I doubt it could be in the movies. Obviously Homura couldn't become a witch in earlier timelines, and there's no witch-turning in the final timeline at all. In a game, however, the rules are more forgiving since RPGs went for bad endings even without employing the "time reset" concept and just sending a player to the last save/new game+.

Heh, I remember all those guesses about Homura=Walpurgis Night, mostly based on the latter's gear looking like a clock detail. Then again, Sayaka fell victim to the same trend since ep 1... based on the shape of her cape, of all things.
