Yuki Kajiura to compose for "Boku dake ga inai machi" TV Anime

Maybe I wasn't clear enough - I agreed this is more "original" than her recent Kalafina stuff (even if I imagined Kalafina singing it with Kajiuras arrangement).

^ Yes its original, but its very different from the usual style (i personally dont like it atm), its event more extreme than say stone cold, I think this is more due to the arrangement than the melody . If the arrangement was done by her, you would say again that its recycled XD

We will find that out on the next FictionJunction album when she does a selfcover, lol.

Listening again ,it seems there's a violin in there, but its also processed like the voice

also drums and e.guitar.

Not really a fan. I'm a little worried for this project. Nothing I've hard so far has been encouraging.

Well it was just 2 short cms, u cant judge a project by so little. Im not worried at all, she hasnt been openly fan of a project since madoka magica, and the fact that she offered to write the ED means she really likes the series regardless of the result.

I know we haven't heard alot; but if the sample is any indication of the direction she's going with this ost, then I'm not expecting anything new. I mean, with HtA, the first samples of music showed a huge departure from her usual style. The little bit from the boku dake's CM was basically what we've been getting since KnK.

^ what else could she make for a CM of something that has half gender tags same as Knk, and considering they wanted to pass the same impressions: dark, mysterious, murders (even the clothes of the girl in red are similar to Shiki's)

May I ask for a link to the first samples? Curious which parts of the OST they showcased.

I for one liked the PV music (seems edited at least at violin's entrance to fit the 30 seconds). Sure it's nothing original but the intimate sound that I personally like from Kajiura is there. The less orchestra & the more electronica, the better for me.

^ Yes, they arent different from the general usual style, just different from the recent-years style that's more sad and sfx-based. Track 11 has similarities in style with tracks from tsubasa and satoyama, while track 15 with tracks from mai otome, knk 6 (the happy ones), and the rebellion movie intro bgm.

The reason I use HtA, is the fact that the ost was really surprising. When I first found out she was scoring HtA, I was expecting something long the lines of velveteen rabbit/15 year soldier/achilles and the tortoise. While we still got some tracks like that, the score was still very fresh compared to her recent stuff; and the tv cm reflected that imo.

The music in boku's cm isn't bad, it just sounds like more of what she's been doing these last few years.

But it is just one CM. And a very short one at that. I for one am excited and hopeful for this since she seems to like it more than SAO, even though they have the same director. I am glad she arranged the ending theme at least too. I for one liked Haruna's collab with her so seeing another new artist is good. (I am hoping for Aika Yoshioka or Yoko Ishida would be nice too. But probably not for this anime.)

The melody for the song in the CM is boring as shite, the girl's voice isn't that great either, but the strings sound decent at least.

What are you refering to, the violin has the same melody as the vocal, and its processed in the same way the voice is.

btw check samples of her previous single here she isnt any great singer but might sound good in circumstances (like in track 2), refrain of track 1 is :notlistening:, so i guess she sucks at singing high notes.

Not hyped about this new song.. This chick sounds like a wailing baby when she hits her high notes. I'm glad Kalafina didn't do the song. As @magicmagiamahou mentioned... Melody is dull.

PS @george1234 : the violin isn't playing the melody lines. It's similar, but not identical. It is still playing an accompaniment role.

I agree that she doesn't sound great in Mikazuki either, but this song which she composed herself sounds better, I think.

My friend who discovered her before she debuted is a bit disappointed that she couldn't get the opportunity to compose the song herself, but then she's a newcomer in the industry so I guess it can't be helped...
