^ What? You mean since 2009. its not 1 YK live per year anymore

darn, I managed to type the volume number instead of the year's last digit :desksweat: :XD:

/me wants to read grunty's opinions about the live

IIRC he said he had a blog :ayashii:
@Grunty: good to see you drop by, if occasionally :V:

sorry for the off topic

IIRC he said he had a blog
I did visit his blog but I only see a white background with text which does not involve the live :ohoho:

Well this live stream is one good opportunity to post again since we now have a real sample of their skills. Not just me hating without proof as others would say.

Yuriko was almost amazing. IMHO she has some of the more ridiculous tasks in the group jumping all over her scale and she definitely pulls it off beautifully. Matching the rest in volume is not her concern since there are mics involved - her task here is to be on point and for the most part she actually is. When she messes up she seems to be instantly trying to fix it. I was very impressed and would go to her concerts. I didn't enjoy "here we stand in the morning dew" (very flat) but I never did on CD either.

Keiko was great when she wasn't jumping around and the note changes weren't too fast. When she starts jumping and interacting with the others/audience she just doesn't hit the right notes. I think she's more concerned about having fun than actual singing. Having said that Kaze no machi he was pretty much playback material, lol.

Kaori seemed the most natural (aka untrained) to me. Hit and miss. She goes totally off when she gets too into it (if there is such a thing) or starts pushing/screaming.

Wakana was for the most part horrible. I don't care if she's sick or what - it's her problem, not mine. As expected.

I personally don't think Kajiura's parts were actually live on stone cold, lol.

tldr:
The concert was listenable (at times enjoyable even) whenever Wakana wasn't around.

:omg: grunty!

thank you for granting my request  Interesting read. I have to agree with most of your comments except for kaori's. I actually think she did quite well in general.

Will you be back for good? :ayashii:

Guys i dont want to blame Wakana for being off pitch, and i consulted my friend who majors in Opera, and let her listen to Wakana's performances over the years and she came to a possible conclusion... Vocal Nodules

Its not possible for someone to "lose their pitching sense" all of a sudden and Wakana's been off pitch for A LONG TIME, and using the Flu excuse is kinda outdated...so the only conclusion that it could be Vocal Nodules

Symptoms of Vocal Nodules:

Hoarseness
Vocal fatigue
Unreliable voice
Delayed voice initiation
Low, gravelly voice
Low pitch
Voice breaks in first
passages of sentences
Airy or breathy voice
Inability to sing in high, soft voice
"Hiss" sound
Increased effort to speak or sing
Frequent throat clearing
Extra force needed for loud voice
Voice "hard to find"
Shooting pain from ear to ear

There we go...i hope what me and my friend hypothesize isn't true...well if it is its true, I hope Wakana goes for a check up...

^ get her to a hospital right now(whoever can) I dont want her to lose her beautiful voice

...I think we should move the Wakana voice discussion to the Vocal Discussion thread lol...we don't want to block up this thread with everything... :ohoho:

EDIT: it's on the vocal discussion thread now, if people want to discuss Wakana issues more...

Good to see you grunty :P
I haven't watched the video yet but I can't just let this happen, so here:

1. please let people have their opinions, even if they may be negative. A forum is a place for discussion so everyone has to learn to expect that not everyone will like everything, and people have the right to express their critiques without being labelled or condemned.

2. Personal attacks are not allowed; hostility towards other members or groups on this forum is a big no-no, including passive aggressive attacks.

3. If someone appears to make a post for the sole purpose of upsetting you, inform a mod and please try resist the urge to fight back even if you know that they broke the rules first, as that would only escalate the fight and provoke more fire from both sides.

Everyone knows there are limitations to the abilities of a forum to "make someone go away forever", so please, instead of relying on silly computers, just don't let the problem even start ^^; it will save everyone lots of headache.

personally, I really liked the concert, I found, however, Yuriko not in the best shape (in "Here we stand the morning dew" her vibrato was strange), but all the rest was wonderful!! :dote: :dote:

I agree for the most part with Grunty, except on Keiko's parts. There were some that were really awkward to me, like she was trying to yell through them, and it was pretty jarring. I dunno if those are the times you're referring to when you say she's not hitting as accurately.

Then again, it didn't ruin anything for me. I like seeing her get into it so I enjoyed it regardless of vocal imperfection.

anyone can do the mp3 rip of the live?? I got so confused with the tracklist

Some users are starting to post songs from the concert on youtube eg stone cold and distance. You can makes rips out of those.

I thought the girls and the band did a pretty good job especially on the new songs :sparkleguy:

Hikari no Yukue was definately my favourite especially with the new kajiuran at the end so epic :shy: I really enjoyed the MC's even though I had NO idea what they were saying

So I guess they've done DAY 2 now ne?

@grunty: wait isn't today's supposed to be without vocals at all (Soundtrack Special) ? Does this mean Eri was alone with Yuki and the musicians ? :XD:

btw: welcome back :)

I'm only here for a moment.

I haven't seen the whole concert, so I don't have much to say, but I did see stone cold and Sayonara Solitaire so far. I'm thinking of purchasing a ticket and watching it archived if I have enough money.

I liked Yuriko's part on stone cold; it sounded really pretty. Kajiura-san singing in the verses was surprising, but amazing. Kaori was pretty good, but Wakana definitely sounded off. Overall, it was a decent performance.

Sayonara Solitaire was pretty with the three of them. I thought Kaori sounded too loud at times, but that might just be me. Keiko sounded a little weird at the beginning, but her softer, lower voice fit. :dote: Yuriko did amazing on her part.

They performed When the Fairytale Ends and so many other juicy songs for Day 2. :omg: *dies*

By the way Grunty, whatever did happen to your blog? It was working awhile back, then died for a bit, and like tabete.mio said, now it's just a white page with texts. I assume it's still working since I can see stuff being added, but is that it for your blog? D:
