Everything

I think that's fair enough! As someone who studied sound engineering, I've effectively been programmed to criticize music. I was required to analyse and discuss a performance in depth and now it's just second nature. I am aware of this and, if I am being really critical, try to balance it with good points - It IS a discussion forum, after all! Hopefully, I haven't annoyed anyone in the past, but if so, I apologize! And please let me know if I go overboard sometime in the future!

It's bound to happen from time to time! :psst:

...cause issues or enjoy trolling peace out of this forum.

If anyone has nothing inspiring or motivating to say please keep those disagreeing/trolling thoughts to yourself while this place is still at peace.

Put on the brakes and let's put this into perspective. This isn't a big issue, there is no "peace" being broken. It's just a bit of a clashing/disagreement, which is bound to happen when so many different people are present in one space. No one is even attempting to troll. : )

I'm just awkward around trying to restrict discussions in any way, shape or form. People should be able to point out that they don't like things if they don't like them without other people getting offended or upset. If you're secure enough in your own opinion, why does it matter if other people think differently?

If you don't like a discussion, just don't take part in it. Don't complain that it's there because there are some members, like Mwhlr illustrates, who do enjoy taking apart music and analysing/discussing it.

Yet, but it was indirectly put into topic about the freedom of expressing opinions :) . I wouldn't mind if they are just opinions but some people likes to prove others wrong for the sake of their own entertainment just because they think of themselves too highly especially to a point where they would think "I am a musician I should know better you guys listen to me or you have ear cancers, not pointing at you Mwhir", people here just listen to musics by feelings they don't theorized.
Anyway lets put this case to rest. Just say out what you think but I don't think many here would like a lecture if they think otherwise.

i hope someone will post sayonara solitaire and kaze no machi he including stone cold live heheh :dote: and many more hehehe :uh..:

Well, this is a discussion forum, and not an adoration shrine, so the point of posting our impressions on whatever here is to say what we like or not about it, be it "trivial" notes by "regular" listeners or deeper opinions from people who are more familiar with music (like musicians, engineers, etc.). If someone can't stand different opinions or critics, they should probably be better writing a blog or something like that. As long as anyone don't try to play the "owner of the only truth", like Equal said, guess it all should be fine.

Well, I enjoyed the concert very much, of course! I finally could see what FJ is like when really raw, with no post-production. Funny that everyone that posted an opinion about each of the girls seemed to have different thoughts on how they performed XD I could say they all sounded good, having only the "expected trouble" to sing. Wakana failed a little after Yuriko's solo in PH, but it was only then and I didn't caught that happening again. Keiko actually scared me a bit when she started singing after the violin solo in Kaze no Machi e, cause she came back loud XD And she also wasn't so powerful as I think she is in her harmonies...wonder if it was the live mixing, the recorded stuff's mixing, or just me XD Yuriko seemed to have a bit of difficult in some line of Himitsu, iirc. But then she went fine. Didn't spot any weakness or off-key by Kaori, but she was very "audible". I didn't spot her going too loud, like screaming, but she was very audible. Even her looow background in synchronicity felt more audible than that of Everlasting Songs live.

Singers apart, I don't know if it's really a fault of Ohira and his mixing or rather my equipment, but I didn't like the overall mixing throughout the concert, and in some moments it went really bad imo, like in Sayonara Solitaire, where the instruments seemed to get louder and overpower the singers. Also, I would bet 50 bucks any day that Keiko would overpower Kajiura when singing low, but that wasn't what I heard when they were singing stone cold's background! Did anyone feel the same or is it jsut me and my more than lame ears? :XD:

I really liked to see the previously unseen performances. I always wanted to see Kaze no Machi e live, because Keiko sounds awkward ot me in the recording in the sense that it looks like she didn't know how to use her deep voice yet at that time. Himitsu was nice, as well as Hikari no Yukue, which featured a lot of Kajiurago in the end to cover all those "last chords" XD When Sayonara Solitaire started, I almost had a heart attack. But then there were the said mixing issue, and Keiko sang the verses in a way that didn't really please me, don't know exactly why. Kaori sang the second part and I liked it better. Also wonder why Wakana didn't take part, too. She would enrich Yuriko's chorus. But I also felt that the spaces between chorus/bridge and verses were shortened by Kajiura :confu: Speaking of which, there were some songs that didn't feature long intros, like Hanamori no Oka and here we stand in the morning dew. Wonder if Kajiura really needed to save time that bad :XD:

And for those who said the concert was chort, remeber that there are more two days to come, and not to mention that the Front Band had Music Energy the day before. They're not made of iron ;D And sorry about this ranting, it probably wasn't really an useful reading :XD:

^
Stone cold :sohappy:

awesome :TdT:

i think i want more bass from the instrumental :XD:

and i think i heard some echo noise to the sound :XD:

Gonna have to throw my lot in with the people who say it's disappointing.

I don't think it was your equipment, although I mostly heard the exact opposite - For me, the backing band were too quiet for a long of the songs.

Kaori's music energy section that just got posted sounds MUCH better. The balance is really good almost all the way through.

wow thanks for fast tempo beat of stone cold it was awesome :dote: :sohappy: thanks again wakana looks of beat here . and this version is so fast than the original one (recorded one) thanks :blood:

^Hm, I didn't explained well XD I actually got the same impression as you - the band sounding low. The situation just sudenly got otherwise in Sayonara Solitaire and soe other one or two songs, don't remember which.

I'm still watching it, the live is AWESOME. Seriously, loving it <3 I regret nothing! I'm glad I could buy it!

The video takes some time to load here, so I'm watching and stopping, watching and stopping. Now I just have to watch Distance and Eternal Blue. Later I shall write a full report of it since I'm so excited :ohoho:

bythe way i like kaori's outfit rock and roll
:nosebleed:

I wouldn't mind Ustream doing this for future Kajiura Lives, at least it's something if FJ release no more DVDs :uh..:

Anyway off to watch this 2 hour concert with popcorn and the lights off :plot:
