My favourite part of manten has gotta be from around 2:43 - 3:15(ish) and my favourite line from there would be the one that goes "...tsubasa wo hoshigatte dare mo ga naiteita..."

But I just love that whole verse

I gotta say, though, as much as I love Hikaru's singing in this one, vocally I prefer Wakana x Keiko than Wakana x Hikaru...maybe it’s just me but I find that whenever Hikaru harmonises with Wakana, her voice ends up overwhelming Wakana’s and almost drowning her out (even if Wakana’s line is the main melody)…even when it’s the three of them together, I can sometimes pick out Hikaru even more clearly than Wakana (e.g. on the word 'chorus' during the ‘manten no chorus’ part I literally cannot hear Wakana at all, only sort of hear Keiko and it’s just Hikaru that overrides them all)…so Wakana should power up and Hikaru should play it down a bit…
So yeah…in the end I think I prefer Hikaru singing main melodies rather than harmony lines...(Keiko’s the best harmoniser, imo, she’s really perfected the technique )

Oh, and the lyrics Aside from a composer I think Yuki would just as easily get by being a poet

So the strings in Manten is by Kido Kiyo again... TTB is obvious that it's KonnoSan, but for Manten, I just feel that it's a bit different from his style. (So..was Kido Kiyo's string credited for LTSFD?)

^ I'm not sure how to explain it exactly...Shinkai no Kodoku is very dramatic, but in a tragic way, while Manten has more of a "sweeping helicopter shot across the mountains showing the Fellowship of the Ring on their long journey" feeling to it. I probably shouldn't even be comparing them, since their moods are so different...

I guess what you tried to say is a grand&heroic feeling in Manten.. . (I'm a Tolkien's fan..lol.)

^ Yes, exactly! Shinkai no Kodoku has a more "personal" feeling to it, like it's telling the story of Romeo and Juliet or something similar, but I think Manten has a "grand scale" sound in comparison. I guess that's one way that it's like Red Moon

My scan made it to the Kalafina facebook page! yay! I still wish I had a better scanner, but it is still cool. And I'm loving manten more and more with each listen. It gets a little weird when Wakana gets really high, but then I think of their more egyptian sounding songs like te to and it makes me happy.

i find the taiko drum master version more enjoyable than the original
