Kalafina 10th single"to the beginning"(Fate/Zero OP2)

Overall, Manten is okay except that the violin parts are quite long. Hikaru and Keiko is okay but Wakana... well she did her best. She sounds a bit like in Lacrimosa.

Well, I think prefer To The Beginning than Manten. Since the song is still quite new to me, I'll need a little more time to absorb it's awesome-ness. :ohoho:

I feel trolled LOL It seems like the single didn't have the impact I was betting it would have after all, at least for now.
You mean in the charts or in our forum ?

If its the first maybe its because the opening animation of the new season sucks. Its too slow and the scenes it shows dont much with the lyrics at all.
If you mean the second, its because there will be always people that dont like a song no matter how good it is. :uh..:
(I remember there were complains for ALL Kalafina songs, even their first single)

Nah, I meant in the charts. When they announced they'd perform the OP for F/Z, I really thought it would be their most successful single to date. Guess I was wrong lol Although I blame it on the date. Well, it seems they have recovered from the 11th place, at least.

This will be surely off-topic...but after read ninetales quote, my thought was "Oh...if you added 'and then she became an evil' after that....it would completely describe Sayaka's fate....

Actually, mood-wise, Manten doesn't stand too far away from Decretum... :leaf: :ayashii:

Well, TTB, with all of its awesomeness, still doesn't sound as original and impactful as Magia (not to mention all the folks complaining around about its parallelheart-ness :XD: ), and F/Z, with all of its awesomeness, doesn't seem to get exactly as much hype as MadoMagi. YMMV on the reasons, but my take is that F/Z:
a) is adapted from a novel that many people have read, thus cancelling out massive WMG storms,
b) doesn't mess around with its genre so much,
c) doesn't feature enough cute schoolgirls :psst:
d) despite serving loads of Iri and Rider, still can't make up to some people who can't stand Saber :ohoho: Of course, as it was mentioned somewhere around here, Type-Moon fans stick to Saber more, but that leads us to point...
e) the show is still mostly appreciated by Type-Moon fans and FSN fans in particular. We probably gotta thank Yuki, Gen Urobuchi and Ufotable for the fact that this show seems to have reached out to much broader audience already.

To be honest, I prefer TTB to Magia...TTB has enough varied points to make it interesting after quite a few listens (although Sprinter will always be the one with the most of those varied points), while Magia tends to repeat itself, even more than D.U. in my opinion. I might just be biased, though, since I've heard so many remixes of Magia that I'm basically thoroughly sick of it :XD:

Too bad nobody zeals away to remix F/Z OST as extensively... or is it for the better? Confusing :XD:

Hmm....my zeal for this single seems to reflect my sentiments towards the anime it represents! :XD:

And I still don't know which version of the single I should get... :psst:

Regardless of all your points, TTB is the OP for a successful tv show. That was basically the sole reason why I thought it would surpass Magia. It's not about which show or song is better, but really just about it being an OP. For instance, oath sign sold LOTS (+80k if I'm not mistaken), so I could only imagine that Kalafina would do the same, if not even higher, since they have been getting a lot of attention lately.

As for the chart....I suspect that those 'Idolmaster' singles sweeping 4-5 places on the first day is one big reason..... :uh..: (I still don't know what are they...but 4-5 singles under this label already got almost half places in Top Ten..., if it's only one single, I think TTB can make it into Top10 since the first day..., but I don't think it'd be in Top5.)

I also remember that Oath Sign got very good place in Daily chart..., in Top5 for sure..., or even Top3. I'm also a bit disappointed for TTB as well...

However..., the good side that I can think of is...if TTB isn't that good in sale.... it may stop Yuki from composing this kind of song to Kalafina... :plot: Sorry guys...I know that many of you love TTB but this is just my personal taste.. I prefer sth. different.. .

THE iDOLM@STER dominating the charts is no surprise actually since the franchise is HUGE and fans would hoard the CDs regardless of whether the music is good or not. I'm an avid iDOLM@STER fan myself even though I honestly think none of those people whose CDs are currently up in the Oricon charts are genuinely decent singers (except for Hayami Saori). It's more fandom than anything else. :XD:

That makes your point clearer... 80k+ for EliSA, but not for Kalafina? Even if ELiSA has Angel Beats! in her portfolio, I doubt that was a defining factor. :uh..:

^ it was matter of luck, on which other singles and albums are released on the day that single releases, and imo its also because the opening animation of the new season is not good. See how the first OP matches with oath sign's speed.

^ Yeah, I thought the OP animation was a bit underwhelming...not much action to match such an upbeat song...:confu:

Setlist of today's in-store-event:
