lol my opinion is still the same, Manten sounds so sanhora in a sense.
I really can't make out if Hikaru or Keiko sings the first 'inochi ga' (think it's Hikaru?),hen I have no idea who sings the second echoing 'inochi ga' (Hikaru or Keiko or has Wakana come in by then and she just sounds unrecognisable because she's singing low?)
wow Liana!!!!I am getting the poster, tshirt and the Arrietty soundtrack as well.
I think I understand what you mean there. 'to the beginning' has this "opening theme tune" vibe, but I can't put my finger on what exactly makes it sound that way when 'Manten' doesn't...and yet both a good songs. I'm not sure how Yuki writes songs though...some composers set out to write 'A sides', 'B-sides' or 'album tracks' while others simply write a collection of songs and decide what to do with them afterwards. Given how prolific she is, I'd assume that 'Manten' was written specifically as a companion to 'to the beginning' but for all we know it could've been written ages ago and was waiting for the right time to be recorded and released. It's the kind of 'interview question' I'd like to ask!KP-X said:While I do think the b-side is way better than the a-side, I don't know, it doesn't feel like a "a-side song" (whatever that means) so it'd be strange to release Manten as the main song of the single. Same goes with lirica, for example.

This was actually discussed during their first Ustream live broadcast this month, which was WOTA Club. The Kala girls confirmed that Kajiura used "let the stars fall down" as the base and motif for "manten" (something which was very obvious already), and they also said quite a bit of other stuff about the song but curse my stupid memory, I can't remember much of what they were talking about. I really should have taken notes during their interview but I was having too much fun watching and listening to their discussions, I couldn't keep my eyes off the screen.Martin said:Given how prolific she is, I'd assume that 'Manten' was written specifically as a companion to 'to the beginning' but for all we know it could've been written ages ago and was waiting for the right time to be recorded and released.
