Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Well, thanks to Madoka Magica, now I find the traditional long henshin scene rather annoying and boring lol. But yeah, I need a proper henshin scene bgm like MATERIALISE in Mai-Otome back then :stars:
 
I'm alright with henshins unless they take up to a third of the episode (which was the case with one episode in MGLN StrikerS :desksweat:). But this show, being a deconstruction it is, obviously doesn't care much about henshins. And the only henshin theme we got so far wasn' reserved for transformation alone, it plays more like "behold Mami Tomoe, the heroine of justice, the menace to witches". Like I said, it brilliantly comprises all the bright side of being a PM that the show cared to inherit from its predecessors for a while. If we think about all the fights that took place in Sayaka's arc - would't a cool song and long flashy transformation be a cruel mockery there?
Returning to the plot, has anyone seen the recent Animedia pics? I can't check them from the phone, but they seem to have stirred up some WMGs at Animesuki. Also, there's apparently some kinda interview, and Chiwa Saitou clearly states that episode 10 will be a Homura-centric wham episode. :waii: The staff also advises to rewatch episode 1 before watching the last two (thanks, Cap, but if ep10 really leaves Homerun's cards open, many people will likely rewatch the whole series :ohoho: ).
I'm really looking forward to it. Partly because I want to clarify if there's any truth to groundhog day WMGs that dominate all speculations and fanfics about Homura.
My problem with it is that Homura came back via her wish - her acquired timestopping ability hints at that. Meaning there was a girl named Homura Akemi, and she made a wish and became a Puella Magi, right? The problem is... There is no such girl in this timeline. There is a Puella Magi named Homura Akemi. And as a Puella Magi, she doesn't have another wish to make. Unless her first wish was worded with exreme elaboration, there is nothing to grant her a time loop. Now, this makes things all the more tragic - if Homura fails to save Madoka, she fails once and forever. No second chance. And fail is what she seems to be doing so far. No wonder she breaks down in ep 8. :orz:

Oh, and my take on Homura's identity is still the most boring one: Madoka's friend
from a different timeline (possibly even replaced by Sayaka here :ghost: )
Sorry, but I have yet to TRY to believe in some epileptic trees like "Madoka's future self" or "Madoka's cat" :ohoho:
 
Something has occured to me about the first volume... I said that few tracks would be a waste of a CD, but... Do they, by any chance, plan to fill the space with some kind of audio drama? :white: Bakemonogatari even had them on opening singles, and we're talking about the same producer here...
I wouldn't mind an audio drama in general, but stuffing it in place of moar Yuki's tracks...does not sound like a fair trade. :uh..: hopefully, I'm mistaken.
 
No, the audio drama's will be in the CDs of DVD/BD volumes, 1, 3 etc but not in the CD of vol 2 which will be ONLY soundtrack. However I doubt they will include more than 10 tracks in it, even if it can contain more, because if they were stuffing the music into only 1 CD, they wouldnt need more than one volumes (Original Soundtrack Vol.1), and its a nice wait to turture the fans + earn more money :uh..: .

to TROLL the fans, you mean. :ohoho: Seriously, the trollishness of this series matches its best qualities, and that kinda scares me. :XD: To think that the show is ending before April, but we won't get diamonds like Sayaka's theme from ep 7 or Octavia's theme from ep 9 until... May? June? July? :omg: :wai: Of course, thanks to Yuki, we'll still have a lot to listen to, and the first volume itself will contain a bunch of songs that alone could make my day anytime. :touched:
Speaking of which, does anyone still remember the piano track used in CMs? We never heard it afterwards, but I'd really like to hear the full version. :ayashii:

Same thing happened to me when i tried to watch it the first time. I just refreshed it, and then i was able to watch it.
 
Oh I finally was able to watch it as well! (after like 10 refreshes :blood: ) Its really a splendid work. That person should be really experienced to transcribe such a long piece and play it too! :dote:

Barely watched anything today, thanks to shitty internet connection :blood:
But I did catch a bit of the theme in episode 10:
Madoka & Homura's history. Madoka was already a Puella Magia before Homura (at her timeline) and Homura was a.. nerd? With THAT hair and GLASSES. Homura became Puella Magi to save Madoka. I dunno what happened afterward, streaming stalled :blood: . Basically Homura will do anything to keep Madoka safe.

And Connect used as ED. No Magia again for this week haha.
