SHINee- Wish Upon a Star (again)
This chord progression and the harmonies omg
SHINee's ballads are just :dote::dote: , their voices soothe my soul

Also, SHINee- Beautiful Life
Going on a SHINee ballad spree. This song reminds me of a Maaya Sakamoto song, or a more lighthearted Kalafina song actually, I love it. The harmonies are so good, especially the countermelody here
And Key's voice sounds so good here

@Westkana LOL, glad you liked it :XD:

now listening to: Super Junior- This is Love

I love how this and Evanesce were filmed in the same set, with the same suits, and both MV's even have the exact same opening (with Kyuhyun and the door), it's super cool.
But they both have such different color filters on them (I love the sharp red, black, and white in This is Love compared to the faded and moody colors of Evanesce) and they're both such different songs, so the contrast is really really cool. Also love the choreo in This is Love, as well the way it's shot.

However, I can't take it seriously anymore after watching this high note battle between Ryeowook and Siwon that they filmed on the set. The goddamn facial expressions get me every time, I mean WTF IS THIS :ohoho:,

(especially considering this is how he looks in the MV):

it's literally the funniest high note battle out there, I die everytime I watch it :XD::XD:

SHINee, "Lucifer". Can't get over how great the performances are with that choreography :D
(wish I could hear the song better though, but there's a violent thunderstorm outside, everything sounds muffled inside the house)

Lol, you, me, and @ritardando, we're gonna overtake this board with our nonstop SHINee and Kpop talk one of these days :XD:

np: SHINee- Get The Treasure
SHINee's Japanese singles are so underrated smh, the MV for this song was so cool

@KitsuneMiyu too should we make a Kpop thread on this forum?? Lol

Currently I'm listening (and watching) SHINee's Sherlock performance on repeat. I still can't get over how they can sound near perfect singing that song live with that hard and intense choreography plus that song is so hard to sing. Sherlock is filled with high notes and the main vocals need to belt their voices out from beginning to ending. I don't mean to hate/discredit EXO but at the same age (4 years) SHINee performed Sherlock nearly flawlessly while EXO was hit or miss (even the main vocals) on Lotto, which has much more laid-back choreography and was much easier to sing (the hardest part of that song was only Chen's part on the end of the bridge - he went really high on that one). The fact that EXO has much more members therefore each member's singing burden isn't as heavy as SHINee members kinda speak for how great SHINee's main vocals live performance is.

LOL that would actually probably be a good idea, we would avoid annoying everyone with our nonstop Kpop spamming on this thread haha:XD:

AND I KNOW!! Sherlock is honestly such an amazing song, it's the song that really cemented them as Kpop legends imo, it's still absolutely iconic even to this day
And yup, it's crazy hard to sing, but they pull it off nearly flawlessly in all their live performances, they're the best male group in terms of vocal consistency imo.
I absolutely LOVE the Sherlock remix too, I actually like it better than the original lol. I like Taemin's verses in the remix a lot better, and Jonghyun's scat is just so goood. Even though it's the Japanese version, this is still my favorite performance of Sherlock by far, I just love how Taemin sung his lines here. And their outfits and stage presence here were the best imo :ohoho:I still don't get how they can sound so good singing live while they're doing that insane choreo, they're just too good :@_@:

But, yeah, for as much as I like EXO, you're right lol
Even though I genuinely do like EXO's sub vocalists (I actually quite like Suho's voice), with the exception of Chen (and Baek & D.O to an extent, but they're not as good as Chen is live), EXO isn't nearly as vocally consistent as SHINee is. And that's mainly because, like you said, they have too many members for their own good.
They're like forced to split up lines between every member, even the ones who can't sing as well, which overall gives off the impression that they're not as vocally skilled as SHINee, even though their 3 main vocalists are really really good (according to this chart, they're actually better than SHINee's on average. But I still prefer SHINee lol).
They just get to sing less per average on a song compared to Jonghyun, Onew, and Taemin because they have that much more members, which is kinda annoying lol.

I wouldn't mind if EXO was condensed to 5 members tbh, all we really need is Chen, Baekhyun, D.O, Chanyeol, and maybe Suho/Xiumin/Lay.
I think that's why I like EXO-CBX so much, the line distribution is a lot more fair since it's split across way less people, so the vocal performance comes off as more impressive imo, since Baek and Chen sing 66% of each song lol

Now listening to:
Super Junior- Black Suit
This was such a good comeback honestly, probably one of my favorite comebacks of the year. I love Siwon's part in the prechorus here. I just still really miss Kyuhyun's and Ryeowook's voices :(
So glad I got to at least Kyuhyun's voice in this song, he honestly has one of the best voices in all of Kpop, he has one of the nicest and most natural vibratos I've ever heard lol Offtopic but this song REALLY reminds me of a SHINee song. I could totally see Jonghyun or Taemin or something singing this part

EXO was originally meant to have 2 units with 6 members on each unit after all - back then songs on Korea version album was sung by EXO K only and Chinese version was sung by EXO M only (afaik based on line distribution Youtube videos I saw lol). Back then I think the line distribution is more fair (don't really count me on this, I'm not a big fan EXO fan lol) and there's a very distinct difference between M and K releases due to the main vocals' timbres. But then the 3 M members left and the remaining members merged their group into EXO only...which left EXO in the state as they're in now.

Technically good doesn't always mean they're consistent in their live performances, right? :XD: the EXO main vocals can truly deliver when they're only singing but when it comes to singing and dancing at the same time SHINee main vocals won by mile.

Now listening to: EXO - Love Me Right (chinese version)
I really like how Lay got like twice more lines compared to the korean version lol

ClariS- Hitorigoto

Been listening to a lot of ClariS's newest singles the past few hours and they've really improved in the quality of their music (past the more elecrtopop songs of the past and more songs in the style of Connect & Luminous ^w^)

Still listening to Kubikiri Cycle's ost. It's easily my favorite Kajiura release of the past 3 years.

Also, the soundtrack for Big Little Lies: it's amazing. So many great insert songs and a huge variety to boot.

Listening to a bunch of Micheal Jackson songs, currently on Bad

Whenever I hear MJ or watch his live performances, I can REALLY see where Jonghyun and Taemin draw their inspiration from. Jonghyun's and MJ's falsettos sound nearly identical at times and the way Jonghyun sings his iconic lines in Love Like Oxygen and Amigo sounds SOOOOO like MJ, it's crazy. It also helps that Jonghyun has briefly covered a few MJ songs like Black or White and Beat It.

Same goes for Taemin and his dance moves, he's stated many times that he draws inspiration from MJ in terms of dance, and it really shows.
