Thanks for the rip! :sohappy:
Hard to say much about the song from what I've heard, but the melody and the rhythm sound nice, although I'm not sure about E.G.O. comparison... it might rather develop into something closer to Here We Stand in the Morning Dew. :ayashii: Can't wait to hear the whole song, and Heaven give Yuki & Co a PV director with a really creative mind for once. :plot:
The anime... Might turn out Guyver-esque, might sport a decent ShinMegaTen-like plot... but so far I don't feel too hyped about it, honestly. :waa: :tea:

Unkajiura!

For me it sounds like a very generic anisong from the 90's.

"I Swear" much? Yuki's new works get repetitive, she should do something new, but once she does, it sounds too "unkajiura". The "Unpleasable fanbase" trope will never die. :ohoho: :XD:
Really, let's just wait for... no, it's too long until full size, let's wait for the TV size so far. :stars:
but TBH, the song sounds perfectly Kajiura to me. :ayashii:

Re:

When I listen to it 20 time more I will love the chorus part, lol.
Oh, any air date confirmed?? July 2nd, perhaps? :knife:

I agree :innocent:

And I think the melody certainly sounds more original than lots of other songs I've heard, such as some girugamesh songs, most Matsushita Yuya songs, Connect by Claris, etc. Just my opinion, though :V:

I think I should stop overanalyzing it now and wait for the TV-size... :ohoho:

I think it's July 8th, because I'm sure I read somewhere that it would air on Fridays.
Anyway Nick, almost everytime a whole work/song by Kajiura receives a minimum amout of negative feedback, you come with the Unpleasable fandom excuse. While I understand sometimes and even agree with you on it, I can't this time. I'm very open to whatever Kajiura does, be it new or "old", but this time I think she just did something incredibly generic. So generic that when the song began, I thought it wasn't the actual song.

So...yeah, I hope this song has a very freaky and awesome guitar/strings/whatever solo or a fascinating bridge to compensate this first impression.

Every Saturday since July 2nd on MBS, trailer confirms.

Well so, three weeks from now. Let's see what Sunrise will show me before Gundam Age then.

I like the little clip of song, although I agree that it is hard to tell from that little bit. Does this mean that we'll get an actual sample of it soon? I want to hear Yuuka's song too, may have to get that single. :dote:

But I'm not recalling this trope in response to the song being called generic (which I assume means "sharing the canon moves with traditional anime songs out there"), but in response to the word "unkajiura". Like I said, it sounds pretty Kajiura to me, but the word itself keeps amusing me ever since the aforementioned I Swear. Sometimes people wanting to hear something new from Yuki are not quite sure what exactly they'd want to hear, so when she tries something atypical, it may evoke disappointment. It's not related to being "like a generic 90s anime song" at all.
Btw, why it is wrong to compose 90s style songs for a composer who STARTED her career far back in the 90s? :XD: Nerve, Swimmer, No Make - they were really good songs. :dote:

Oh, and reconsidering Ninetales' E.G.O. comparison from the previous page... who knows what Yuki was asked to write... this being a show from the Aquarian Age director... :psst:

Oh that's an interesting point :ayashii:

Is that really Kaori? It sounds like Wakana in some parts.

Agreed.

At first listen it sounds like a song that would be on DDR. It's promising. I like it.

^ Yay, someone else who likes it! :sohappy:

I'm assuming it's Kaori since she's supposed to be the lead, but to tell the truth it didn't sound like her 90% of the time :ohoho: Maybe because she's singing higher than usual...

The problem isn't that it looks like a song from the 90's (I love songs from that period so it can't be a problem for me XD), but rather because it has a generic feel to it. The 90's was just to contextualize since those songs are not so common nowadays (in animes, at least).

I also didn't recognize Kaori at first, like Kowz already mentioned.

But anyway, let's just see how the whole song will be XD

I'm sad it say this, but it sound like a Eurovision song :uh..: maybe the full ver is much better.

Whoooa !! Coool !!!! :listen:

Stone Cold is cools :TdT:

so far here only me who like the Trailer and the Stone Cold there :hero:

I like it since the start.. :XD: ..yes..it sounds 'like a very generic anisong from the 90's' for me as well.., but why can't a generic song be a good song? The Yuki-ness are so obvious in her OSTs, See-saw, Kalafina songs and etc., but there are also so many of her pop-song that sounds so general but they're still a good song. (For FJ yuuka, Chiba Saeko, etc.)

Kaori's voice (if it's really her voice..I know how bad of my skill in listening..lol.) sounds so sweet here.. I bet that the longer version will sounds less 'generic' by a refrain&bridge.. The hook always the most generic past of any songs right..? :). And even it's still so generic, it's still a beautiful songs for me.

I think I'm a fan of real-robot like Gundam series more than a fantasy super-robot like this one... I don't think I'll watch it..esp. when Yuki doesn't work for its OSTs.

Or something which is called "Fan boy-ism" : Worshipping everything as if gold, platinum, diamond, or god-like which one has made even if the work is objectively shit.

Nope, I'm not fanatics.

Still I want to say, I might like the song.

actually, there is a real robot there.. see the one with the missile pod with the guy wearing glasses as the pilot...

but its just unusual for real robots to have monster enemies

And yeah, the song also sounds Kajiura to Me

Yuki back to its True Form :TdT:

I'm also in this camp. Generic =\= bad. For example, Foo Fighters are "generic" as far as modern rock goes but it's extremely well done generic (as opposed to, let's say, your local high school hooligans in a "rock" band). If Yuki Kajiura wants to write 90's generic anime whatever-you-call it, then that's her perogative and I'll judge the song not by the genre but by how well the song is written and performed (taking into account things like melody, harmonies, instrumentation, etc).

Then let me correct myself: as far as the preview is concerned, imho, it seems like not only a generic but also a boring, weak and forgettable 90's anisong. Now I'm waiting for the full song (or at least the tv size) so I can hopefully change my mind and discover that the song will turn out to be very good.
