Kyaa! Kyouko in good quality~! *fangirls* :shy:

Cool! Yup, Kyoko's really beautiful if you see the high quality one

Aniplex of America will be releasing two different import editions of the two movies on July 30. Standard Edition and Collector's Edition. Available to customers in US, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Central and South America.

The difference with the Japanese release?

  • Both editions contain Japanese audio and subs in Japanese, English, French, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean
  • An additional English translation of the booklet and a postcard for Collector's edition.
  • Collector's edition - US$ 129.98 (retail), US$104.98 (store)
  • Standard edition - US$ 109.98 (retail), US$89.98 (store)

Since it looks like an import, similar to Fate/Zero, I guess this will mean the original Japanese release will contain the subs as well. Guess I don't have to buy two copies this time. I'm aiming for the Aniplex+ store bonus. I can read the booklet in Japanese but need the subs for my sisters...
Must... control... urge to have... 3 copies. Orz

(*audio commentary and bonus contents don't include subtitles)
Ah well.. those are hard to sub.

Video: 16:9 / HD Widescreen / 1920 x 1080p / MPEG-4 AVC
Mmm. 1080p.
Now I just need confirmation that it will have 5.1ch sound. Listening to the two ED songs in 5.1ch in Roppongi's cinema blew my mind away. AFA butchered the sound with only TWO speakers and by having the bass turned up to 11. It was plagued with so much distortion, I could barely concentrate on the show. I could hardly hear anything when Venari Strigas came on and Magia [Quattro] sounded like Magia. Hell, my friend didn't even notice the difference and thought it was plain old Magia.

^ It's the quality of those two speakers. When Magia [quattro] started playing, there was so much distortion in the speakers it drowned out most of the strings. They were playing the music too loudly for the speakers to handle. All I heard was vibrations and distortion.

My complaint about having only two speakers was for the lack of 5.1 ch surround sound. Kajiura-san said that it's the only 5.1 ch version of the song (CD version is 2.1 ch) and that we should listen to it in a cinema with the proper speakers if we can, so I was kinda disappointed that AFA only set up two speakers... in a makeshift viewing area... where you can clearly hear the noise from convention on the other side of the hall...
Japanese comments stating how overwhelming Quattro was when they first heard it only made it more disappointing.

Visually, we got a puny, slightly damaged screen that had a visible line on the lower left area. This is the problem with companies and their monopolies... we're told to be glad they even existed in the first place.

Annoying members in the audience commenting on everything while watching the movie certainly didn't help with the experience either. I had a guy on my right going "Oh. No." whenever anything happened, with the most annoying voice ever, amongst other snarky commentors. Going "nom nom" when QB was eating himself? Really? The only time the audience was dead silent was during that scene in ep. 9 with Kyouko and Oktavia. I guess even the worst audience knew they needed to shut up then. Poor Mami was reduced to a joke character though. I think I actually heard laughter and cheering.

Bah. I'm ranting again.
I still need to upgrade my home's system so that it can handle BDs though... the audiophile in me demands it.
Audio Commentary:
Movie 2 –Eternal- : Aoi Yuki, Chiwa Saito, Ai Nonaka, Emiri Kato
It's like the episode 9 commentary all over again, but with the addition of Kyouko herself this time.

*bump*

The coverart of the LE (includes OST) and RE BD set is out

So it is only the American release that will have English subtitles, right?

If I plan to only have the soundtrack, then buying from CDJapan will suffice. However, I also want to watch the movie, so having English subs is good as well...
