Kalafina 18th single "One Light" for Arslan Senki [confirmed]

No one asked for ritardando to defend himself/herself. It's just fuel for the discussion.

(These 2 posts above me make me really wanna click show ignored content but nah)

clarification: the 2 posts I meant were lapis' and sora's.

You're really not missing much other than irrelevant and pointless bickering.

^I know right? Didn't that happen before with a single? The samples didn't come out until after the release. heh Darn you Sony!

Also why do you even post if all you are going to do is complain? I mean, yes, they probably get criticism, being a band and all (I am sure every band/singer/composer get it, and not just them either) but it's getting a little overboard now. I know it's talking about the album and the band, but this seems like just complaining to me. If they were not a good band, why would they go to Budokan? Why have they created a BEST compilation and now a 6th album? They are excellent live, and have fans from all over the world. Okay, back to the topic now.

I wonder if the (relative) lack of promotion for the single is because the album is out so soon afterwards. I bet there's only a small group of staff at the offices trying to handle both releases at the same time, so they probably had to prioritise. I could understand if they're preoccupied with getting the album organised.

I am just saying for Kalafina alone, this is what I see. I still love them, and Kajiura. So I try to not post these things but things are getting a little out of control, so just voicing my opinion.

Mahiru has a good Keiko solo, and I hope its not just the first verse XD
and that Samidare ga Sugita Koro ni sounds like FictionJunction-ish track, lol XDD
overall, this single was good, I guess. Just 4 days left! :)

I don't know what to think of it at the moment, the snippets are too short to judge anything. Though they are definitely not what I was hoping for.

Track 3 sounds like something you would hear at the end of a j-drama lol. I quite like Mahiru , or more accurately Keiko makes it sound good. This is not their strongest single though, imo.

Mahiru sounds like a pretty song . I hope Keiko is lead.
3rd track is not what I expected with that title, hue. It does sound like an ED song for a drama.

I feel like I heard the 2nd track before - is it a selfcover?

The last few seconds of the piano intro sound familiar, but I don't think it's a self cover.

2nd track: the intro makes me hope for an accoustic song, with only piano and maybe some strings, I'm really looking forward for this one. Still, Keiko's voice sounds unusual to me, I hope it's only because the samples are low-quality.
3rd track: pretty unexpected, and that's good news, regarding our concerns about Kajiura-sensei's inspiration.

It's a pity the audio quality is bad but the b-sides don't sound bad at all. Samidare sounds great imo. Can't wait for the full release.

3rd track: pretty unexpected, and that's good news, regarding our concerns about Kajiura-sensei's inspiration.

Even if the sound/arrangement is "unusual"/"unexpected" for Kajiura, it's a simple one that doesn't make the song any better considering the vocal line is already a rather simple-Kajiura-standard going by the sample.

tldr: far on the water better be amazing.

Though the snippets are quite short, I like Keiko in Mahiru and I hope she leads this song. On the other hand, as much as I enjoy Alleluia and lapis, for example, I want more rockish Keiko lead songs.

Not sure how I feel about the third track, which probably means it'll be a meh track for me.

I actually like both. I think Mahiru is really pretty, almost doesn't sound like Keiko here! (Reminds me of her voice in Kaze no Machi e, and maybe Kajiura wanted her to sound that way for this song, which I will invite gladly) 3rd one, interesting. I like this drumming (with the symbols) style much better than in One Light (though I know it's for an anime) but I did not find it very FJ, I actually thought that for OL. But yes, these are just samples, and we haven't heard OL's full version, which I am kind of excited for after the PV sample, but that's just me. I can't wait to hear the vinyl version too! It will be my first vinyl and first Kalafina one. (Missed the ring your bell one *sigh*) and I hope I can borrow my brother's record player. But I am glad she is branching out again with the style. far on the water might have a couple of these tracks, but there could be something amazing on it! I am hopeful. Also, Yuki has recently written for Hanako, so maybe she was thinking of that series, they do sound kind of similar, but in a good way. :dote:

I also like the unison of their voices in the 3rd one in the beginning, it's almost like Hikaru is the lead, but you can't really tell. It's nice.
