So...it's ended? :tea: 18 songs is pretty good :shy: I guess the girls wouldn't be too tired/worn out

That was fun to watch! I really enjoyed it! I'll post some more detailed thoughts on it later!

:sparkleguy:

The stream itself was pretty decent, too! It cut out every so often and I suppose the resolution could have been a little higher, but ultimately, for 1000 yen (About £8) it was good. :)

@B.S: Now wondering to what people are you referring to and to what sort of trashing. Thanks for the last 4 tracks, the rest were also posted by Kowz on previous page.

@Cerise: Now that i think about it, the short setlist should be due to the long lenth of each of the songs.

I'm surprised Hitorigoto didn't make it... :ayashii:

EDIT: Ahhhh, I see, george...well, 18 songs is really good anyway :sohappy:

@ george you know the ones. The ones who whine and complain so much they should have given their tickets to the less privileged CPMers who don't get the chance to watch it live.

My reaction while my sleepy brain still works:

Kajiura-sama wove ritual of great magic with her utahimes. She controlled the pulse and breathing of the audience, both in Japan and worldwide, with the songs and the order of the list. Soft songs, abrupt turns to harder songs, duets, Kajiura-sama herself singing, even the positions of the singers as the songs changed, and the use of light and shadow to highlight or hide, the entire performance was sublime. The music was gorgeous, the singing lulled and soothed, or provoked and excited. The entire concert was a symphony of beauty that I am glad I had the privilege to see.

Before i got to sleep:

KAORI BEST FICTIONJUNCTION.

Yuriko was great, but the other girls overpowered her sometimes.

Keiko was good.

Wakana was hit or miss.

@Black Sword Just let people complain if they want to complain, lmao. As long as you enjoyed it, there shouldn't be any problem in other people saying they didn't for whatever reason.

+ Damnit I wish I held off on renewing Amazon Prime for another month so I could've bought a ticket.

It cleaned out my bank account and that tracklist looks awesome.

Totally worth the 1000 yen, I really enjoyed it, although I had to record it with headphones. I loved the songs which I hadn't heard live , tis a shame it was only japanese songs :uh..:

Kaori: brilliant
Keiko and Yuriko: pretty good
Wakana: Very good at times and at others alright,

Their choruses and chants were fantastic as usual

The first half of my recording is cut into short parts , then I've got 1 hour and 40 minutes with a few glitches and lags ( eg refreshing the page ) . I'll probably do a re-record of the whole thing, but I can upload the 1 hour 40 minutes , maybe other ppls recordings went better than mine XD

The outfits WERE GORGEOUS ! Does anyone know how long the videos stay in your archives ???

Great concert overall :dote:
I wish we could had more newer songs though it felt like FJ live #4 all over again :uh..:

@blacksword
I think everyone was fully capable of putting $12.75 on a debit or credit card to watch the concert. Now getting up @ 4am in the morning on a school day that I can comprehend :blood: :blood:

I personally didn't like the outfits too much. Hated the toilet paper thing on Keiko's head :uh..: I wish Yuriko would have belted out more she felt so subdued.

@ B.S: Oh I see :tea: I was a bit afraid you were refering to the short spamming we did on page 26-27. :XD:

I will have to watch the rip to see if I agree with you on the second paragraph :ayashii:

Well, this was full of surprises and disappointments alike, lol.

Wakana was basically sad to listen to because of her tone problems and slight pitch problems. Most of her held notes were piercing, especially higher ones, and her vibrato was close to yodeling. Her best songs were Hikari no Yukue and Eternal Blue.
Keiko shouted too much, but again, it was tone problems rather than pitch. She ruined the mood of some songs for me but her harmonies were mainly good when she wasn't too loud. Her best song was Hoshikuzu.
Kaori was very solid aside from some shouting and pitchy moments here and there. Her parts in Dream Scape, Michiyuki, Sayonara Solitaire and Hanamori were all very good.
Yuriko was the best imo. She had a slight issue in Himitsu but just got better from there, to the point of every falsetto note she sang being completely on key, which is pretty tough to pull off.

I wasn't particularly happy with Konchan's performance - pretty flat and bland at times - but then again I don't expect him to improvise, since he's never really done so before. The rest of the band seemed solid, although they were drowned out at times by the mixing. Seems like Ohira is better suited to working with one vocalist as opposed to four.

Some of the setlist choices surprised me, such as the repeat of a lot of Vol. 4 songs, the total absence of Toki no Mukou, and the inclusion of Sayonara Solitaire and Hikari no Yukue. And Parallel Hearts' drums bursting out of nowhere was shocking, lol.

All in all I enjoyed it. Yuriko and Kaori surpassed my expectations definitely.

AND speak of the devil and she will appear. Let the sh*tstorm begin, without me. Permanent exit from the thread.

See ya all elsewhere!

^ no, i guess it's safe now :idol:

[EDIT] nah.. not rlly :tea:

Errrm black sword I think your overreacting. :uh..: Everything ninetales said is perfectly true to some extent. Now I may not be able to discern some of the musical elements on the same level, but I could tell the girls were off key in certain parts as is expected of any live performance.

@Black Sword Oh no!! People who have different opinions to me!! GTG forever because this is too much!!

Don't you think you're overreacting a little?

Ninetales is allowed to have her own thoughts on things without having to ask you if you like them and are therefore permissible.

Yup - It's silly to let other people's opinions ruin something that you, yourself, enjoyed. The bottom line is that you enjoyed it and that's all that should matter. Sure, people have different standards and some are more critical than others - but there's as much wrong with that as their is with your post about how much you loved it.

As for me, I enjoyed seeing them very much. As usual, Yuki Kajiura played her instrument to perfection. She really seemed to communicate well with the crowd (although I didn't know a thing she said - Must have picked up on... 3 phrases?).

And similarly, the backing band was solid. I liked the guitar solo with the harmonizer effect - That was very neat. I'd have loved some camera shots of the rhythm section though. Being a drummer, I'm sad that they didn't get much air time. I want an alternative "Kyoichi cam" view of behind the drums - Stuff the girls, I'd have been glued to that all concert!

:XD:

As for the girls themselves, I have a different opinion than the rest of you. I thought Kaori was OK, but had the most noticeably off-pitch moments. Maybe that is because her voice is naturally more audible than the others. Wakana, I thought, did well once they'd been singing for a while. Keiko was pretty good, although a bit overpowering at times (maybe more the mixes fault). Yuriko, to me, seemed to struggle a bit with some of the changes?

When they sang their solos, I thought they did a really good job. Kaori nailed the start of "Dreamscape" and there was something Keiko sang (Not sure what piece) which I thought was very strong. Similarly, I really enjoyed Wakana's solo. I sadly missed "Here was Stand...", so I'm not sure how Yuriko did with it.

They ran into problems when the four of them were singing as a chorus, but with individual lines interweaving together (polyphonically, for the music guys). I don't know if it was just one singer who was a little out, but at times it DID sound a little bit mushy. I understand it must be very difficult to get those moments sounding perfect, when you have 4x the chance of a wrong note being sung.

I was surprised that Kaori got a better costume than usual! It actually fitted for a change! Wakana looked really good, I thought. Keiko... erm... We'll skip over her.

:psst:

Overall though, it was very enjoyable - I hope to see more and for £8, I honestly can't complain.
