Kalafina 5th album "far on the water"

Their's a track called Ninja?!?! That alone is exciting enough! Perhaps it's something like tetotetometome maybe like that end trumpet bit (from the JBC Hall live) That's always been one of the best parts of the song. To be honest I can't even fathom what it'll be but it's got me intrigued. But I hope it's something more distinct from the regular stuff we've been seeing recently. I have a feeling Keiko will lead. I just have a gut feeling.

Noooo!!! :omgz:It was a joke... My association with Hokage is ninja because of Naruto, but i wasn't serious! I've read before that post translation of titles. From the other side I wish that one song from album will remind me Hoshi no Utai.

And why is no cover yet?

Not saying that it would be bad, but as interesting as a rap would be for Hikaru to do (for us fans), I hope Kajiura doesn't go there because Kalafina is a branded as a vocal unit and imo if they want people to take them seriously, rap isn't the way to go. I remember someone saying r&b would be the last genre that Kajiura would do. I think it's rap. lol. But I guess if you look at it another way, one song shouldn't really make a difference.

On another note, I'm on the fence if I want to preorder fotw or get it later ….. it's funny because I didn't get Consolation until recently and I liked 13/14 songs. I might just go for it… hopefully the cover is nice.

vocal groups doesnt mean they cant do their own different songs in albums. Especially since after seventh heaven, Kajiura has been using each girl on different part of song and has been lazy to make harmonies like in Kimi ga Hikari pre-climax and oblivious bridge.
Ongaku Magnolia Kyrie and signal are not apart from club music with a touch of classical, so why not in rap too ? There have been examples of the combination by other composers, see reverse the destiny and battle scars

Also we have many times been fooled by the cover so far. It needs to match to good songs, firsst and foremost, since they are singers, not photo models.

I think it would be cool if identify turns out to be a rap song for a change, Kajiura has never made a song of the type and Im sure Hikaru can pull it off :D
It'd be lovely if you and the other people who liked your post stopped reducing rap to just "saying words rhythmically". Kajiura can't make a rap. Rappers aren't singers. Rapper are rappers. Stop.
And no, Hikaru wouldn't pull it off.
Christ.

Let me quote your words and say "they are singers, not rappers". Hikaru may or may not be able to pull it off, but her job first and foremost is a singer. And yes, Kajiura has been lazy with the chorus work but rap is something that she just doesn't do, despite the variety of sounds she makes. Also last time I checked, the general definition of vocal group: A vocal group is a group of singers who sing and harmonize together with a backing band. Which of course doesn't mean they are not allowed to rap, but look at the bigger picture. Again, they are (as we all know) a vocal unit known for their harmonization. I am not sure what you're trying to say about Ongaku, etc. but those are still songs with actual singing so your point is kind of moot? And Lotus Juice is a rapper so I'm kind of confused as to how it would connect to Kajiura theoretically making this kind of combi for Kalafina? If I wanted to listen to rap, I would go listen to Epik High or something lol. (Tablo and Mithra are geniuses)

and about the cover … it had no correlation to me wanting/not wanting to buy the album. I'm just concerned about the actual music content. haha

Thank you! lapis Someone agrees with me for once (besides my brother) about rap. It is not music, even though there's some instruments, which is a waste of them actually, and while Yuki made that one "rap" thing for the Madoka movie, it didn't sounds like it even. I think the closest would be Hikaru's part in HB, but even that has more melody than any rap, because it is NOT music. Music means having a melody, instruments, singing (not talking), harmonies, notes, you get the picture. Sorry, I just hate rap so much, and if Yuki starts making it I really would stop listening to her. So I hope she doesn't go there.

Maybe there will be something like Chinese music related? Since she went to China for inspiration. I know the girls didn't, but maybe she wrote a song similar to it. That's what I think of when I listen to Hoshi no Uta actually. It is one of my least favorite songs, but it's interesting.

Please tell me why you would say this to me and even "thank" me when my avatar is Nicki Minaj. Did you really think I was going to agree with you? Rap IS music and the people who usually disagree are elitist, classist, AND racist. Anyway, I'm stopping right here in case George wants to jump in about me hurting someone's feelings again.

So much drama. Personally I don't think the vocal style of rap would fit Kalaflina's image however perhaps a composition of music inspired by rap instrumentals... that'd be cool

Err, intruding here but...

I believe music (and its definition) is subjective to the listener; it isn't something that can be pinned down. It is whatever the listener deems as music, whether that be rap, opera, instrumental, etc.

Quoting Kajiura herself here, she said that Kalafina is a pop group and the music she composes for them is, generally speaking, pop music. There may be some traditional/classical/whatever touches here and there but they're still pop. I once said no matter how I wanted a jazz song by Keiko I'm not sure if Kajiura will ever make it (and putting sax doesn't make a song a jazz song). Pop with jazzy tunes, maybe. Pure jazz song? Not likely. Least of all rap. Plus, after all it clashes with their overall "image", like someone said above (using phone atm, sorry can't scroll and posting).

For side notes, I like rap. It's just not a thing I'd like to see the girls do. And Liana, I usually like your post but I certainly hope you just can't recognize Minaj or doesn't know who the girl is in lapis's avatar (tho it isn't likely because it's Minaj's face) because well that was awkward to read.

Anyway people it's only 3 weeks until the release so idk just be patient because all these speculations of what the songs are gonna sound are kinda...pointless. Not judging what the songs may sound like from the title could make you pleasantly surprised when the song sounds to your liking and at the same time save you from the disappointment of the song doesn't sound like how the title make it may sound. Plus it's not "limiting" the songs, as in limiting how the songs may sound based only on the titles.

thanks for the link, Rit-chan!.. this is heaven! (except for the typeset XD)

Thanks for finding/posting @ritardando and @sprinterXkyrie! I agree with those above; I like the RE and vinyl covers the best. Alas, I want the DVD one, which isn't too bad, just kinda bare imo.

I think the only thing that's bothering me about it is the style of the title. It was kinda hard to spot, particularly on the Blu-Ray.

Wow love the RE cover and that's a bonus because I was going for the RE anyway. This album's cover art is also my favorite of them all (same as someone up there). The vinyl one like everyone mentioned is nice as well, but I've no use for it. Shall order when I get home ~ I'm more excited now
