I'm getting annoyed with Caster's voice. The soundtrack to this episode was simply boring, but it's just the atmosphere.

IMo there were no new tracks on this one, on the contrary is was full of the knk-like ones that Yuki has composed for Fate/Zero. I enjoyed the building collapse and Irisveil's crazy driving :XD:

Cause whenever there's an action scene in which Kajiura could show off they play that damn BGM that they use in every episode. I like that BGM but FFS give me new action music when there's action in this show!

So, is the song in this CM stock music? I don't think it's showed up in the series.

Ok...can someone explain to me what's going on :XD:
So far from watching episode 1-6,
Kirei and Toki are friends, but why in episode 3 did Gilgamesh kill Assassin
and then now they are all acting as pals :confu:
And then for emiya, Irisviel and saber...
Irisviel is not the master right? but she is acting as a proxy between Saber and
Emiya cause of their bad relationship. Then who is this Maiya girl?
She is having an affair with Emiya :omg: I mean wtf
Well i hope someone can explain to me XD sry XD
:shy:

^I think that is pretty much it... but not sure. :shy:

Yeah, that was kind of a slow paced episode. No new music, and hardly any music at all. Just a lot of talking. Hoping the next one will be better.

+ oh then I agree with this.

talking and more talking :XD:
me can hardly listen to the music being played during the battle because the sound effects masked out the music

i wish they would make another battle scene like in KnK3 and KnK5
there's less talking and th battle theme's epic

Kirei and Tokiomi have been in cohorts since the beginning. They got Gilgamesh to kill one of the Assassins as a ruse to deceive the other Masters into thinking that Assassin has been defeated and Kirei is out of the war. Of course, even though this may be the case between Kirei and Tokiomi, circumstances will change and become a lot more complicated later on. Things do run deeper than what is seen on the surface, even when we're talking about the alliance between Kirei and Tokiomi.

Yes, Iris is not Saber's true Master. She merely acts as her provisional Master but this isn't just partly due to Saber and Kiritsugu having a bad relationship. Even though it's true that their principles clash, they're also operating separately as part of their strategy for the war. While Saber engages Servants in battles out in the open, Kiritsugu is responsible for hunting down and killing other Masters in the shadows.

I'll just be lazy and copy-paste what I commented on a blog regarding this. :XD:

With regards to the kiss scene in Episode 3
There was no romantic feelings involved in that exchange between Kiritsugu and Maiya at all. In the novels, it was somewhat conveyed in the narrations that the author was playing on the idea of exploiting a person’s, specifically a man’s instincts and reactions whenever he receives some sort of sexual gesture from another partner/woman (Maiya) other than the person he loves. In this particular scenario, Kiritsugu began suffering mentally and emotionally when he thought about Iris and Ilya, and the horrible things he has decided to do in the upcoming war. From a third person’s point of view, that could be seen as a form of weakness especially knowing he would be participating in a large scale war in which emotions would hinder a mercenary’s judgment and actions. Maiya, by kissing Kiritsugu, was simply using primal methods to psychologically anchor him and keep his mental state in check since he needs to be his cold-hearted, machine self if he wants to succeed in the war.
So to sum it up, the "affair" between Kiritsugu and Maiya isn't really in a romantic context but rather a purely sexual one. The history between them actually goes back 11 years, with Maiya being his student, soldier, and assistant in the killing fields. If you'd like to see the circumstances from a crueler perspective, you could say Kiritsugu is merely using Maiya as a psychological tool to balance his emotions and nothing more. Still...I guess it could be called an "affair" no matter how you look at it. :ohoho:

And about the music... I agree, it's becoming boring in the sense that they're recycling the tracks too much. I'm still loving the BGMs but I just wish they would stop spamming some of them. :uh..:

^ It's always one of the extremes, it seems. :ohoho: Either Aniplex series with often-recycled tracks, or something like Pandora Hearts where a masterpiece like Contractor plays once or twice in friggin' 25 episodes. :knife:
Bee Train used to deal with Yuki's music better, but then again, I personally found music direction in El Cazador a bit weird, and Tsubasa Chronicle 2nd seemed like it desperately tried to throw its magnificent OST out the window in terms of usage logic... :blood:

Though I don't think there's anything to worry about so far. We've had a good share of awesome tracks already, and it's six or seven more episode to come before the hiatus. And since it's common sense to end the season with some kind of semi-climax (rather than cut off the line until spring), I expect a lot of epicness to come. :stars:

I wouldn't really say they handled it better - they were different shows and usually had some actual insert song for action which was also used (annoyingly) repeatedly.

