heh I will hopefully know tomorrow an estimated date at least. (If they even ship it tomorrow, who knows) But I will scan it in, or try to the best that I can when I do get it. :dote:

^ Thanks in advance! :sohappy:

EDIT

Just finished listening to the OST...in my opinion, Rule the Battlefield is the best proof that Kajiura-sensei can still write original music with the best of them. The entire thing is a departure: unconventional (for her) chord progressions; what sounds to me like a real brass section, for the first time ever; and no vocals at all in a relatively long and dramatic song. As much as I love Koichi-san in The Battle is to the Strong, and as much as I love Tokyo Konsei in Point Zero, Rule the Battlefield is the best song on the OST for me. I think it's going on my list of all-time favorites, too!

Also, the tracklist itself, with all the atmospheric pieces, reminds me a lot of the early songs in the KnK Collection - Thanatos, Something and Nothing, etc. Those songs were mostly FX, synth and percussion, and the truly epic pieces came later on, starting at Spiral or so. Apparently this OST must be arranged the same way :ayashii:

Well review time i guess :ohoho:
I personally think that Kajiura sama did splendid! Her musical motifs and themes shifted alot ( and in a good way) in comparison to Madoka and Pandora Hearts.
Personally i felt that Pandora Hearts and Madoka's soundtrack were somewhat similar ( but i still love them sooo much!)
But this time her music changed alot...to somewhat having a cinematic effect, which is makes her music much more visual. For example the starting of Point Zero, with the Choral voices as backup and the violin + the drums behind gives it like a zooming in effect. Moreover the chords that she used were very impressive, like using a chromatic notes in the interrupted cadences gives it the augmented touch to the entire tonality of the piece. Moreover, the usage of sequencing of the vocal works gives it a very alluring effect.
Finally the choir often go from 1st degree of the key to the 6-7th degree and then back again to the 1st degree of the key, and it keep repeating it like this, and then it later modulates to another key in the second half of the song. All this vigor and intensity is kept by the usage of sequencing and repetition! Amazing! Kajiura sama! the usual leap-step-step-leap-perfect cadence pattern in Sis Puella Magica, Everytime you kissed me and Akatsuki no Kuruma, etc etc.

YAY imma go listen to the rest!!! :shy:

Thank you for sharing the OST. I have yet to listen to it before I comment.

i watched the series only because of the music and i wasn't impressed at all, and i'm sticking to that impression after listening to the commercial release. That's all i have to say.

:omg: :omg: OHMIGOD This is late, but, thanks for the link!!!!

Will go listen later... :stars:

too much schoolwork these days :blood:

Hm, I was thinking today that since there are few tracks not included into the first OST (chariot theme, ep 11 battle theme, fast piano track, PV music full) that, If Yuki produces lots of new music for the second season there wont be enough space to pack all tracks in 1 CD, so I wonder if in the next box there will be 2 OST CDs or they will release some kind of OSt collection with OST 1 + 2 in 1 release.

Then again if Yuki just writes only a number of new tracks for the second season and the rest is covered by the OST 1 tracks and the ones that were released yet, I will be kinda sad because that means recycle.

What do you think? :ayashii:

Thanks for the links. Overall I like the ost, but I as usual want more vocal songs :uh..: My favs are Point zero, let the stars fall down, the battle is to the strong. But it seems to me that some tracks were not includes in the ost :confu:

It says that it is in stock on the right stuf website. and that I will be getting it whithin a few days. Hopefully that means by Saturday. heh we'll see if the email comes today. And I like this soundtrack a lot as well, obviously. I am not sure yet if some of her best works are in there, we will see once I get it.

^ What were your expectation then that made you disappointed with this?

since sfx and dialogues overshadowed the score i was hoping the physical release would change my perception about it, but nothing happened.

Well, I can't believe she/they include "rabble-rousers" and ignore other significant songs

Especially considering the total running time of 47 minutes for this CD. Shame.

I suspect that OST 1 features many (f not most of) transition BGMs recurring in the show. And especially since the show wasn't meant to be in two seasons, recycling them further is logical and expectable - like all the slower reprises of Point Zero in dramatic/sad moments and Strategy in every battle where Kirisugu decides to camp out on a nearby roof again. :XD: So I expect a good number of full-fledged themes to come with the OST 2. Remember how the third volume of Madoka OST contained only two true scene-shading BGMs (Cor Destructum and Cubilulum Album) because others had been released earlier. Pandora Hearts OST 2 also has this, if to a lesser extent. :ayashii:

@Grunty: is it really only 47 minutes? :uh..: I didn't notice. Now, it would be a shame for a stand-alone release... Which grants me another "meh" towards Sony's OST-bundling policy. :...:

I like the overall mood of the soundtrack, the flute in Assassin, the violins in let the stars fall down and Point Zero as a whole because it sounds so moody. But there are a few tracks that are kind of pointless, maybe if I watch the anime I'll appreciate them more...

i heard the drams CD and found some new tracks are included in the drama tracks....which means in OST Vol. II is going to Awesome ...and comes in around june or may :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :shy: :shy: :shy:
