Yuki's songs' analysis

I remember reading an interview with Yuki in one of her CD inserts where she says she always has to research her words so they don't mean weird things in other languages XD
 
aha, so she does not attach certain meanings to them?
That's precisely what i'm curious about. is Kajiuran closer to a real language [with lexicon and grammar], can it be translated? Or is it a kind of score for vocal as an instrument?
 
I guess it's just for the fun of it. I think she lets us imagine what those lyrics would say. ^^ And it's fun. For example, take the song "Madlax".

i could make it mean:

Want to find the wings of freedom
Want to fly towards you
again
I'm going to find eternal love
Want to never let you go

The meaning you putted to the words doesnt fit with the situation and has nothing to do with the character Madlax

my version

I am fighting against evil eternally (because in greek, enadia = against)
I am fighting for my father
always
for my memories against the corrupted oned
I am fighting for my memories again and again

For me it does sound like a language with grammar and meaning
I forge a language myself, so I think Yuki does nothing different as me and I always try to fit it right with a unique grammar.

try to figure out what this means XDDDD

it would be helpful to know what yuki was told when she was writing the songs themselves. she doesnt get to see the full anime but she does get instruction of some sort. does anyone know what context this song was played in? I havetn watched .hack
 
Well, i saw somewhere that she said that it's really hard sometimes to compose music for the animes because he producers only give sketches of what will be the anime so she has to imagine most of it. But i think they do give instructions. They always do.
 
Temporarily summing up the Kajiuran part, I can't help saying I'm positively shocked! If these words have meaning, that DOES put Yuki in one league with Mr Tolkien! :D

"to nowhere" mostly covers the dialogues between Tsukasa and Subaru. I suppose it is meant to express Tsukasa's state of loneliness (like "a stray child"), but with the smart difference that he isn't really alone now. He's got another lonely soul by his side, to hold on to and to go ahead together.
Btw, did you notice that in her english lyrics, Yuki often uses the contrast of Light and Darkness? Darkness is often where the characters start out and Light is the destination, the target of the search. (and to think how it matches the mood of Mashimo's directorship! XD)
 
Yes, you have a point! She uses frequently that contrast.
Another thing she expresses very much is the wish for wings and to fly above all the ..hmm darkness and chaos. ^^ (See Yume no tsubasa, tsubasa, wings of our imagination, lost wings etc... but some of these are made to match Tsubasa Chronicle's theme.

Yea, she is really cool. Repetitive, but none the less romantic and sweet!
 
The contrast between Darkness and Light isnt characteristic only of Yuki it is widely used in every nice song and in many many anime (thats because japanese believe in Tao with yin and yang that came from china and generally I have heard that the belief of the human kind that light and day symbolise the Good and the darkness and nigh the Evil comes from a function characterist of brain which makes us be afraid of darkness)
Also I have noticed that Japanese people believe SO MUCH in fate -so does Yuki- that as I have seen there is no anime or song that doesnt refering to fate. I just dont pay attention to that (because i have the opposide opinion) and i still watching anime and listening to songs

Well, I agree with Ayashii, she uses (in the english lyrics) the same words for several songs, thats a pretty Yuki's feature.

Hm...

Yuki always use "open vowels" (A, E, I) for the high tones of the songs... generaly the open vowels (in music) are used for express strength and passion, but in some Yuki's songs are used for sad parts...

Hm...

Well... I can do a lot more of references about Yuki's Songs but... my lexicon is not so wide...

Maybe I can do it in Spanish XD
