I wonder why many people blame only choreography for the girls' flaws in singing. They still had them at the time when they didn't have to dance.

To those who think that singers can sing perfectly only when they stand still on the stage - the russian singer I've mentioned before always makes a kind of performance when she sings certain songs. She isn't a classically singer either.

Well, what bothers me the most in their coreography is that they seem far from natural (but they don't seem professional either; they struggle to much to give a specific impression but end up just being ridiculous). Hence, it seems like they don't feel what they are actually singing. I can't take them seriously that way; that's not even being amateur, it goes beyond that.

As for singing while dancing, I agree with both sides. Although, like Alphie said, training is also an important factor.
My reason why I don't like their choreography is exactly the same as KP-X..!!! Honestly, I don't like the choreography becuse it often seems ridiculous, but I didn't say I want them to just standstill.

Moving&interacting with the audiences is a very useful skill for live performer. I say its USEFUL because it may be not NECESSARY, but it can make your live perf better. Many successful singers may be not great as a live singer but they have their own talent to draw attention from the audiences by their moving and expression which isn't about the planned choreography at all.

As for its effect on their singing, I think that it isn't the main reason. Some songs in this live sound unacceptable for me because Wakana and Hikaru sounds so weary. And it is caused by the amount of songs that they had continuously sung. Their move and dance is just an additional factor that made them more tired.

Ex. Wakana's case: I felt that she sounded tired for the first time in Adore, sung after Storia, Neverending, Kotonoha, Kagayaku, Red Moon...not much dancing or moving in these songs..just slow walking&hand moving didn't make her that tired... but just think of how much she's sung...

The solution for this problem is giving them longer&more frequent breaks or they should do more exercise to be able to perform longer.. I think that try to make a proper songlists that no one has a lead role in many consecutive songs would be useful..but I think it's too difficult to arrange the song lists in that way coz it's realated to many factors. (Need to think of the flow of the feelings in the songs..etc)

Well...coz it keeps happening on Wakana in both Kalafina&YK lives..I'd like them to go for the 2nd choice...

^...could they give them more MCs? :confu: I don't know if it helps them recover strength from singing, but I wouldn't mind one or two more MCs in between...
Or maybe they could have more costume changes... :ayashii: ...and maybe do like that concert where the band performed Numquam vinctar whilst the girls changed and took a break... :ayashii:

And omg, you're right... :omg:

1.overture ~Eden
2.In your eyes
MC 1

3.storia
4.Neverending
5.Kotonoha
6.Kagayaku Sora no Shijima ni wa
7.Red Moon
8.Adore
MC 2

9.Kugatsu
10.Sandpiper

First 10 consecutive songs all have Wakana either on main or sharing main with Hikaru...that's quite a lot for her to sing! :omg:

I love Eden , Red Moon and Neverending live..I just love the arrangement in live and the feeling that I get from listening to it..I just wished the cello was real.

I just watched "adore" and, my god, Wakana's high notes were really ugly.

Wait til her Ongaku kajiurago. She's really straining herself in this live. :)

+1!!! And Destination Unknown for me is really epic :sohappy:

LoL, what i mean about stand still like in the yuki live is not like they dont do anything at all :XD:

i mean they just stand in their spot in their formation like in YK live, but still free to move with their own will. But in YK live ofc they dont running, dancing , and jumping around like i talked earlier. :XD:

And i never mentioned anything about fail or flaws. Those are not excuses :XD:

:dote:

I am loving sandpiper even more now because of the live version, although I still don't like that beginning as much as the live. neverending was really nice too. :dote:

I'm almost sure they actually cut out one or two MCs from the performance. I read a review of the live where the person mentioned at least one MC where Kala talked about Kalafina Club, and I didn't see anything remotely like that on the DVD, so they definitely must've cut that out. I do remember seeing a fadeout at one point, though I'm not sure where... :confu:

I just listened to it. She ran out of air AGAIN, and the high note was terrible.

