YAY~! The rest have been uploaded as well. I am sooooo buying this DVD for sure now!! *places order* :dote:

Wakana-chan sure does sound tired in some videos but I guess it's understandable since she sings in higher octaves. I just hope she doesn't overexert herself and puts a prevalent stress on her voice. :uh..:

Edit: Aww, I want to be in the Kalafina cafe~~ :nosebleed: :shy:

Hmmmm..................interesting concert......from a certain perspective. :plot:

Finish the remaining ones....

Mune no Yukue - I enjoy Keiko's&Hikaru's powerful verses.... but the hook sounds so messy....even worse than the last hook of D.U.....the only good part in the hook may be their last notes at the end of the hook... the bridge is ok.... and KoichiSan's solo is yummy....huhh.... since the worst part is sth. that should be the highlight of the song.... This one may be my least favourite....=_______=...

Oblivious - It can't be the ear-catching Oblivious without KonnoSan's violin intro...>_____<. Hikaru's beginning always sounds too sharp for me....TwT.....sorry.... I think this time Wakana's voice in the intro sounds like falsetto for me...which I think that it's good if Hikaru would take that part in the remaining like many previous perfs (Sometimes I feel that it sounds weird when Wakana did that part with her usual voice and Hikaru sang it by falsetto which sounds so much different even it's the same part of the song.) I'll count it as one of an acceptable Oblivious perf...^ ^.

Snow Falling - for me, it's rearranged in a....weird way... :uh..: it sounds like they want to show off the powerful singing of each girl..I think the slower part isn't just slower, but the space between each separated part are longer (allowing Wakana to hold longer note than in the original...) and for me, it ruined the flow of the song...(It sounds discontinuous....- -") the beginning part and also Hikaru's 'Fallin' Snow' sounds awkward for music aspect.... I think their singing is good, but I'd like to see the better 'timing' for the song. (so my problem here is about the arrangement only..not the girls' singing.)

Symphonia - Keiko did the beautiful&powerful opening. Wakana's chorus sounds really good and also her solo line.... it's a grand and powerful performance as the song should be...(the biggest problem maybe because I didn't fond for this song..lol.) and I hear pre-recorded chorus...when Hikaru&Keiko sang their own lines and Wakana didn't hold the mic...but I don't mind..they also had so many pre-recorded instrumental sounds.... It may be the reason why it sounds better than in animax live (where I feel like the instrumental part is lack of sth...)

My Favourite
1. Destination Unknown
2. Adore
3. Ongaku, Red Moon
4. Magia, Kagayaku
5. Neverending

My LEAST favourite
1. Love Come Down
2. Mune no Yukue
3. In your eyes
4. Fantasia (To think that it's one of my fav. song from the second album...Orz..)
5. Snow Falling

That's all.... Besides, in their Eden perf in the documentary part, I feel like Keiko's chorus sounds so weird.... anyone feels like me..? :confu:

:omg: the rest has been uploaded?? Why is fate trying to tempt meee?? :wai: :TdT:

I. Will. Resist. :glower:

But I'm glad (and excited) that adore apparently turned out good :dote:

I don't know why in the final chorus Wakana seems to sing "yume wo katarisugite..." with Keiko while I cannot hear her voice there..

Her voice is audible, but it's just mixed behind Keiko's. If you listen on headphones, it's slightly easier to hear.

Well... here are some general comments from yours truly.

:idol:

Wakana is straining herself a lot. Keiko seems to be screaming a lot more than I remembered from other lives. Hikaru sometimes doesn't sound like herself.

:confu:

Songs I enjoyed more than I thought I would:
1. Kagayaku, I really liked this performance.
2. adore, yep. Guitar was delicious as well.
3. Eden, I liked it more than I remembered from CD but it's still way too long.
4. neverending, I think I liked it on CD but it seems to have grown on me more and I think it's nice it's not overlong like most of the other songs.

As for the others my opinion on them hasn't changed. I think we need some new arrangements for old tracks starting next live.

:ohoho:

Choreography in sandpiper, Magia, magnolia made me facepalm. They should cut those instrumental sections out completely if that's what the girls are supposed to be doing there.

:blood:

The editing and visuals are nicer for this DVD than Red Moon's, definitely. :goodjob:

I have to disagree. I've noticed several shots which went from static to zooms/pans almost immediately after scene cuts - it looks very amateurish.

What I think they have done better on this live is positioning the girls and framing shots - often on close ups for one girl you can see someone else in the distance. Having a catwalk also helps.

:sohappy:

Eden live in the bonus documentary was fail as expected.

^ Haha, someone told me the same thing yesterday. I stand corrected.

Eden live in the bonus documentary was fail as expected.

I'm planning to cite that performance as an example of how they're not as big a fail live as is generally thought :psst:

Then again, I do tend to believe that, as a blogger has said, "people who expect studio perfect in a live are a bit loopy"...so you can think of me as loopy too if you like.

Mine came today! Yipee! I love the mousepad so much, glad it is bigger. heh Overall I really loved this Live, I think it’s the best one yet. Although I was sad too that there was no serenato, utsukushisa, seventh heaven, or lilica. (lilica would be the best live in my opinion.) But here is my review:

Eden: So beautiful. I wasn’t really a big fan of the song at first, and still don’t listen to it often unless I am in the mood. Heh But the live version was fantastic.

in your eyes: Hikaru was a bit loud during this song, but she is in the original as well, so I think she did a pretty good job. I actually liked the energy of it and you can tell they are having fun.

storia: I liked this version much more than the one on red moon live, it was much more beautiful.

Neverending: almost made me cry. So moving, really a great song live.

