What do you mean? Keiko IS the most silent-breather between all FJ and Kalafina's members. Her breath never audible. Wakana is the most audible one, and it sounds horrible like she's choked. Just listen to Wakana's part in Kagayaku and you'll see. Oblivious live in Animax Studio musix and you'll see.

With all those exercise that Keiko has done, it's nearly impossible for her to cannot control her breath. After all, she's an alto. She doesn't have to take lots of breath in one take, after all.

You just can't accept that Wakana's breath is much more audible than Keiko, so you intrigued people's mind to think that Keiko's breath is much more audible.

^ Wakana's breath is too audible and I have realized it since the first time I know Kalafina. While it's rather rare, Keiko's breath is sometimes audible, too. I missed typing "when" between "but" and "she" so I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Isnt the reason u cant hear their or any other singer's breath is just because they put their mic away from their mouth when they take a breath ?

Maybe...lol. My choir trainer once said that comparing to pop singers, it's more important for choir singers to learn how to breath quietly coz it would be terrible when all choirs breath loudly at the same time even they don't use the mic.., while pop singers can avoid that by the trick you said.

^ oh I see yeah I didn't mean Keiko never breathes at all, it's just that her breaths are less noticeable for me than the others...actually, I just notice Wakana seems to take bigger and louder breaths than the other singers...and second to her is Kaori, whose breaths I also tend to notice more but not as much as Wakana's...

Does it have something to do with singing the higher soprano parts and needing more air, since Kaori and Wakana tend to sing the higher notes, or is that irrelevant?

Actually...come to think of it, I never notice Yuriko's breathing either...so

In fact this is simply the best logical reason, we all here had witness our beloved Utahime outstanding performances. Overtime either their Vocal/Breath gets better because of constant strenuous practices or deteriorate/exhausted because of it, these slight changes won't keep the girls down and I am sure they are well aware of their condition while many other power ballad singers lost/crack their voice because of what I've just mentioned.
Personally, I love Kaori's "Miezaru Ude", Wakana's "Mizu no Akashi", Keiko's "Nohara" and Yuriko's "Salva Nos" these are my favorites. I have faith in them that they will live up to their fans expectation in some way, especially in major concerts where Fion's around and I bet she will make sure of that.

It's not always possible to stay away from the mic when singers breath, especially if they are singing a fast song! If you put your mic away you might miss the cue to start singing again, so it's tricky. I think it's a matter of technique though, you learn how to use the air better so that you don't run out of air and have to gasp or something like that.

Wakana has been sounding strained in general lately, maybe because of her alleged flu? that might be worsening her situation

You're talking about technique? ermmm technique of Kungfu Mic control where you swing your hand away from your mouth and retract it back with lightning speed who needs control of the breath this way when your hands are faster than your mouth

I think that it's relevant...or at least I was taught in that way, but I don't know whether it's (physically/biologically/or so..lol) true or not.

they definitely need more air if they are dancing, jumping, and running around the stage


they should stop moving around when singing and focus on their vocal
