Voldemort songs that you secretly enjoy?

Hm... Seems that Yoko is more popular...

Well... that give us a reason XD

Nah, I don't really care call her voldemort, I think that is innecesary...

WOW RO2 Music, let me see...

............................................

The RO musci is great... but I'd like to play the game, you feel more emotion when you play an listen to the music at the same time ^^

Woaaa Yoko more popular than yuki 3:1 ??I like yoko's song but still love yuki the most >.<

it's the same with me, that's why i can barely remember anything from the cowboy bebop ost =/

Yoko Kanno ist a group of people, not just one person, so I don't compare her/it with Kajiura, because SHE ist just ONE Composer!

Yuki is the best, she does her stuff alone, not in a group and gets the credits.

So Yoko is not her rival :knife:

Yeah I think about it the same way :)
Tough a composer needs musician to perform some instrument parts (violin, piano, orchestra...) being a composer all alone is more worth then secretly having people compose/steal for her...

I'm not afraid to admit that I love Yoko.
My personal favorite: Velveteen (Ghost in the Shell)
Others from Ghost in the Shell that I listen to every day: Inner Universe, Rise, Monochrome, Rokky Wa Doko.
I also enjoy Tank! (Cowboy Bebop) and Yakusoku wa Iranai and Mystic Eyes (Escaflowne).
Regarding originality, I don't think it hurts to draw on other melodies as long as you turn them into something good, which is what Yoko always does. That's what re-makes are all about. It might have been good for her to give credit to Laurent Voulzy for cloud9, though.
Long live Voldemort :bwahaha:

(just figured it out)

ZOMG LOL XD that's funny... I never really hated K--er, she-who-must-not-be-named, but I resented the fact that people compared her to and/or said she was better than Kajiura. But there're a lot of her songs that I like (and a lot more that I either dislike or don't care about).

I like:

- I Do / GITS 2nd GIG (vocals by Ilaria Graziano)
- Rise / GITS 2nd GIG (vocals by Origa)
- Other Origa songs
- Most of the stuff sung by Scott Matthews...if I'm feeling really depressed
- Didn't it Rain / Arujuna (random OST piece from Onna no Minato)
- Monochrome and Velveteen / GITS (both by Ilaria)
- Various other OST pieces

No, overall, Kajiura all the way.

BTW, does anyone know of Otani Kou? (Haibane Renmei and Eyeshield 21 OSTs, among others). Another good composer. And Iwasaki Taku has a couple good ones as well.

omglol i love your drawingggg!!!! :dote: :dote: :dote: so cute sososo lololollllllllllll :aww: :aww: :aww: :aww:

and omg otani is awesome <3 but i only have two soundtracks by him (colossus and haibane)

imho, these two are his best works :]

okay just passed by and now I know
the why "ang taong di dapat pangalanan(The-Person-who-must-not-named)"
between our Dyesebel Yuki^^

*dyesebel is a mermaid i used it instead of dyosa(godess the tv show/station i most hated [err is more like of dimonyita(demon)])

I like Voldemort-san's music :XD: And it's not her fault that somebody commits a blasphemy of putting her above Yuki, and she's not to be blamed for obtaining at birth the same initials as Yuki :bwahaha: It's not so wise comparing them anyway, they have very different approaches to composing.
To me, she's one of the best animation composers ever. Because most of her works still carry the tint of "OSTness" in different degrees. That's what is different about Yuki, who thus gains the place of ONE OF THE BEST COMPOSERS AT WHOLE - in my list, that is. Her works always sound like independent albums, even the orchestrated ones like Mai-Hime.

Otani Kou... He wrote music for both seasons of Shakugan no Shana, didn't he?

And I don't know Iwasaki Taku, only Iwasaki Tarou (Persona, Binchou-tan, Oban star Racers, Gurren-Lagann, Soul Eater). He, too, deserves a thread in this forum, I think.

:omgwtf: :omgwtf: “Iwasaki Tarou” is Taku Iwasaki (岩崎琢 = いわさきたく)! He scored Rurouni Kenshin, Witch Hunter Robin, R.O.D., Yakitate!! Japan too, among many other series.

Back on topic, I like a handful of Voldemort’s compositions too, so I (as a devoted Kajifag Kajiura fan) see little need to be disdainful of her, even though she is more popular. But my absolute favourite – if this counts – has to be her arrangement of T.M.Revolution’s “THUNDERBIRD” from his self-cover album UNDER:COVER (2006). She also provided piano accompaniment and even appeared at his final UNDER:COVER tour concert (Budoukan) as a guest pianist. It’s so beautiful and way better than the original. :dote: :aww:  :pwease:

Oh wow... for you to say its better than original than it must be something :O *knows your secret love for T.M.Revolution*
But i have to say i almost died of laugher reading that Kajifag :XD:

As for me.. atm i have Darker than Black, Macross Frontier and Wolf's Rain ost
out of these 3 is Wolf's rain absolutely teh best but personally i'm in love with Arjuna OST (beh still need to get it back <.<) and i want to download full Cowboy Bebop disco now since it got rereleased with some extra and rearranged tracks. Yup i still remember .. what was it one track with Cats (Mars Cats?) that i really love XD

I only have both Wolf Rain OST's, and though some songs are nice, Voldemort cannot compare to our goddess. :dote:

Her GitS OSTs are magnificent, too. :dote: Only don't try to study Russian by Origa's singing. :XD:

Not to study :3 but its a good way to learn all kind of dialect you can get when you go to Russia XD (well GitS songs seng by her are great but i still prefer some other songs over those - カビタン ~A Voyage with The Odessa Harbor Club Band in 2043~ and Polyushko-pole are addictive :XD:)