Kotonoha: at first I was a little wary of the song being performed, but I actually loved it. I love the original, and while it seemed like it was missing something, I think the keyboardist did a good job. I wish for more songs like this in the future.

Kagayaku: the intro to this song was cool, like ninetales said. It was a nice transition, and I love this version the most. I think maybe better than the original. Hikaru actually did not seem too loud in it this time, which made it more beautiful. (What was she wearing though? Lol It looked almost like a nightgown robe thing… but I actually liked it when she took down the hood and placed the candle lightly on the stand.)

Red moon: hmm, I am not sure if I like it more than the other live, but I did like the chanting towards the end.
Adore: started out a little weak, but ended up to be great! (I hope they perform this when I go to see them again, whenever that will be) You could tell they were getting a little tired, but not too bad.

Kugatsu: This was lovely as well. I am probably one of the few who liked this song from the new album, but I thought it was really well done live. Wakana put a lot of emotion into her lines.

Sandpiper: probably one of my favorites from the dvd. The beginning of the song I never really liked, but I did in this. And I loved how Konno made the violin sound more like an Irish sounding song, which is different from the cd version I think.

Magia-Sounded better than the red moon version and others, but I did not like the lighting and jumping around of the camera. Hikaru sounded a bit weak during it, but I think she was trying to sound more aggressive, which the song already is. (I think it was during this one where the girls were coming down the stairs and Koichi did a little head bang, that was funny. Lol)

Magnolia: really liked this one. Again the camera and lights were a bit off-putting, but overall I think they did great. Especially Wakana who had the hard flats and melodies. Keiko’s part was excellent. Still one of my favorite new songs and favorites all together of Kalafina. (I also liked the cool dance towards the end.)

Destination unknown: I didn’t really like this song at first, but then it grew on me. And it was the same with the live. It started out kind of hard to hear, but that could have been because of the device I was playing it on, but then I got more into it. I loved Wakana’s part. (I think it was this one where Hikaru brought her hand up and she looked kind of evil. Heh But I liked it.)

Love come down: I love this song a lot but did not think this was their best live version, at parts it sounded like they were failing to reach some of the notes. It was okay though.

Fantasia and Kyrie: I liked both of them as well. I’m glad they kept fantasia’s guitar solo pretty much the same as the original, since it is one of my favorite solos. But here again the lights and camera were annoying. Especially in fantasia’s beginning. But their performance at least was great.
Ongaku: now this was fun. Since I know that Keiko said in an interview that this was one of her favorites to sing, you can really tell while she sings it. They all did really well and I love how they introduced Koichi and Konno.

Mune no Yukue: I never really liked the beginning of the song, and didn’t like that Keiko was actually loud. If she sang it a little softer it would be all right. I love Hikaru’s part in the song though, and the chorus is nice.
Oblivious: It was nice, but I still like the original best. (I know it can’t be exact.) the beginning was interesting with more violin.

Snow falling: I actually liked it live. I loved Hikaru’s long “falling snow” and the lights behind her when she sang were so pretty. Then snow actually fell, it was so pretty.

Symphonia: also really beautiful. I loved the full version of the song and I think this went really well. Wakana had a piece of snow on her shoulder the whole time lol. Also a favorite from the dvd. (I never really liked the dresses from the video all that much, but I love Hikaru’s gloves.)

The thing I noticed sometimes was Keiko was actually the one yelling sometimes, like during Mune no Yukue. Her harmonies sometimes seemed a bit off too, although that could be the sound issue again. But I think she did okay otherwise. All three of them were great, I can’t believe the amount of power in their voices, as I have said before. I think I would be as sweaty (trying to not be gross) as Wakana, but being on stage with those lights too doesn’t help. I loved this live better than red moon, but I do agree about some of the editing. I have yet to watch the documentary, but I will later tonight. That is all for now. (Sorry if it was long.)

^ Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Liana~

I'm curious now as to why everyone's saying that Keiko is the one actually doing all the yelling... :ayashii: ...is it because the After Eden songs are in a higher part of her range?

Aaahhhh hope mine arrives soon :wai: :wai:

^ Basically Keiko's pushing her voice to sound deeper and more powerful. I'm not sure why it's considered yelling, but that's probably because I really like the way she sounds when she does it :XD:

Mine arrived today, but I still can't watch it because I don't have a Bluray player in my house lol

@cerise: Yeah, I agree with ninetales and I think she has the mic too close. heh In mune no yukue it's loud in the original already, so maybe she wanted to do the same? I still love her voice though. :dote:

So they don't use the English pronunciation for "Eden", neither for the song, nor for the album title, even though that one has "after" in it ... will need to get used to this.

^Yeah, that may feel at bit weird at first, but you`ll get used to it. :XD:

Watched the very short documentary thing. Those people were so lucky to be interviewed by them at the cafe! I want to be there when they are there. (Or just to be at the cafe itself would be awesome.) I understood a little when Hikaru was talking to the cashier about the menu. heh Kalafina burger. Want! :dote: The different stores were neat too, having their own set up for them. Hopefully someone will translate this if they haven't already. And about Eden on the rooftop, it was on a rooftop so maybe they couldn't get very good sound up there. I thought Wakana still did a good job. What was Hikaru saying as they were going back inside?

yeah, me too. Although I still don't really like her "subete" in Destination Unknown...

Hikaru is totally fail on Eden live on the rooftop. She sometimes get into Keiko's harmonizing notes..well, she often do that too when she is singing acapella version of storia

Lol what? I've heard at least 2 singers who are live as perfect as studio. One of them is Mari Boine Persen. The other one is a russian singer. Of course, they are not very well known and they don't do things like Kalafina kafe and don't have photosessions for fashion magazines. They just sing and compose.
