^Ah, Kyuubey is just one character, and at least when I think of character design, what comes to my mind are the human characters XD

Which makes us think: was Madoka so fantastic that all others can't compare to it or was is that the competition was so weak that Madoka didn't even have a real "match"?
I'd go with a mix of both XD

^Congratulations, you fluffy extraterrestrial! :cheer: :XD:
Overall, I'm happy for Madoka to get more applause. :dote: Although calling Connect the best song... :desksweat: I'm sorry to all ClariS fans, but I personally find it PLAIN inferior to Magia, and that goes even WITHOUT my Yuki fanship taken into account. Oh well... :waa:
Also, Homura is clearly getting all the love. I'm starting to get nervous that Kyouko and Sayaka don't seem to get that much popularity with PMMM fans aside from those who are actually busy shipping these two. Not to mention that Kyouko spent half her screentime as an antagonist and Sayaka is STILL considered an annoying idiot by many... :uh..: Homerun-chan, on the other hand, is practically the Senjougahara of this show. :psst: OK, not like this girl didn't deserve that immence popularity... :hero:
@Winter: well, different people liked different shows this year, but I believe it was Madoka and Steins;Gate that attracted most attention. :ayashii:
When checking out the info on Kobe Awards, I learnt that they judge the period from last autumn and up until the coming one. It may be the case with Newtype, too. If votings were done for the previous year alone in 2012, I guess Fate/Zero would have had biggger chances of being in this list - even if its aired HALF only.
But until Fate/Zero is aired fully, it looks like Madoka's remaining the most popular show Yuki's ever scored. Would if I could see KnK have gotten as much hype in its release days... :TdT:

@KP-X: hehe, I think I'll go witg the mix, too. :plot:

Not TOO surprising, really. There goes Shinbo's hope to make a fluffy slice-of-life out of the second season... :ohoho:
But considering that the main cast's stories have relatively few chances to be revisited, I believe that if the second season showed up, they might appear more as "framing characters", with each episode possibly telling a story of a new magical girl's fate they encounter. Kinda like Jigoku Shoujo format. :plot:
I'm not sure if that's what Urobuchi has n mind, but if it is, then it's a prospect for ENDLESS MILKAN' - such shows can be continued as long as the author's imagination works. :ohoho:

Btw, it reminds me of a joke make-up dialogue between Shinbo and Iwakami I found on 2ch the other day:

Iwakami: so, now that we've gathered a lot of cash with Madoka, it's time we moved on to another original show.
Shinbo: OK, sure. What do we have in store?
Iwakami: ...
Shinbo: I see. Tell Gen that I'm expecting the draft of Madoka S2 on my desk next Monday.

:XD:

Hmmm, looks like the tweet archive also contains impressions from Kazuo Koike. :ayashii: I've already heard he was impressed by the show.

I have a strong premonition feeling that it will be a big hit that draws in the whole world.

A cheering phrase... but it gets a bit disturbing in context of what Madoka's witch form was meant to do... :white: :omg: :XD:

Also from Yukihiro Miyaoto:

Ah, I also heard that without full transformation Homura cannot use stop-time magic. And for rewinding time it is not possible for her to fine-tune the time to say 10 minutes ago. If she ever uses the magic she would be like in the anime where she was forcibly returned to the time when she woke up on a bed in a hospital ward.

Makes sense. :glasses: If she had the ability to rewind time in small portions, she might have not needed to redo the whole time period so often. :ayashii:

Very apt except I don't know where they got Cromartie parallels... :desksweat: :XD:
Afterthought: same with Seto no Hanayome... OK, maybe it's NOT too apt, after all. :XD:

Zetsubou Sensei!!

No...Absolutely no way PMMM is on the same level as SZS. One's too serious to be taken lightly; the other's just the exact opposite!

This one is at least explainable: SZS parallels must be stemming from Gertrude's barrier which looks like a shout-out to SZS OPs (especially in ep 1). :ohoho:

But as to KnK, I'm wondering myself, too. :confu:

Don't drag my Saya into this too

Well, it was inevitable considering it's one of Gen's most famous works. Besides, Saya has something in common with Kyuubey. :psst:

- cute
- alien
- has trouble empathizing with humans or understanding them

Differences:

- We have an idea of what Saya REALLY looks like :white: For all we know, the same COULD apply to Kyuubey, but I don't think we had anything official to ever hint at it. :ohoho:
- Saya can feel emotions including even love, while Kyuubey self-admittedly can't :ayashii:

And the biggest difference:
- we may have no fear that Kyuubey will ever do something that leads to all the humanity turning into Kyuubeys :ohoho: :ohoho: :ohoho:

I don't think that's Venari Strigas. It's got a similar sound, but the strings melody is completely different.