It's just that in Fate/zero they choose that damn ambient BGM (which, while I like, is just unexciting) whenever Kajiura actually could show off! I'm really liking (and agreeing with) the music direction during all the other parts - it's not interfering with dialogue and is very fitting; just use exciting music when it could actually make the action more exciting!

Like I don't really understand why they used this ambient BGM during Berserker's "berserk" (lol?) attack on Saber in the last episode either... Was it to make his loss of control surprising/intimidating? Screw that, I'd prefer some crazier music than the earlier Berserker vs Archer BGM there. Lulz.

And El Cazador had some of the worst music direction and editing I've ever heard in anime.

I agree. A lot of Yuki's best pieces were heard exactly in battle scenes. Of course, it's still a matter of whether a director wants to have a full-fledged piece, possibly with vocals, in every battle scene or not. Maybe it's a case of "let it be the music that amends the show, not vice versa" policy, and I can't claim it completely wrong (I read reviews of .hack//SIGN that complained about it becoming a long PV for its own OST, lol :ohoho: ). But on the other hand, inviting a composer of such skill and not letting her play all the aces is kind of a waste. :leaf: good God, am I quoting Ryounosuke in this last bit? :white: :XD:

But I'm bot sure what you mean concerning Berserk vs Archer theme. :confu: While I understand you wish for "madder" vocal arrangement, speaking of the track itself... "ambient" is the last description I could possibly come up with.

Btw, I've just watched the episode... Well, can't say there was a lot of action (apart from Emiya showing off his radical methods :omg: even if he was nice enough to ensure the evacuation beforehand), so the choice of music seems OK to me. Next ep is promising a couple of fights, then we'll see f the music director is really persistent in what Grunty complains about.

Oh, and while the hotel scene shocked me a bit, the best part of the episode is still Irisviel's driving. :XD: Damn, I love this character more by the episode... I wish I could stop imagining Urobuchi's shadow looming above her with a scythe... :TdT:

You misunderstood (or I wasn't clear enough) - the vocal Berserker vs Archer BGM was surefine. What I did not understand was the music choice for the next brawl (in the 2nd half of the episode) - Berserker attacking Saber! I'd prefer an even more crazy track play there since Berserker was out of control and they chose that darn ambient BGM.

Personally, in a sense I'm giving up on tv series' music direction as a whole. I thought that, since KnK is (IMHO) the series for which Kajiura composed in which her songs were best inserted with the scenes, that F/Z would have a similar treatment, but it seems I was wrong. In the end, KnK was just a little bit different than the rest because it was a series of movies, I believe.

I think too they're managing quite bad the music. THey trow too much new themes in a few episodes and now we're getting again and again the same songs.
From the lastest Yuki anime I think I really liked the madoka usage the best (not I haven't watched the last 5 knk movies yet)

But If madoka production was stopped for so long I wonder when Yuki has composed the ost. It may be even a 2008 one so 3 years to get when to use the ost can help a lot.

If there is another twitter event I shall ask about that if it is fitable :omg:

No, having sis puela magica! in every episode during dialogue heavy scenes was not good music direction. Also where did you get that "3 years production" tidbit?

I'm sure the actual production for the show did not last 3 years. It just does not happen @SHAFT.

@mochi: I think there was somewhere something about Urobuchi thinking about it since 3 years ago, but no the production of the anime didnt last 3 years lol they had started a bit before they announce it I guess.
