Geez, if I could I'd erase this performance from the face of the earth (or at least from my mind).

And to think the excuse was: It's because it's lacking Maya LOL

I forgot about that performance. Was it the one where Hikaru did that thing-

Oh yep it is.

What if the Seventh Heaven live ARIA sounded like this I'll just go cry under a rock now

^LOL But that wouldn't have the effect that we want. :XD: Given my personality, I could just write something like that, or worse, but they'd just throw it away and keep making Wakana die a bit more each concert :blood:

@Martin: I see your point and I agree. Post-production is expected, but not as exaggerated as exemplified by grunty here. That's why I like lives...live :ohoho:

Still pretty damn horrible.

But at least you'd know that it's the true incompetence of the artist /bricked :ohoho: But I can't watch it now, as I said.

I'm not disagreeing with you there; some artists are great in the studio but can't recreate it in a live setting no matter how hard they try. That performance you link to there is...well, at first, it is pretty darned bad but does get better. I've never heard them as bad as that, but TBH I'm not in a hurry to actively seek out bad recordings to listen to! :blood: What that version really suffers from I think is the lack of live band to accompany them; I can put up with minor imperfections in live performances when there are enough pleasant surprises in other areas of the arrangements that make them different from their studio counterparts. In this case though, there's none of the 'polish' of a studio recording in the vocals, but none of the immediacy of a proper live performance either. It's the worst of both worlds really.

I like how Kaori's sings in YKlive vol 4 "Zodical Signs", that kajiurago part by her was giving me goosies. Not sure what sort of range you called that :ayashii:

Grunty can give as many examples as he wants, I don't hate any of them. Not even the Progressive other-live-band version where Hikaru couldn't hit a single note in the Kajiurago. Not going to go into my reasoning, but nothing's going to make me disdain Kala's singing ability.

To be frank, I don't care a lick whether Wakana can sing on key live or not. She doesn't sound like Rebecca Black after editing, and that's all that counts. Whether or not her performances were perfect before Kala doesn't matter to me either - she's struggling now, it's painfully obvious, and if we want to do something about it then we should just DO it.

Its history guys, they had their problems before and it's not like they've never showed us memorable moments. Whatever it is we still love the Utahimes, if you think otherwise then why are you still doing here?.

I am not enjoying every moment thinking about how bad they are or which utahime's better in comparison. I rather think about how much happiness they've brought me and I would support them for as long as I live. So let them solve their own problems we don't need to help promote their disabilities.

I love none of kalafina girls, my loves are Kasahara, Tomaru, Ito and Nishina. May I still stay here?

Btw this thread went totally offtopic. Probably we need to make another one to discuss Wakana's issues and ways of solving them.

^ I think of them as utahime too...especially Yuri Kasahara, since utahime means "song princess". So if my opinion counts, you can definitely stay here :sparkleguy: :XD:

Alphie none of your singers were brought into topic, as much as I am concerned, learning how to hate what others like is a bad practice. My bad for not mentioning what you liked, sweety

I don't think it's a great idea to send them a mail about these concerns... I mean the people working with them must be more familiar with their performance and potential than we are, it's very likely that they are already aware of it and are working hard to overcome the problems.

A message like that from fans would be a pretty big blow to her confidence and I'm not sure if it would make a difference other than make them worry more...

OMG kera, u right :omg:

stupid me i also didnt realized that :omg:

I agree with you!! My fear is this : to worry more..
We can only pray for her health!!

^ Not to play devil's advocate, but what if Wakana knows she has a problem and is fighting against it because she feels that the fans would disrespect her if she took a break? What if learning that the fans (us, at the very least) are concerned about her is just what she needs?

I still think that if it's properly worded, then a message about her might help instead of hurt. There's no need to say "Wakana's performances have been getting worse" - instead, we could say "Wakana's performances are just as good as always, but it seems like she's getting tired quickly now, and that makes us worried about her health." To me, focusing on her health and well-being is the best way to show that we're not trying to criticize her at all.

+1 :sparkleguy:

:ayashii: it might work if we find something to back it up (blog? book?) so that it doesn't appear that we deduce she is ill purely from watching videos.

e.g. if you see a friend in the morning and he asks "did you not sleep well last night?", it automatically implies that he thinks you look like a zombie @_@ unless you told him the night before that you couldn't get to sleep, etc.
