Gogatsu sounds like some anime opener imo lol but I know what you mean

… I feel like Keiko could've done the starting vocals for that as well as for Usumurasaki maybe.
Just listened to the into the water sample and pretty cool I guess.
I hope Keiko has more parts than what the samples suggest but I won't get my hopes up.

thanks @grunty!!
into the water is a great overture!
Gogatsu no mahou is an energic ballad - I love it
Usumurasaki - oriental style! Maybe another sandpiper?
I love this album :hearts:! Every track (maybe except FOW and Musunde Hiraku) is amazing for me. FOW and Usumurasaki are only good
Ah, only 4 days to release... I can't wait!!!:wai:

Oh, I forgot about Hokage.
I don't prefer songs like this (it's similiar to sapphire, Kichiigo no shiemi ni). It's the one song in whole album which I don't like.
And into the water gives a spiritual and misterious atmosphere - it's something what I expected

Thanks grunty

Gogatsu and Usumurasaki are pretty cool based on their samples. Hokage is ok but I think it's going in the same file as Kichigo, Haru wa Kogane, and sapphire.

Sorairo is still my favorite of the bunch though.

Ty so much for the link^^

into the water sounds cool but I think it clashes a little with the atmosphere of the album we've seen so far. I think it would fit Red Moon better.

Gogatsu no Mahou's intro reminds me of movies about King Arthur and the medieval period in general. A feeling I had before with IEN's intro. The song sounds nice so far and Wakana's part is lovely.

Usumurasaki's intro is love. I like the atmosphere it builds up. I hope the rest of the song is great too.

Hokage sounds kind of sleep inducing. Sapphire ver. 2.0 kind of.

This album seems better than it promised. I hope not to be proven wrong with the release.

Into the water is nice. It has like an atmosphere of mystery. I don't know how to explain it. Like witches invoking something (?) Although is not anything that we haven't listened to before.

I like Gogatsu no mahou. The beginning sounds like pirates (far on the water?), but the first verse is... I'm sure I've heard it before in another Kalafina song. I like what Wakana sings after that.

I have expectations for Usumurasaki! It's like Sandpiper (hopefully Sandpiper, yes) in some sense... I really want to listen to the full version.

Hogake sounds ok, but I'm kinda dissapointed. I like ballads, but why it has to be so similar to others we already have? Is it compulsory? I don't know. It will probably grow on me.

Few days left!

Not a Kalafina song, EVERYTIME YOU KISSED ME. I think.

Wow, samples... hmm. Do I listen? I think I will try and hold off and listen to all of the Kala that's already out. heh But I am liking what I am seeing from the forum so far. I like sandpiper, so that would be fine with me, the same with sapphire and Kichigo, so that's fine too. I actually played sapphire before or I can play it should say. I don't listen to it often but I do love it. It's creepy and cool. I was hoping for another I have a dream though, listening to that song now and it balances all the girls perfectly and is a great song and ballad.

I must try my hardest not to listen to the samples. Arrrrgh.

Thanks grunty-kun for the sample link! Blergh, Hokage is sapphire ver.02. No. Usumurasaki sounds interesting. Gogatsu no Mahou is also okay. Sadly I already am not interested in this album anymore because almost all the songs are basic Kalafina standard nowadays with Hikaru on verses and Wakana on prechorus and chorus. Keiko is definitely left behind. Bye Keiko. Bye Kalafina. Thanks for the 7 years we've been together.

Thank you, @grunty, for providing the link!

In Gogatsu no Mahou, HIKARU's verse sounds like a combination of "every time you kiss me" (as others have already mentioned) in the first line and "Distance" on the second line; then third line and fourth line repeat the same pattern. (i.e. in Distance, the line "yobiau yo tooi shinjitsu"). However, WAKANA's pre-chorus is what sounds fresh! Really enjoying her lines so far... Cannot wait to hear the whole thing!

"Usumurasaki"... Oh my goodness..... Really feelin' it! Yes Kajiura YES! I DIE for these Middle Eastern themed types of music.. Which was why the "red moon" album was such a favourite of mine.

I had read earlier that somebody felt that WAKANA sounds bland and boring in this album. I would actually disagree with that, and argue that she sounds amazing, even if she doesn't have much variety to the way she's using her voice. Her random line popping out in "monochrome" ("mienai", which followed HIKARU's opening line) was SO random and whimsical to me.... Just really enjoying what she's throwing into this album.

into the water's amazing. Would be even more amazing if Kalafina sang it instead of playing it as BGM when the band members enter.
Gogatsu no Mahou is definitely something out of an anime OP. It actually sounds like an FJY song - not complaining at all. Sounds good.
Urusumaki's great. Can't wait for the full version.
Hokage - I actually like this. It's been a while since we had the usual Kalafina-style ballad. Wakana's voice is getting closer to her older one every time.

As a first impression for this album, there's definitely some stuff we haven't heard out of Kalafina. It's not mind-blowing like Consolation's album original songs, but it's a very good listen nonetheless. It's a lot better than what After Eden had to offer (mainly because it had MnY, Kugatsu and Kotonoha which I really don't care for at all). While it's still the usual Wakana > Hikaru > Keiko in terms of lead vocals, I don't mind it this time.

It definitely is their most energetic album, like what Kajiura says, but I feel it's also the most...Japanese (?) one, for lack of a better term (except Urusumaki, haha). Even FotW when I heard it for the first time sounded distinctly Japanese.

into the water: Gives a RHH bgm feel, I really like the mystery feel. I wonder if it has Kalafina vocals too or its just kajiurago.
gogatsu no mahou: I really like the druming and the strings dont sound soul-less like usually. The chorus is very powerful behind Hikaru and Wakana and that makes the song really uplifting.
Usumurasaki: This brings to mind a situation of someone wondering inside a unknown forest. Love Wakana's voice, but will see be able to pull it off at a live, seems like its a pretty high note there.
Hokage: Same worry as Usumurasaki. Sounds a kinda boring song from the sample.

The new album songs are really well done (except musunde). I am very :sohappy: I wonder why Kajiura was saving the good melodies for the album, serving us mediocre songs in the singles.
Its true that Keiko has been really neglected since consolation. She practically got 1-2 lines on every single song (except ftw where she has few more lines and lapis which idndt made it to the album). I think that as a member of the group she at least deserves 1 song in each album to herself. Even on the very rockish songs like identify, she gets to share with Hikaru, who also gets parts in all the other songs :(

Also im surprised by the lack of flute in pretty much all the album songs. It used to be one of Yuki's favourite instruments, and in Red Moon we had gotten alot of it in fantasia, storia, Hoshi no Utai, symphonia etc

lolwut there's no flute in fantasia. songs with flute in Red Moon are Hikari no Senritsu, storia, Hoshi no Utai, and I have a dream. plus symphonia is in After Eden lol.

I want to listen more Keiko too :rain:
But we still don't know full tracks. We can only suspect how they sound. I hope for some interesting Keiko's verses