:omg: I don't even know what to think anymore! So many completely different opinions... :@_@:

Was this Ongaku better or worse than the Red Moon version? :touched: (and when you say terrible, how terrible do you mean? :omg:

LoL, Cerise :XD:

u should listen to it by yourself and decide ur own opinion :XD:

dont be influenced by other ppl opinion :sparkleguy:

good or bad is something relative. DIfferent ppl have different standard for good or bad :XD:

:plot:

I really like the performance of "symphonia" !

I really enjoyed Wakana's first "kanadete iru~~~~~"
and the ending

@Cerise
Seriously form your own opinions first before even referencing others. :sparkleguy: Your own personal opinion has far more value than what anyone else has to say.

So far I enjoy it. But has anyone else noticed a fading in and out of sound? Sometimes its low and gets higher for some reason...maybe its my ps3 or TV..but it shouldn't be :blood:

I was only talking about Wakana's kajiurago, i didn't listen to the rest of the song. =p

@Cerise: I agree with Zoa and salvanos - listen to everything and form your own opinions about it! I won't tell you too much of what I think, but I will say that I found basically all the songs to be very good. And not just because of the good editing, either :plot:

So basically for me, in overall :

Wakana : She did sound like she strain herself too much in this live. It's obvious, because in After Eden songs Kajiura gave a super high notes with her as lead vocal, and in this live they perform most ballad in one row, which mostly have Wakana as main vocal. I really wish that Kajiura will make song that a bit lower for Wakana, because it might affect her overall singing voice.

Hikaru : In contrary to Wakana, Kajiura now gave song with lower notes to Hikaru, that affect her higher voice. Like in Eden live on rooftop, she obviouly fail to hit the higher notes. So, as expected, she must scream and use her overly nasal voice in some higher notes, and it's not ear-pleasant at all.

Keiko : What I adore about Keiko is her stamina. Most people will say "it because she sing the harmony and it's lower." This is not an excuse at all, because if her vocal range is only that high, it must take an equal power for her to sing. And in AE songs, she got the most line, like in example after so much Hikaru in Magia, she get a rest in Magnolia. And after she strained herself in magnolia, Wakana get a rest in Destination Unknown. But Keiko sings the harmony throughout the songs, and it's great. Although in this live I don't really like her voice in some songs, sometimes it's too deep, and sometimes it's too cute.

As for the girls singing ability, I think it's kinda improper for me to say that they are fail/mediocre in live, because I can't even sing like them, and Kajiura's song is difficult to sing. And I never attend their live directly, because if I read some people blogpost about their lives, I never found someone that say they are fail in this live, or unacceptable. It isn't studio perfect, but it's still better than most nowadays pop singers. Even so, I do agree that the girls should exercise more, not only vocal(although vocal comes first), but maybe body exercise like what Keiko done so they can maintain their stamina. Choreography and body movement still affect their singing for me (like in D.U), so they should get rid of it, because the choreography isn't even that good, and mostly ridiculous.

Overall, I prefer Red Moon live. The setlist is balanced, and none of them get too tired after singing some songs, but in this live, all the girls really strained themselves, mostly Wakana.

And I have a complain partly to Kajiura, for making songs that aren't really suitable for the girls singing range and really hard for them to sing in live. Now I know why in their live tour, they mostly not perform Destination Unknown, magnolia, and sandpiper in one live.

yeah sorry everyone ...I think I'm just on edge and I can't help but be influenced by what other people say (I'm weak :touched:) cos when people say their lives are bad, I automatically start picking out all the bad things when I watch the videos...or when people say it's good I watch/listen carefully for all the good things and shrug off the mistakes they make etc. :desksweat:

/sighs

I'm just gonna not say anything until I watch my bluray...(it's so tempting to just watch it on youtube! Everyday I find myself inevitably hovering my mouse over the link...before quickly closing the window :blood:

@ritardando: Basically I agree with you, although I'm not as irritated by Hikaru's louder voice as you are. I do have to say, though, that I don't really find D.U. a difficult song to sing myself, which is pretty rare (most Kala songs are way too hard for me)...then again, I don't even try to sing Wakana's part, which is extremely high at about E, and I don't do choreography while singing :XD:
