sides are often forgotten after release, but this live surely pulles all a- and b-sides together under a collective energy, which I appreciate.

I haven't watched the doc yet, but I will tonight probably. And watch some of the songs over again. (already did Musunde twice because it is gold.) Here is my review:

Koibito: Awesome. That dance though… I love this song and loved it live. Though the clouds in the beginning was a bit... annoying. It made everything fuzzy and I was not a fan.

Monochrome: Also great. The dancing… so strange and very clunky. Wakana is great. Strange that they changed the one line Keiko has to Hikaru.

Gogatsu: Wow. This is damn near perfect. Wakana is sweating that much already and it’s only the beginning. I feel kind of sorry for her every time. That string quartet. Konno!!!!!:chuu: Sorry, Konno fangirl. Wakana is a little shaky but overall it is great. Hikaru sounds better than on the recording actually. I love it when someone who isn’t singing sings along off mic. Shows that they really love and know the music. Wow, that long note of Wakana’s at the end. Amazing. :dote:

Sorairo: Very pretty. I wanted them to focus on the quartet though. Is it the same people who did Red and Blue day? Seriously. (I know now they do later though. Heh But not often.)

Lapis: Not a huge fan of the song, but this was very pretty. Especially when they held the “gu” And now they show Korenaga but for a short while. I know they do a span of the stage sometimes, and the focus is on the girls. But it’s them and the band members too.

Kagayaku: Wow, that Kajiurago part. Wakana you are awesome, Hikaru and Keiko too, of course. :tea:

Musunde: :sohappy::dote::love: Oh… I got chills when they started. I may love this better than the original, but it’s pretty perfect again. You can really see though on Keiko’s face how much she loves the song. And hey, there’s the quartet and piano. Heh Wow, did not notice how much of a heel Keiko was wearing. Yikes. I love all of their hair pieces as well. So awesome. I cannot say enough good things about this performance. I know it wasn’t a really well liked song from reading peoples’ reviews of fotw, but I love it. (Btw, anyone have mp3 versions of the songs? Please? :plz:)

Storia: wow, started off strong. This is actually by far the best version live yet, I think. Maybe because they have perfected it now after singing it so many times. Haha I love the song and love it live as well. Love their swaying back and forth. I wanted to get up and do it too.

Misterioso: Wow, Wakana is really powerful here. Got chills again (or maybe it was because I was in the cold basement heh). I love watching it on the big screen since it makes it seem like I’m there. It shows the girls up close, which I guess if you’re in the first row you get to see them that way. Heh Love the song.

One Light: I do not care for the song much, it has grown on me. This live was awesome. Thank you for showing more of the quartet and other band members. I liked the piano. Keiko kneeling, that person must have thought “She’s going to take my hand!” lol :plot:I liked that they were on the other parts of the stage too. Wakana on Kajiurago part… Hikaru’s move towards the end… what was that?

Nightmare ballet: Loved it when Sakurada and Konno were just playing by themselves.

Into the water: They kind of look like the jellyfishes from the believe video.

In every nothing: What in the world are they wearing? Don’t like this song very much, but it’s grown on me. I liked it live. The dance was actually kind of cool. I don’t like Korenaga’s solo part in original or this… sorry Kore.

Yami no Uta: Okay, these dresses are pretty. I kind of like how Keiko pauses in the beginning. Not on my favorite songs to listen to either, but I love Keiko’s deep voice. The slow dance is kind of cool too. I love the lace on these outfits… sorry for not commenting on the performance. Wakana… I commend you for your hard parts in this song. It seems like a hard one to sing live, and she did excellently.

Believe: See, I really like this song. To see people standing was nice. I like how they are wearing their colors. Hikaru sounded a little shaky on her part “negai no zanzou ga noizu no you ni futte” unless she was just putting more emotion into it.

Hokage: I liked that they only shown the light on the two that were singing. Not a favorite either, but very pretty. Love the strings part.

Usumurasaki: lol that dance again… Wakana was wrinkling her forehead a lot it must be a hard song to sing. That dance made me laugh, I didn’t hate it, just thought it was funny, like the te to and Moonfesta ones. I love this song, it entrances me and makes me think of Arslan Senkai actually. :innocent:

Identify: I do not like this song very much, but I liked it live. I liked it when they were up with Kore.

Signal: Not a fan of this song either. //Is slapped :...:. I like it live, but I don’t like Hikaru’s part. Wow, Kore’s playing. Wakana is great, hit her high notes perfectly. Keiko’s part is great too.

Ongaku: I know they sing it at every live pretty much, but it’s always a fun song for me. Since I have been with Kalafina since the beginning and this was one of the first ones I heard (besides all the KnK ones of course) by them, I still like it a lot. Plus you can really tell that they like performing it too. It seems fun. I like the violinists tapping their bow. :hearts: I love that Konno has a part too, I wish it had been in the original. Holy crap… I just died… :imdead: wait, Wakana is still singing. Lol That was some impressive bowing.

Heavenly bruu (lol)- Again another song I do not care for usually, I like Wakana’s part a lot. This is no exception.

Seventh heaven: This is my first time seeing this song live. Wow. I am speechless… really.

Ring your bell: I really love their dresses here, even Hikaru’s weird necklace thing. Love this song, the flow between them is seamless. All of them. This is pretty perfect. I love Hikaru’s beru at the end.

Mahiru: I wonder why Keiko doesn’t waver in the beginning like Hikaru does. I guess I’ve listened to the recording too much. Haha Wakana’s solo at the end. Almost. made. me. cry. :touched:

Far on the water: Wow, their harmonies in this song. Never realized how awesome it is, until now. I have goosebumps yet again. They all did exceptionally, to say the least.

I thought they did very well. Wakana shaky at parts, but heck, she had a lot of really high notes and hard songs to sing, like signal and Yami and Usu. Favorites: pretty much all except signal, idetify, and Heavenly blue. Musunde takes the cake. Even listening to the original now is... weird. :dote: The dancing was a bit offputting, but in a good way I guess? Not saying it was bad. I commend them for not tripping on the stairs as I would have done like a million times. Especially Keiko in those heals in all outfits. They all were beautiful. Poor Wakana in the beginning was sweating a lot, but then later on she got more comfortable I guess. I even saw Hikaru sweating after they did a few really fast songs. Which still amazes me that they can do. Like in the Consolation live. I guess I wanted more shots of the instrumentalists since they are also part of Kalafina. But at least it wasn't like Blue/Red Day. Love Konno, of course, and all of them did awesomely. Great job girls and band. I wonder where Yuki was sitting? :plot:

Yes. The album initially seemed very randomly slapped together, but this live really brought out the "color" theme that I never noticed. I guess that's just my fault for neglecting the lyrics. Although, I think Kajiura could have done more to make that more apparent in the music.

Still, as you said, the live brought together a and b sides under a collective; that was a really nice touch, and I hope they continue to put this much thought into their live setlists.

Far on the Water Live Blu-ray sold 4845 copies while the DVD sold 1366 copies in the first week.

How about position on the weekly chart?

The BD is 10th overall and 2nd on music. The DVD is 24th overall and 11th on music.

This is less than Blue and Red days by 1000 for the Red and 1500 for the Blue. (Blue and Red are the two best selling albums and lives)
It's surppassed "After Eden" even though it's the first week, but it's still under Consolation untill now. Red Moon is out because we're talking about BDs while it's sold mostly DVDs, and it's the best selling DVD for Kalafina.

The purpose of the clouds was to conceal them in mystery.

Those lines BELONG to HIKARU. "madobe no kanshou de"

Signal: Not a fan of this song either. //Is slapped :...:. I like it live, but I don’t like Hikaru’s part. Wow, Kore’s playing. Wakana is great, hit her high notes perfectly. Keiko’s part is great too.
Probably helps that there was a [very loud] backing track with YURIKO KAIDA's original chorus vocals during WAKANA's "high notes". Same goes for the ahh's from "monochrome".

You are not the only one. The same happened to me with After Eden. The album was too different to Seventh Heaven and Red Moon for my taste, and wasn't a big fan until the Blu-Ray was released. Blu-Ray version of In Your Eyes is still one of my favorite songs to listen.

I got the Far in the Water Blu-Ray this week. Listening for the first time. Big step forward from Consolation Blu-Ray.

If the Mexico concert was anything like this, damn, I missed out big time.
